Was recommended using them by a Home Brewer who lives in Hamilton area and said he was a regular customer of theirs. So I decided to place an order, for a large ticket item, I'd been eyeing for a while. They confirmed the order and I was excited, they had a comparable price and the expected delivery date lined up with the completion date for a batch I had running. Well the delivery window came and passed, so I reached out, took two emails and 3 days to get a response from Zack, who apologized, and said he would get back to me with an update... Another week passes and no follow up. Placed a complaint with their pay service provider and then got another response from Zack, again apologized but this time saying they didn't have my item and they where waiting for the another shipment next month and offered a store credit (if they can't fulfill orders they already have taken payment for - why would anyone order more from them?). So curiously I reviewed their website and they were selling the same item I ordered but in a different package & they advertised as being in stock. I offered to take this in exchange for what I paid for and they could apply the offered store credit to cover the cost difference. Thought I was being reasonable and wanted to avoid having to fight for a refund and the nonsense of having to wait weeks for it to be credited back to me. Almost a week later, Still no response from Zack or the Toronto Brewing Company with either confirmation that they accepted my resolution (with tracking details it has been shipped) or that they have started to process my refund. TLDR; customer service non existent for web customers, empty promises, zero communication. STAY AWAY AT THIS POINT IT FEELS LIKE IM BEING SCAMMED. Incompetence, lies, scammers. Currently I am in my 6th month waiting for order fulfillment. Original delay was 2 months, so we are officially 4 months behind schedule. This rating doesn't take into account the delay for my order - i think that is out of their control since it was a backorder item. The reason for my 1 star review is there has been zero communication up to this point from Toronto Brewing. I have reached out multiple times through every channel available to me trying to get an answer about the status of my order, reason for additional delays, anything. Up until today I have been completely in the dark for 6 months what these guys have done with the 2500 dollars I have given them. 2 months ago I was mad. At this point im starting to feel like im getting scammed. The only way I have managed to talk to someone is by phone (despite sending multiple emails they haven't replied to a single one yet) and ive gotten through multiple times by phone, but the conversation every time has been "Oh yes. Sorry I have no information for you, but we will contact you in X days and make sure this gets dealt with" Guess how many times they have called me back? 0 Today I called them repeatedly until they finally stayed on the phone with me to give me another "We will call you back with more info in 2 days" 15 days ago they said "We will call you back in 10 days" Guess they forgot again hey? I will honestly be stunned if I receive a call from them at this point. This is the 5th time they have given me an answer like this... they have returned my call 0 times. We could include the emails I've sent them too, I think 6 of those, to which they have replied... 0 times. I will be posting this review as many places as I can. Toronto brewing if you see this and reply - there is nothing you can do at this point to change my mind. I have extended multiple opportunities for you to stop this incompetence. You have failed. At this point if my order shows up with the right items I will be surprised. I purchased 3 Blichmann Riptide pumps online July 19 2025. The site did not indicate that they did not have stock so when I did nto recive them in a few weeks I emailed to find out the tracking information. Toronto Brewing replied that they were waiting on an order form the supplier..... Months go by with no pumps and nobody reaching out to give a refund. Several times I was told the pumps will arrive in a couple weeks but its Jan 29 2026, still no pumps delivered and they still have my $1373.82. Terrible customer service and 0 cares given. After hearing nothing but great things about the Toronto Brewing establishments, I'm very disappointed in the wait times on shipping. I placed an order back in May, nothing too crazy, 3 simple items totaling just over $100. Although I didn't see any estimated ship times when I placed my order it's now Sept 7th and I'm still waiting on arrival. I've asked for updates on 4 separate occasions and although Zach has been getting back to me, and offered to waive the shipping, I think anyone would agree that 4 months for 3 simple items is completely unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer for many years, spending thousands of dollars, and now I realize that my loyalty means nothing. In August 2024, I ordered a complete Spike Solo system, having saved up for it. The website indicated a wait time of 5-6 weeks for Spike to manufacture it, and I paid over $4,000 for the order. However, after five months without any updates, I discovered that Toronto Brewing had not submitted my order until I contacted my credit card company. Spike Brewing confirmed this through email correspondence, where they stated they had no knowledge of my order until the bank initiated a chargeback against Toronto Brewing, prompting them to take action, Sad. During those five months, I communicated with Toronto Brewing via phone and email. Initially, I assumed the best and hoped I wasn't being scammed, even though that thought crossed my mind numerous times. By the time twelve weeks had passed, I expected Toronto Brewing to be honest