There was a lovely woman working the kids section who offered to help if I needed it and told me about all of their promos. They were very well stocked with a variety of sizes in the toddler section. They usually have a nice sales section in the back and most of the time, they have 50-60% off extra on those sale items. I did not see anything that I liked, but I did check some of their pants and socks. Nice selecion. In 1989, J.Crew opened its first retail store, in South Street Seaport in downtown Manhattan..today there are hundreds of stores, mostly in the USA, but also in some international locales.

Noses in the air. Even when you chase them down to help you ... they act like the waiter in Ferris Beauller's Day Off. I do find myself shopping here more than I'd like and each time I feel ignored by the staff, or like I am annoying them with anything I ask. I have been to other Banana Republic stores which are much friendlier and the staff actually seem to want to help me buy clothes. The Garden City location is just terrible.

I didn't really know what to start as I was unsure about the styles and sizes. I grabbed a few leggings thinking I would just figure it out on my own. When I asked for a fitting room, I mentioned to the employee it was my first experience and I would have questions. From that moment on she clung to me like my personal shopper. She was grabbing different leggings and sizes to help me find the perfect fit. She was honest about the material, wear and tear, and for that I am so grateful. I walked out of there with my first pair of leggings, less intimidation of the store, and knowledge about the sizes and styles. Thank you! (I think her name was Julianne). I hope my other experiences are as great as this one. As for the store, it is very quaint but also has a homey feel to it. I was in the store for 20-30 minutes. I noticed this trend when any older lady came in. They only greeted the younger teens. They had personal conversations about the Hunger Games and Harry Potter while I was the only one in the store. On the other hand, the woman named Diamond was very nice and respectful. She noticed that I was not being helped and was not judgmental at all. I was put off by the other 2 ladies and felt that they were very unprofessional.
