However..., after the work started he tried to hit us up for additional costs for work he knew (or ought to have known) was there (some attic drywall). The work took 4-5 days longer than estimated, they forgot to remove a 4'x8' piece of drywall, broke our fridge handle off, an employee stole 3 bottles of vodka from the garage and their container trucking company broke a section of our driveway curb (for rainwater water deflection). Upon hearing this, Roger became incredibly belligerent thinking we tricked them by hiding some attic drywall (which took his crew longer to remove), figuring we received $5K worth of "free" work? He didn't understand ProPacific Hazmat would never have gotten the job if he'd quoted $5K higher, so his reasoning didn't hold water (except if the practice is to start the job then try and up the cost citing "unknown" work). All in all, the job was mostly completed satisfactorily, but Roger's conduct (trying to add additional costs, denying to finish the job, refusing to admit their employee(s) stole or broke items in the home) really left a sour taste and I would not recommend their services going forward. Too bad because if he handled this a little differently, the outcome would be much different and I'd have recommended them. PS. Still waiting for the general manager to call us back, which ought to tell you how they handle customer complaints.

Before he left, he gave me an verbal summary of his results and then followed up within a couple of days with a professional report, complete with photos, charts and recommendations about how to remedy a whole range of issues (mold, humidity, carpeting, staining, etc.) The big surprise was that the mold in my house was within the normal range and did not recommend professional treatment. I can clean it myself with common household cleaners. As I read the one-or-two other reviews that say they had a horrible experience, I wonder if they are actually talking about the same company. Believe me, you will be very pleased if you call Environix.

What I got was a whole lot more. They diagnosed the source of the problem. It was not just incorrectly installed flashing as the roofing inspector from another company had said. The entire roof had failed due to poor ventilation in the soffits and inadequate insulation in the attic. This would now be the 3rd roof that I had installed in 33 years. The two previous roofers had not alerted me to the problem with the insulation and the last roofer also did not properly install flashing along the deck roof so water slowly leaked into the house causing internal damage. Smart Site went above and beyond to do an excellent job on the interior of the house. Andrew also coordinated well with the other trades that were required to complete the job. I strongly recommend Smart Site Construction. This was a small job. They do the big ones as well. You can't go wrong with Smart Site!
