Tequila tasting
Pam S.

We really enjoyed this beach in March 2023! We got off the cruise ship & didn't have any plans. We talked with a guy at a booth by the shopping stores. He told us everything we could expect to have at the beach & he explained the cost for taxi's & admission. It made good sense to spend the afternoon at a beach that serves food/drinks & has lots of water sports. He explained what was included on the paid beach: tequila tasting, lounge chairs, water trampoline & play station, canoe, water boards, & snorkeling. For extra cost you can rent jet ski, get a massage, order food & drinks & there's some shopping. The guys went on jet skis & had the time of their lives, while I got one of the best massages ever!!! This beach front isn't very big, but plenty of lounge chairs & room in the under cover restaurant! We ordered fajita's & margaritas. Everything tasted really good. The staff are very nice & friendly. They had a mariachi band walking around that played a favorite song of ours! I would recommend this beach & for sure go back!

Now, this beach club isn't the nicest but we were doing a private boat snorkeling excursion through them and didn't care too much about what the club was like. There isn't much beach... it's very rocky so bring swim shoes but the water is clear and there are SOOOOO MANY FISH. We got some drinks and food, both were delicious..before heading out on our excursion. We booked the El Gordooo private boat. The crew was AMAZING! Denise(the photographer) was soooo friendly and extremely professional, Jorge and Rigo (the captain) made sure we were comfortable and even accommodated our trip to make it more suitable for all ages. The food and drinks they provided were DELICIOUS. If you are planning a snorkeling excursion I HIGHLY recommend. We definitely plan to come back

fish photo bomb!

Tortugas Beach Club was our last stop on our private jeep tour excursion! A little stretch of beach with plenty of options for activities! We stopped here for lunch and snorkeling and were greeted by a blue painted man- dressed as a God? Picture time! And yes we bought the picture! lol, we strolled past a little shop selling pharmaceuticals, another hut with fish pedicures- Garra rufa, and made our way to the deck overlooking the water. The bar had swings for guests and there were plenty of tables. We enjoyed fajitas and quesadilla as well as chips and pico~ which was amazing! After lunch we went out the side of the deck and over to the snorkel gear hut and got ready- there is a metal ramp off the deck that leads right into the water for easy access (some of the beach is rocky) and as soon as we had our masks and fins on we were off for the best adventure of the day! It had been raining and dreary all morning- but the afternoon warmed up and the fish obviously didn't care about the rain! We had clear waters for our viewing pleasures. As soon as we put our face in the water- scores of tropical fish were right there! We made a large loop following our tour guide. Israel from Cozumel Cruise Excursions was our snorkel guide on top of our jeep tour guide! He dove down and showed us urchins, yellow sting rays, and spiny lobsters in addition to all the coral and reefs and various species of fish! I honestly could have done that for much longer~ it was breathtaking. Icing on the cake? A photographer met us on the water with fish food and took pictures of us snorkeling! We even had a great fish photo bomb picture! Something else we purchased! How could we not?

DO NOT TRUST THEM We are two couples who bought the Tortugas private jeep tour and also parasailing We should have known as soon as we got on board that they are TOTALLY unprofessional. The two person "crew" left the pier without ANY safety instructions or drills. After about ten minutes into the sea they asked us (one couple) to get on the deck to link up the harness to the parachute. We went up in less than a minute and at about 150 feet above the water heard repeated loud "clicks" as if the rope was under tremendous strain. After 4-5 minutes we signaled that we wanted to come down. The crew started bringing us down and within a minute disaster struck and the rope SNAPPED and we found ourselves in the water. The crew did not react for several minutes as they were in shock Finally they steered the boat towards us when another disaster almost happened - the boat almost rammed my head at high speed as the "captain" was totally panicked. His assistant then got into the water to help us get to the ladder to climb on to the boat. When asked what happened he claimed that it happens to all companies every 2-3 years! I asked him old the rope was and he said it had nothing to do with the rope but the "physics" of the high wind and the waves! When we got back to the beach club he had the audacity to offer a refund of USD80 out of $280!!! After a heated argument he returned all the money. Outrageous that they operate with ZERO safety drills, training and unsafe equipment.

