However, it is normally cheap - sorta like Aldi's but not quite as good. They do have some decent breads though and they have some great specials from time to time, but about the only reason we ever shop at a Save A Lot store is when I don't want to travel too far for some quick food! The place is semi clean, but it's another store where I have to either bring my own bags or buy them - and to be honest - give it up - the prices are that great and the service isn't the best either.

In store sub line still sucks and it's still slow, but if you pre-order on the app for pickup it's great 80% of the time now. They did cut the meat portions by like 50% in the last 2 1/2 years,forget things like the extra oil on the side, cut it wrong, forget toppings, skimp on toppings... here and there, but it's better than it was. Sushi: 4.5 stars out of 5. Filling portions have gone down some in the last 2 1/2 years, but quality is still good. It's rare to get old mushy avocado in their sushi now. They always have great new rolls to try. Staff are always friendly working that section too. Pizza: 3 stars out of 5. Dead carts, carts not plugged in to charge, carts setting in the parking lot or abandoned because they died somewhere in the store! Other than Tops, Walmart is the ONLY place in town that provides scooter carts. Now, we can't even depend on those! I'd finally had enough the other day after I picked up a nearly dead cart in the parking lot. I went to complain at the Service desk. There were others their with their own issues. The man working behind the counter raised his voice at everyone and told a girl to shut the lights off, which she did. They then walked off and left everyone standing there! I approached a long time employee to discuss my frustration about this ongoing cart issue. Her answer to me? Well, you know, we don't even have to have carts here. We provide them as a service, but we don't have to WOW, just wow! I asked for the managers name so I could address myself to her directly. I was told Colleen but gee, nobody knew her last name! This Wal mart used to be a great place to shop. Under this manager, it's gone down the tubes. Shelves are bare, shopping carts are full of garbage that employees can't be bothered to remove, customers issues are ignored plus so many more issues Soon, the college kids will be back, joy riding through the store on these essential mobility aids and nobody will say a word! Apparently, handicapped shoppers are not needed, welcomed or respected at Walmart Fredonia. My only recourse is to try to bring my own scooter, which I can't unload and load myself, or drive to Hamburg or Lakewood to cleaner, well stocked, customer oriented shopping experience. When I handed her my rolls she said "oh sure you want those big rolls" as if she were judging me based on my purchase and then when it came to the clams, she rang them up and said wait a minute this isn't right I got to see then she saw the price tag marked 3.49 and then she gave me a side eyed look as if I was the one that put the price tag there? Strike two. And then to top it all off very carefully. She said I had to bag my own groceries myself having experience as a cashier never in my life have I seen a cashier tell the customer to bag their own products that should be the cashier's job and for the stellar service everyone raves about that's the complete opposite strike three. On the day that we visited, Falconer Meats was hosting an event called "MEAT US IN THE COUNTRY". Vendors were selling handcrafted items and farm stand produce. There was a BBQ food truck as well as an ice cream food truck. A winery was offering samples! It was an absolute delight to meet the nice folks from llama Adventures at Buffalo Creek, displaying their animals, as well as some of their handcrafted llama fur items. They are well known for their llama events, including birthday parties, weddings, family, reunions, etc..

This store is not busy for large portions of the evening yet somehow it's hard for the door watchers to be friendly And it seems like every time they hire a new employee they need to be babied for a month to learn how to provide reasonable customer service.