with me, but their responses became increasingly frustrating as they would react to my emails vs responding to them. They offered me free items and discounts on my purchase, and one representative even replied to my email with an attitude, suggesting that I could always cancel my order. By this point, it was already late November early December. I informed Toronto Brewing that I would contact my credit card company if I did not receive any tracking information or the system I ordered by December 20. Unfortunately, I never received the promised tracking information despite their repeated assurances. On December 20, 2024, I reached out to my credit card company and initiated the clam process due to the lack of product delivery. When my bank asked why I waited so long to report this issue, I explained that I was trying to give Toronto Brewing the benefit of the doubt. However, my trust was ultimately broken. Approximately 20 days later, on January 15, 2025, I received 75% of my order. Toronto Brewing displayed a lack of professionalism and refused to be transparent while I sought legal recourse. It became clear to me that their behaviour was fraudulent since they did not disclose that they were holding my order until they received others to qualify for discounts from Spike Brewing, as indicated in their emails. I have been a loyal customer for many years, so I struggled to understand why they treated me this way. If they had been upfront about their plans from the beginning, I don't think I would be in this situation today. Additionally, I reported this issue to my bank, which has opened a file for investigation. I was informed that it might take some time, so I must be patient. I want to warn anyone considering purchasing expensive items: avoid Toronto Brewing and buy directly from the manufacturer. Even if you have to deal with shipping from the U.S. and the associated currency exchange costs, I've found that it is still reasonably priced in the end. In February 2025, I had some points left from my previous purchases and attempted to redeem them to save some money. However, when I tried to use them, my order was cancelled within minutes. This demonstrated their complete lack of professionalism and the lack of integrity. I ordered a seal for my airstill of their web site, by selecting the item off the menu. Then clicked one unit, then hit add to cart and go to checkout and pay. When the shipment arrived it was a seal for a totaly different unit. I called them and stated that I recieved the wrong part, was then told I had made the mistake not them. I explained that ordering directly of the items location on that page it is impossible to order wrong. They still insisted I made the error. Subsequent Email later I was offered the right part after sending them the wrong part back first. I got the part elswere and told them to refund my card. I was refunded the cost of the item, but still ended up paying the shipping charges out to me and for the return, a total of $16.51 out off pocket for their screw-up. read more

You can either order their supplies online or drop in to their retail store. Finding it is a little tricky as it is located at the back of the building in a warehouse setting. Hops? Malts? Bottles? Starting Kit? Or even pots of hops that you can grow in your own garden? I want a garden of hops.... But for the time being I would stick with all the beer glassware they offers from the local craft breweries: Barnstormer, Black Oak, Cassel, Church-Key and more! I bought for $200 on the 8th of dec. received my order very quickly but found that my thermometer was broken, emailed them and they said they would send out a new one asap.After a couple of email exchanges... I'm still waiting. Had to buy one from a wine store nearby. In full disclosure, I've not actually visited this location of Toronto Brewing, but that's because you don't actually need to! After the closing of their Dundas West location, they are now offering free delivery of website orders, which get delivered from this Chesswood location to a variety of local breweries including Black Oak, Indie Alehouse, Lansdowne Brewery, Left Field, and Muddy York. Order by Wednesday at noon and have delivered for free by Friday. So this has made it possible to put in an order for grains, hops, or brewing equipment mid week and have in time for brew day on the weekend. This is a pretty sweet thing. On the flip side, while the delivery is great, their actual location is so out of the way that I miss the ability of being able to come in a store and actually pick the brains of the employees and discuss brewing options and ingredients... It was the in store experience of actually talking to people that was helpful. It helped me move to a Brew-In-A-Bag method and I was able to get insight into recipe tweaks and such. Equipment wise, while not always the best pricing they do have all the essentials at somewhat competitive pricing at least. My biggest complaint about online selection is that I find their pre-milled malts are limited in selection which makes some ingredients hard to get. It would be a lot cooler if you could order other malts and have them milled as small time brewers like myself don't always have the resources to do the milling. Despite the good and the bad, the convenience of the delivery service makes this a 4 star operation. After all, my next 2 brew works in progress will depend on items I've ordered through them. Are you a hobby brewer? An aspiring hobby brewer? Operating a brewery? Do you just like the smell of grains? You should probably be checking out Toronto Brewing. If you don't have a car, the location is absolutely super inconvenient. It's not as far as Manitoba, and the TTC does service the area. As a carshare user I plan my trips to the shop around my vehicle