We arrived around 11 a.m. and were greeted by staff who immediately asked if we had reservations…read more When we told them we didn't, they informed us that we would be charged $20 per person--including children--to use the chairs and showers unless we ordered both food and drinks for each person. Their tone came across as aggressive and somewhat rude, which was surprising, but we assured them it wasn't an issue since we planned to order food and drinks anyway. Still, their approach left a sour first impression. This used to be our favorite spot 12 years ago when it was open to the public and free to enter. Back then, ordering food and drinks was optional, but the place has since changed under the ownership of Landmark Corp. Public access is no longer allowed without meeting their requirements or paying a fee. There are a few important things to note: sunscreen is not allowed, and there is no lifeguard on duty, so swimming and snorkeling are entirely at your own risk. The menu now caters primarily to tourists, featuring westernized dishes with a touch of Mexican cuisine. Prices are similar to what you'd find in the U.S., which is expected for a tourist destination. Cruise ships frequently drop off passengers here, so lounge chairs tend to fill up quickly until they leave. Additionally, paying by credit card incurs a transaction fee, so using pesos is the better option. If I hadn't come with my kids--and if visiting the Money Bar wasn't the main reason for our trip to Cozumel--I might have walked away. This place holds so many special memories from when we were single and used to travel to Mexico often, but the changes have made it feel far less welcoming than it once was.

Came here to access the beach. Minimum requirement to spend a food and a drink per person to use…read moretheir amenities and to use the beach, kinda ripoff policy but this is what you get most of the places around Cancun, Tulum, and Cozumel. Kinda figure out if you cannot beat the system then go along with it. The food and service is alright at this place. There are some waves and current at the beach, kinda have to put some effort to swim and to snorkle in here. I would say this isnt the best place to enjoy the beach. If you go down more to the south you may find better beach, say Playa Palancar ; ) So, next time skip this place and go down more south ; )

We visited Mr. Sancho's Beach Club in Cozumel during a cruise stop and had a fantastic experience…read more The beach club is about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from the cruise port where the ships dock. When we got off the ship there was a line of taxis ready to go and the ride cost $20 for two people one way. When we arrived, the staff greeted us and guided us to the front desk where we checked in for our reservation. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time because it definitely helps expedite your entrance. One thing worth noting is that when we booked online it didn't show cabanas available, but when we arrived the host checked and was able to get us into one. I highly recommend getting a cabana if one is available because it gives you a nice private area to relax. That said, there are also plenty of tables with covered umbrellas that provide shade from the sun. What really stood out about this place was the level of service. It was incredibly attentive. I honestly don't think we ever waited more than a few minutes before someone came by asking if we needed another drink or more food. Our servers were Juan and Pops/Eric and both of them were fantastic. It felt like every time I turned my head one of them was checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They offer all-inclusive food and you can either go up to the buffet or order directly from the menu and have it delivered to your table or cabana. The property also has multiple pools, massage services, swim-up areas, and gift shops around the resort. At one point what appeared to be a manager came by and asked how we heard about the place and checked in on how our experience was going. That really reinforced how focused they are on service. The location is right on the beach so you get beautiful ocean views while enjoying unlimited food and drinks throughout the day. Overall Mr. Sancho's delivers a great beach day experience with excellent service and it's definitely a place I would visit again when returning to Cozumel.

I know it was the nachos because my husband and I ate the same things yesterday with the exception of the imitation crab on the nachos. When they sat them down and I saw it was imitation crab I was disappointed but it was late and I was hungry. My husband ate maybe a few bites and he picked the imitation crab off. He said the nachos tasted disgusting to him. We went back to our room, and about 3 hours later I woke up and immediately started projectile vomiting. I spent most of the night in the bathroom feeling like I was going to die. I thought the imitation crab tasted a little off, but just chalked it up to being different than what I'm used to in the states. Big MISTAKE. I've managed to slow down in the vomiting and trips to the bathroom but I still feel awful. Nauseated, headache (probably from dehydration), stomach pain and back pain....I assume that's from how hard I was retching. We will never go back. Food poisoning is not something I give any additional chances for. If you've had it, you understand.
