Opened a business line of credit with TD as well as a checking account several years ago. Early…read moreon, my checking account was closed (without my knowledge) and I was told I would now have to go in person to a branch each month to make payments on my line of credit. Instead, I decided to make automated payments through my Wells Fargo bank account to TD. My payments were $189 per month and I have been paying $500 month (which is automated) from the beginning. Each month I was receiving late fees on my statements. I called the branch and could not reach anyone. I called the 1-800 and spoke with someone there. They were supposed to look into my statements and get back to me. That was about 7 months ago. I called again just recently (the 800 number) I was given the name and number of my loan officer. After many phone calls, I was told the late fee stems from the $250 annual fee for the line of credit. Mind you, I have been paying more than double each month then what is required. There answer to me was the annual fee is separate from the loan total and would have to be paid separate. This is the most ludicrous explanation I have ever heard. Not to mention, I have never received any calls from any loan officer at all. No customer service calls, no check ins, no calls to explain why I am receiving late fees even though I am paying more than double on a monthly basis. The worst customer service and banking experience I have ever had. Do not walk, RUN!

This is also been my experience with the other TD Bank located around the campus area, in the suburbs and also in New Jersey. They're short, rude, and unresponsive. Customer service is one of the main details associated with every bank. When you house your money with an institution it is a choice. You're allowing the bank to even utilize your funds while they're there. You want to know that your money is safe but also that you receive good customer service and respect from the bank and it's employees should you need to visit a branch. I was not given that the MULTIPLE times I had to visit TD bank branches and it is really off-putting. I believe they hire young, but also sometimes unqualified individuals who say they're good at customer service to get the job but are really not. I have had much better customer service whenever I called over the phone but even then there were a few times I can recall. I have since decided to move on from TD as my main bank. Between their lacking customer service and their lackluster services it just wasn't worth it. In this day and age there are much better options. Those looking for a new bank should really do some research beforehand.
