Ah yes, kitschy Bavarian gifts!…read more Typically I am quite opposed to gift shops, but this one has a special twist. Nary a drindl or stein, nor mention of any type of beers. It's offbeat. It's colorful. It's not the standard touristy crappola...and your people at home might appreciate that. Surely everything resembles the stereotypical souveniers....but cooler. Mousepads, glockenspiels, racks of fake antlers, sausage sets (fake, obviously), magnets, funny tees (especially for kids), aprons, and the list goes on. Looking for something to truly surprise your significant family, friends, or other...without hauling a stein or shipping some beer? This is your place. Interesting books and paper, cards, stationary and postcards. Including a few guide books on interesting places to check out in the city... A tourist stop surely, but a cute one that stands apart from the rest. I'll be back before I make the voyage home!

Fresh flowers, meats, cheeses, baked goods and fresh baked breads, and of course beer and wine bars. There's something here for everyone and it's always fun checking out all the different booths. I walked over every morning for fresh Cappuccino at Leo's Kaffee and would pick up a pastry at one of the bakeries. In the afternoon, I would stop by the pickle guy and buy a few of the best pickles I've ever eaten. So many choices from sweet to sour, spicy and my favorite a super sour with a spicy horseradish. The long line moves quickly and if you like pickles, you must stop here.

Unfortunately, I visited during the holidays, so some stalls weren't open. One shop in particular really caught my attention--it specialized in mustard (Senf) and offered so many varieties I had never seen or even heard of before. I was excited to try everything. Prices ranged from €2 to €7 per bottle, and while I was tempted to buy several, my luggage limitations held me back. In the end, I chose two: black truffle mustard and matcha mustard. Can't wait to try them once I'm back home.

The service was great and she told us of all the options. The stein I wanted was 88 Euros, which seemed reasonable and they wrapped it all up for us. Tons of steins and cuckoo clocks were available. Great place if you want to get a German collectable.

I already bought there something for myself. But most of the times I just buy gifts for friends. And they really like it. Who would not like the stuff they have? OK, the person has to like some colorful things. :D The store has a wide range of products, which goes from decorative, home, kitchen, personal care, accessories, to office items. The products are most of the time very colorful, amusing, and very functional as well as fun. They provide gift packing at no extra cost. I am not so sure if they also do it on Saturdays, given that the store do gets a bit crowded. It is almost guaranteed you will find a gift that the matches the person that will receive it. :D

The space and atmosphere are intimate and cute. The woman who helped me (possibly the owner?) seemed a bit flustered, and admittedly it added to my embarrassment in not being able to speak German as I felt like a bit of an inconvenience. I asked for a traditional German breakfast and was given the Weisswurst and pretzel. FYI - apparently you don't eat the sausage skin-on; you can, but it's considered very touristy. The wurst didn't seem to have a ton of flavor, but whatever, it was my first breakfast in Germany, and when in Rome. The pretzel on the other hand was amazing. So much more flavor and care obviously goes into them than the street pretzels in New York I'm used to. Another FYI - it's standard to tip 10%, and often you have to ask for this to be out in the card before they charge you. However, the woman said they can't do this here, and you must tip in cash, which I didn't have. The woman was not too pleased about this, so do be sure to have cash when you go in. All in all it seems like a very charming place - by the time I left it was filled with locals. I'd like to go back again sometime knowing the things I now do.

I have yet to eat here, however what I have seen with the few times that I have been here is good quality and nice selection. Great staff, good seating for groups, and nice out door seating when the weather is at its best.