usage. If you own a car or have regular access to one then it's obviously no big deal. If you're going to buy equipment you'll need a vehicle anyway. Alternatively, you can always order everything off their website and they offer a wide range of delivery options. Ultimately, the selection of grains to use in beer making, plus the wide variety of hops varietals and yeast strains offered more than make up for the industrial park location. The owners also offer workshops every few weeks that you can attend and learn more about brewing where you'll brew a batch together and sample some beers that others had already created. I've been brewing for 6-7 years to date and as far as supply shops go for this stuff, Toronto Brewing is one of the best. Most of the critical reviews I've read seem to be people with unrealistic expectations and/or just feel entitled. Here they offer all the equipment you could need (plus lots more you don't but might want anyway). They have an inventory of product so you can make things from scratch, or you can buy things in kit forms. Their staff is super super knowledgeable and easy going. If you have questions they'll have answers (or at least try). If you don't have questions, then experiment! read more

I have used Toronto Brewing numerous times. From when they were operating out of their home in the Yonge & Eglington area, the new location, as well as online orders. As far as product goes, these guys carry the usual quality Brew Supply stuff from Briess, Brewers Best, Blichman and so on. The smaller items such as bottling wands, siphons and plastic mash paddles are much cheaper in quality compared to other suppliers, and I would recommend avoiding these items. The store was fairly organized and clean. It is located in a very inconvenient location for anyone downtown without a vehicle, yet worth throwing a friend some gas money to save on shipping cost. Attention to detail, communication and customer service are not strong qualities from my observation. Grains have been switched, hops substituted and ingredients just plain forgotten. While the grain and hop substitutions were with similar profile ingredients, not once was I ever informed of the change. When ingredients were missing, they did offer a refund on my account, but never once was there an apology for the mistake nor did anyone take ownership or even seem like they cared. All in all I feel the 2 stars describe my personal experience perfectly "Meh, I've experienced better" I do sincerely wish these guys all the best with their success, Hopefully this review reminds them to keep customers informed, regardless of how small the change. Well, this place generally leaves me feeling like I've been ripped off by my sweet aunt. I have officially made my last visit there for good. Cons - Most prices are not written anywhere so unless you verify the prices on the website before going you're left having to constantly ask a clerk the prices. This is the type of place where you'll get a surprise (not a nice one) when you're at the cash because almost everything here is overpriced. Lalvin yeast I normally pay 75 cents for at the wine supply store near me is $2.50 here. Most grains are more expensive. In fact this is the most expensive place I've bought grains from. I bought 3 pounds of grain on my last visit and was charged $1.75 to mill it myself in the rickety 'mill' they have that rarely works properly. I was charged $1.75 each for two plastic bags ($3.50) on a separate visit to put the grains in that I bought and milled myself and I wasn't told this. It was just added to my bill which I only saw once I checked my email because they only email you the receipt (no paper receipt) so there's no way to check it after you buy your stuff and think to yourself "Wait a minute, I got charged THAT much for this!?" Cash only - no debit, no credit cards. Pros - They're almost the only brew shop open in Toronto on a Sunday. My advice - plan ahead and do your shopping any other day of the week elsewhere. In closing - I have to say that they have a lot of equipment and it's pleasing to the eyes when you walk through the place but it's just eye candy. The guys are super friendly too so it almost seems ok that you're getting ripped off. My feeling after I leave the place is exactly that. It feels like they're trying to milk every possible cent out of you which to me isn't very good business. How to make this better - put prices on ALL your products. Don't charge people for plastic bags (or charge cost). Don't charge for milling. Offer it to your customers, it invites people to come back. Otherwise it's just being stingy. Brew North on Queen street is cheaper on everything, the guy will mill your grains for you in his superb, reliable mill and put it in a bag and not charge you for the bag or the milling. read more

Do not do business with this company ! Poor customer service and expensive products ! I bought a beer starter kit and after it arrived I opened the box to look at the instructions and the supplies. After reading the instructions I decided that I no longer wanted to keep this product since the instructions were hard to follow and the starter kit only made 10 bottles of beer so I called the company and asked if I could return the product. None of the ingredients had been opened and were all in their original unopened sealed packages.To my surprise they said they do not accept returns only exchange but they had nothing that I was interested in exchanging the beer kit for. I followed up with an email as they suggested to request a refund after my return but to my surprise they did not even have the courtesy to respond to my two emails. In this day of online and internet marketing a company that does not accept returns is not a company you want to do business with. read more
