As a person who has much experience of traditional Italian fare in Italy, I was expecting good traditional Italian food from this Sicilian-run establishment. On the positive side, the owner and there waitress who served were polite and friendly; in addition, the ambiance was pleasant. However, these positives could not make up for disappointing food. I ordered calimari to start and was presented with a large plate holding few squid-rings that were clearly out of a freezer bag. The batter and the cut was too uniform to be hand prepared. I hoped that my pizza main-course would be better, but, alas, no. It was the worst attempt at traditional Italian pizza I have eaten. The dough base was neither crisp nor light, but a doughy slab (just over half the size (about 8-9 inches) of what an italian light crust pizza ought to be) with some topping plonked on top. One would get a more authentic and better tasting pizza at Pizza Hut, products are definitely not authentic italian pizzas.
In summary, staff pleasant, atmosphere pleasant, but as an authentic italian food restaurant, its calamari and pizzas were awful and most likely were frozen commercial food. Not acceptable for an expensive restaurant considering what it serves. read more
