We were initially taken aback by the vast offering of Jellycat plush toys. The employee (owner?) who was in explained that they offer a wide selection of Jellycats, many of which are considered rare or very challenging to get ahold of. In addition to the plush toys, they also had a large variety of perfumes and perfume testers to sniff. I was really excited to see one of my favorite perfumes, Juliette Has a Gun, available in such variety. If my suitcase wasn't already jam packed heading out here, I would have totally purchased a bottle as a gift to myself. This was an adorable shop and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Unfortunately, my experience was extremely uncomfortable. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being watched and profiled. I was followed closely around the store and repeatedly told not to touch items, which made it impossible to browse or shop normally. At one point the owner was standing right next to me and speaking in a way that felt more like being scolded than helped. They won't let you look around the shop without following you around and asking you not to touch anything. Oh also they have a million perfume testers which they get mad if you smell them. Literally you cannot smell open samples of perfumes or they scream at you not to touch them. The overall attitude was very hostile and unwelcoming, which was surprising in a neighborhood where most small business owners are warm and appreciative of customers. I left feeling really disappointed because I had intended to give them my business. After mentioning the experience to a few other locals, I learned that others had similar interactions there. I hope the owners reconsider how they treat customers because the environment felt unnecessarily negative and uncomfortable. Ps. Same lady in all the other review pictures ! Plant Haus Market is a community-focused boutique full of distinctive houseplants, handmade items from local artisans, a charm bar, unique gifts, and they have workshops & events too! They love leashed and friendly dog visitors, just keep in mind that some items are delicate, so a little extra awareness with your pup goes a long way. Thanks to the Yelp event, we brought home a complimentary plant and chose a vibrant echeveria rainbow succulent imported from Korea, a tiny rosette bursting with color. We also couldn't resist a tradescantia nanouk and two greeting cards crafted by a local artist using pressed NJ flowers. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Rachel, who gave us a tour and shared fascinating insight into the plants and the shop's story. There is a small parking lot in front plus free street parking nearby. Formerly located in New Hope, PA, Plant Haus is a wonderfully cool addition to Lambertville's creative community.

I'll be honest: her website first lured and seduced my planty desires for unusual and flourishing houseplants when she was over in New Hope in the space that now houses the rather gauche "adult store". Grow up, "Adult": New Hope is edgy and artsy but not xxx creepy and crass. But I visited Plant Haus there twice when they were there and always they were unfortunately closed. This weekend: worse. Replaced by the affronting salacious (not sagacious), lascivious, tawdry, bawdy sex shoppe. I'm mostly Danish. We yawn at porn. But this place sticks out like a sore something. So I google mapped PH and walked over to the new space in the far more grounded artsy Lambertville. Did i find the flurry of fauna and dazzling specimens I'd drooled over on line? Sadly no. All rather dreary and drab sad plants on average. But stock changes - proprietors don't. I found better: Rachel Gillett who is the owner of Plant Haus Market. This shoppe is her dream - AI describes it as "the boutique plant shop that is a woman-owned, independent small business specializing in rare houseplants, accessories, and workshops." I found her brimming with the best quality of Lville-NH local shop owners I've known over the years - resilient, engaging, great listeners, believers in their shops, creative and proprietors who do not only believe in their own passions but believe in your same passions. Again - you get what you pay for. 3. No pressure staff- and the owner is a very nice person if you take the time to speak to him. His niece and the rest of the family that work there are very nice. Example here is a CUSTOM necklace of ruby, sapphire, peridot and pink tourmaline with a natural citrine center stone. This necklace was over $800 but was custom made and the center stone is a 3-4 carat Citrine. They asked what we were looking for and made a masterpiece that will be passed down for generations to come.

You guileless shop clerk with no interest to upsell me or zeal to get me to buy something casually pointed me to an area of rings and wished me cheery good luck! Bingo! I bought a bushel of reasonably priced rings and couldn't be more relieved at completing my silly pointless quest. I've been frequenting both towns as a patron for decades and i'm surprised how I always associate kindly persistence to sell me items at the cost of my getting what I want versus just laid back helpfulness with no agenda.
