She worked with him 10+ years ago when she modeled. She raved to me about how great he was and said his were the best photos she ever took. I had seen her model photos years before, but it had been some years. She sends me a sample of her past work with him to prove his skill, I'm impressed. So, I look him up on both Facebook and Instagram. I do a glance over of his work posted and also view his studio. I like. I really like. I then go to his website and schedule my consult. At the telephone consult, I briefly explain my project. I fear my request is out of his scope. It's not, he reassures me there's more to his portfolio than what's posted. He is very clear and business focused. We discuss his rate and services offered. I decline the need for hair & makeup assistance. Given the goals of the project, I opt to handle both on my own. We text a bit after the consult and that's what solidified things. My project would require professionalism, comfort, transparency and positive energy. The call & text convo confirmed that's exactly what he projects and I was in good hands. Within 48hrs of the consult, we schedule the shoot. 50% of the session rate is due prior and the final 50% due the day of the shoot. He emailed me an invoice that allows credit card and pay pal transactions. He suggests that we create a private post so that we can communicate ideas. The night before the shoot, he inquired of my preferences so that he can further personalize my session. He reinforces that he wants it to be fun. (NOTE: I'm dedacting specific details of his prep. I feel these are keys to his greatness and for you to know the specifics to his methods, you should just hire him and see for yourself). Our remote interactions ease my nervousness & assist in establishing a baseline of rapport & comfort. I'm now excited. Day of shoot, we both arrive and it's all smiles. No awkwardness. He meets me at my car and walks me to his studio on the 2nd floor. As he sets up the studio, I apply my make up. We are now in person, and it is clear our interaction is organic. I watch him as he perfects the setting, lighting & angles in prep for the shoot. The shoot itself was no pressure & fun. It was interesting watching him because once behind the camera, regardless of distraction, his face loses all emotion & he falls quiet. He's in artist mode. It's almost like a puzzle or a formula and he's trying to come up with the best way to execute to get the desired result. Similar to that of a mastermind. I found it fascinating to personally witness. I may have gawked. In fact, I'm almost certain I did. After the shoot concludes, he discusses the follow up process and expectations. Again, I'm impressed by his presentation of things. Fancy & very professional. He allows me to take pics of the studio as I previously explained how I Yelp everything. Upon review of my lil rinkydink iphone pics vs his online pics of the studio, his are far better and photography is meant for the professionals. Him, definitely not me. I thank him for taking on my project, and he thanks me for choosing him to execute it. It says a lot for my friend to trust me enough to refer me to someone she regards so highly and it says a lot when, 10+ yrs later he made such an impression that she would choose to refer him over all others she worked with. We part with nothing less than respect. Given my personality, I hop on flights for food so I would most definitely travel to another state for a photographer who is mastery with a friendly professional demeanor. It goes without saying, and without having received the final product that yes, I would, hands down work with him again in the future.

I had no idea that he went to the garden to look around to find the right spot. This was a time saver...the gardens are huge. While we had a team of amazing vendors for our wedding, Steve and Jane are by far THE BEST CHOICE my husband and I made. We found them through a local wedding expo; by that time, we already had an excellent photographer in mind, but then we saw their pieces at the expo and could not get their artwork out of our heads. Steve and Jane are a wonderful couple who work seamlessly together. They're friendly, funny, professional, and just so easy to work with. We also LOVED their style of photography, especially how they use light to enhance their work. They are also extremely responsive, flexible, personable, and handled the crazy wedding schedule (especially the chaotic family portrait) calmly with zen. I think I would've broken down many, many times during the wedding day if it wasn't for them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for anyone who's looking for photographers who can take unique, timeless wedding photos. As a side note, Steve and Jane just opened their studio in Waldorf, Maryland. I planned my wedding in less than three months (call me crazy-I wanted a summer wedding and didn't want to wait an entire year to get married from the time I was engaged) and found Steve and Jane at the Wedding Experience show in Dulles. First of all, they are my type of people! They say one of the most important things when choosing a photographer is finding someone you jive with and I just knew from the moment I met them both they were down to earth, cool people. They are passionate about what they do and it's so apparent every time we met. Our initial meeting was at a Starbucks in Capitol Hill, which they drove to from all the way out in MD, just to accommodate us. They came prepared with examples, a slideshow, printed books and armed with answers to every question we could think of at the time. They were also very responsive to emails and offered to chat/text whenever I had a question. Leading up to the date, I was extremely busy planning my wedding. One word of advice--be a good client, too! I was late with pretty much everything they asked me for (shot list, contact list) but they were super sweet about everything! They definitely can deal with a stressed out bride and groom very well! Our package included an engagement shoot but my fiance had to travel and then the one night it would have worked, it rained so I cancelled-again, very accommodating. I wish we would have had the time to do the engagement shots but it just didn't pan out! Hopefully we will do a shoot with them sometime in the near future! So, day of the wedding--pouring rain! My dream outdoor wedding was ruined and at the last minute we had to go with Plan B. Jane and Steve were prepped for the rain (we did a few shots outside under an umbrella with a light in it and let me tell you those pictures came out amazing!). They also worked extremely hard to keep me occupied and do a full-out bridal shoot due to some important members of our wedding party that were late. They went above and beyond to make our day extra special--they even helped pin flowers and fix my veil throughout the evening! I don't even know if they ate anything because they were constantly shooting (I have Italian guilt about this still)! They even stayed late because we ran over our time so much due to the wedding starting so late. They were by far the rockstar vendors of our wedding! On-time, professional, kind, worked well under pressure and did it all with a smile on their face! Fast-forward eight weeks and our pictures arrived via email on their site. I had a few questions about some shots and they addressed them right away. The pictures came out absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! I showed them to some of my friends and they told me they looked like pictures from a magazine. Steve and Jane, thank you for being so amazing, professional, fun and great at what you do! Yesterday was no different as my other experiences with her, that while I was speaking to her asking her a question about something, she rudely cut me off, answered the phone, turned her back and started talking to the person on the phone. There were other employees not with customers that could've taken the call. I will never be back to this place thanks to her constant lack of customer service.

I just wanted one to fit for a temporary time I have water coming in the morning and I knew they weren't going to have the exact one. They had other O-ring hanging on the wall, but they refused to help me find one that would fit. So I can't hear Ken let me to ring and we found one that would fit temporary so I could start to pull up for water tomorrow. Thank you.
