Really cute options. I thought this was a thrift store, buts more of a vintage store. I still wasn't a fan of the prices though, a little too high for second hand. If I could give 3.5, I would! I still would go back if im in the area, I just saw more than a few things that shouldn't be the prices they are and that was a little hard for me to see. Many of the prices are worth it though, don't get me wrong! Cute little location downtown, but I wonder if location = high price. read more

Visited early am on Memorial Day , was greeted by a very friendly store attended with bright yellow shorter hair. This is my 2nd time at the store and I had great success. Loving vintage is hard because often things don't fit but this time I hit gold. I found 3 adorable dresses that felt like they were made just for me. Another A+ shot out to store worker who again very friendly , let me into the dressing room & told me if i didnt like any of the items to bring them to her and she would reorganize and rehang. Vintage comes with blemishes I do understand that sometimes but I feel like many items had large holes and stains and still were over $50. I bought 3 dresses for a total of $180+ , my favorite one and most expensive one at $78 had the best print but did have stitching problems & certainly had been well loved/worn. It was surprising to find a big vintage store in the glorious downtown where you'd think there would be department stores and fashiony boutiques, but those must be somewhere else in the mixed up world of today (the mall?). The Vault gets big points from us for their tag descriptions of eras being actually accurate! How rare is that? Prices are okay. There is a section of more recent designer label ridiculousness if that interests you, but most of the stock when we visited was '50s-'90s I think, with some earlier and some later. Love to shop again but we don't live here. :( read more

I am a huge vintage clothing maven, and no trip to Providence is complete without a visit to the Vault Collective on Westminster Street! It's a vintage lover's paradise, with racks upon racks of men's and women's clothing from the 1950s-1990s, and everything in between. You could spend hours sifting through the wide selection, and then playing dress up in one of the many fitting rooms, which is my favorite way to spend an afternoon! Lots of the clothing comes from local dealers, and is separated into sections based on who brought it in. If you like a certain dealer, they list their information so that you can connect with them through their online profiles to see more of their inventory. As other reviewers have said, the average prices are around $40-$50 which can seem a bit steep when there are other thrift stores that have equally great merchandise nearby (the Savers in Providence is awesome, just saying). But let's be honest - these are actually pretty decent prices for vintage clothes that are as high quality as the inventory at Vault Collective. I've never seen ripped or damaged pieces for sale here, and that's an anomaly among vintage stores. If you know that the prices aren't bargains, but rather fair for the quality before coming in, you won't be disappointed. The clerks are helpful and unobtrusive, letting you shop and browse at your own pace, without offering help every two seconds, which is nice. Very cute store! Clean and well organized, The Vault houses selections of vintage clothing from several local vintage sellers. Each seller has their own section set up that you can browse and then there is a designer section. Most stuff is 60s and newer, with a few older pieces scattered about. A bit on the pricy side, which normally I understand cause vintage isn't thrift and it takes time and effort to clean, repair, and source unique vintage pieces, however there was a pair of newer boots in the designer section priced over $400 that you can find on poshmark for $50. Not even vintage, definitely from the last 20 if not the last 10 years. Do your research before purchasing to make sure you're not scammed. Staff is super nice, they greet you when you enter and are helpful if you need it without stalking your every move like some other retail stores. read more

It's a thrift store that calls itself vintage to jack up prices. Go to goodwill or any thrift store instead. An 85$ Pawtucket Red Sox sweatshirt. Should be 2.99. Very little here is worth more than 10$ and yet most item are well over 30$. I'm guessing they have friends/family writing some of the good reviews. Don't be stupid and waste a dime here. read more

This review is long over due. I visited Providence in Feb 2020 and went into The Vault Collective. The store was clean and the collection was vast, varied and reasonably priced. I left the store pleased with my purchases. Later, I noticed the discounts weren't applied at check out and made note of this via Square. Within the hour Sydney responded. She updated me every step of the way - talking with the cashier, reviewing the tags and receipts, etc. By 9:30 the next morning, I had received credit for the difference. It was on me to review the receipt before I left the store and I'm glad Sydney honored the discounts after the fact. Her professionalism is impressive. Endless selections. We were a little disabling when we arrived as there was a sign on the door that they stepped out for a few minutes and we drove there just for them. However on the upside they were back when they said they would be so that is a big plus. My daughter bought a shirt there. They had a lot of nice clothes and much of great coats. Staff is friendly yet also lets you do you and browse without bother. Plenty of dressing rooms. In a nice location but do have to pay for parking down the road or on the street. I love vintage shops and the vault collective is a nicely organized little store with a powerful inventory. The medium sized space is well filled with treasures from all generations. The booths, but set up like an antique market, boast each sellers style. The staff is always welcoming and kind when I enter. I always admire the clothing and finds here, but I rarely make a purchase. Unfortunately, as I can assume with anyone's rent in the city the unique finds are very much marked up, deterring me from loving anything too much. There is a very large selection of women's goods, but a very small men's selection. read more

Pretty much everything you could ask for in a secondhand store: the employees are really nice, the merchandise is well organized, and the store itself is clean and appealing. Even though I've been here multiple times, I totally didn't realize until reading the Yelp page that the store is comprised of different vendors' booths, since everything seems so cohesive. There seems to be a better selection in the men's section, which is about half the size of the women's section, but I'm not sure if that's due to the women's clothes being more picked over or my personal taste. Most items are around $40, which is a bit high for me personally, but I don't mind that they mark up from thrift stores to save you the effort of combing through everything. It was a little funny to find a Savers price tag for $50 on a pair of shoes selling for $85, though. Basically, as long as you don't come here expecting a bargain, you'll be satisfied! read more

And their excuse is always "the reason they're so expensive is because we fix second hand clothing" ok? i don't care. also bs. i found a 70 dollar coat there that was missing buttons and all of them were loose. i've found lots of expensive clothing there that wasn't even in great condition or just shouldnt have been expensive at all. 30 dollars for a plain white t shirt? ridiculous. wouldn't recommend unless you don't care about spending stupid amounts of money. read more

Nicely organized little store. They have a decent sized women's section and a very small men's section. The men's dressing rooms are not really sturdy. While the store is nicely organized into sections by period, everything is overpriced. Perhaps I'm not the intended target, but why would I pay more for preowned clothes than new clothes? I would shop here if the prices were more reasonable. read more

Went here for the first time today!!! Really cute sweatshirts and t-shirts. Wanted to find some jeans and shorts but there were absolutely none in my size. If you're a size 8 and up, you'll really enjoy shopping here. I am a size 0-2 which is unfortunate with this store. Very cute tops and jackets though so I would probably go back for that. read more
