Gift shopping! Exciting store open and shopping in progress. Loved the staff as they were so friendly and helpful. The store was well stocked only exception was the undies area. They lacked more than several types of there Disney line, also there shoe selection of less than 8 pairs to choose from. I love torrid shoes they always have the cutest available. Although the items I went searching for were unavailable. I ultimately had to end that gift shopping and do shopping for myself found 2 blouses in there clearance area today was buy one get one free happy camper here. Always loved these deals at Torrid. Went in and there were 2 white older ladies working, they didn't greet me, nothing. After looking for what I was looking for with no help I was ready for a fitting room, but no one lady was at the register I guess just waiting time to pass by and the other just walked by me twice stared at me and went into the back room. As she (old heavier white lady with short hair) came out after like 10 min I asked her if I could get a fitting room and she said nothing just walked towards the fitting rooms and said "here have this one." Honestly this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a torrid. I'm not trying to bring up the race card but maybe they treated me differently because I'm Mexican, regardless their customer service was horrible. read more

Absolutely love this store! My fiancee and I went shopping there for an outfit for me to wear to his bachelor's party... One of the sales clerks, Molly, and the Store Manager, Beth, were extremely helpful and friendly and put an outfit together for me that wowed everyone! Accessories, shoes, the works! Yes, the prices are a bit steep, but you get "Haute Cash" and that alone makes it worth it to shop there! Us curvy girls (as well as us OLDER curvy girls) like to look and feel sexy as well! Some of the things they carry are more suitable for the much younger crowd, but with Molly and Beth's help I found two outfits that make me look "Smokin' Hot" - in my eyes AND the eyes of my fiancee. One of the dresses I loved there was on clearance and they didn't have any left in my size - so when I got home that night I found that same dress at their website and ordered it from there as well as a skirt and a bangle bracelet... and earned MORE Haute Cash! I would highly recommend for you to just avoid torrid! I have had so many issues online, through the phone and in store. Please do not sign up for the credit card as you will be dealing with cancelled orders, orders sent to the wrong place and employees who do not know how policies work in store or through customer service. I went today to spend some money on my torrid credit card and use some of my torrid cash and the employee could not explain to me how torrid cash worked because she didn't know how it worked. She kept telling me I was confused and she didn't know how to explain it to me without confusing me more, as if I was incompetent but she herself could not comprehend how the rewards worked and could not break it down for me. On top of this she was extremely rude and the manager who knew how to properly explain it for me was on lunch. If you are a manager and you are leaving employees on their own you should make sure they know how the policies work. Avoid this store and if you can't avoid torrid altogether please avoid their credit card! Really no benefit and you will receive a plethora of negative experiences on the phone and in store. read more

I bought boots there a month ago but hadn't had a chance to wear them because it wasn't cold enough. Had a housewarming party and wore them for a couple hours inside. They were so tight on my feet I had to take them off. I took them to the store and the manager would not return them because she said there were visible signs of wearing them and told me she would not take them back. So now I'm stuck with a pair of boots that I can't wear. As much money as I spent in there she could've accommodated me. She was rude about it. read more

The is the closest Torrid to where I live . I've been a long time Torrid shopper. I recently came to buy work pants. After I spent $200, I went home to an item missing from my bag. I called the store right away and she knew exactly who I was. I asked her if she could mail me the item since I'm hardly ever in their area. She said no , I'd have to come pick it up. They have no access to mail items. But would accommodate me with coupons to the store . A week later I happen to be driving thru, I pick up my item. My partner and I found out the hard way that if you are a Lesbian don't shop at this store! They will make it very clear, you are not going to be greeted when you come into the store or asked to be helped. Nope. We were passed by at least 3 times before we caught on. The employees walked past us to greet others, passed us again to greet others who just came in. However if appear to be straight, carry on. Little do they know straight folks will tell 10 people their experience! The Gay Community will use social media and tell thousands!!
