My son broke a hinge piece on his soft top which was keeping it from closing. When we contacted the JEEP dealer, they said we should try TopStore. Lucky for us, we were already storing our hard top with them. I just wasn't aware they did repairs as well. I emailed them a video of the damage and they said I would most likely have to replace the whole top but to come down to the shop and they would see what they could do. They fit me in on a Saturday morning without hesitation. I personally dealt with Jim & Kamil. Kamil fortunately had a soft top in the shop they used for parts. Somehow, he fixed the hinge and made it work. Not only did he fix the top, he took the time to show me how to get the top on and off without too much trouble. He was patient with me instead of just telling me to go watch some videos. That kind of customer service is not easy to find these days. Despite my lack of knowledge, they treated me with respect and grace and I was most appreciative. The icing on the cake is that they only charged me for some labor and parts. They know I'll be back for a new soft top...eventually because they took to time to treat their customer well. I've been a Jeep Girl for about 10 years now. With the purchase of my very first Jeep I was given Top Store's number as a potential place to store the hard top or the soft top when the other was in place on the vehicle. Not only have they been wonderful in that respect (they'll even come meet you where you are with the vehicle to switch tops in the busy season), they're just great people. When I sold my first Jeep they took care of it. Later, after I sold my condo and wanted another Jeep they found me one. Repairs, paperwork hassles, advice, even just a nice word if I'm having a bad day, these guys all go above and beyond. They don't just do Jeeps, they do stuff for high end cars too, (read: classics, Ferraris, Porsches, etc...just take a glance through the warehouse sometime...drool...) including work on them and provide storage for them. In my years knowing them I've witnessed the way they are with their clients and I have to say that I've never seen anyone not being treated with respect and fairness. One more amazing thing, as a woman in the city on my own, having car maintenance can be an absolute nightmare as mechanics are often about as trustworthy as foxes in the chicken coop. These guys will let you know if you don't need work done just like they'll let you know if you do. And they'll help you with loaners, rides back to your office or home, and contacting your insurance agency if needed! I took my car to Top Store for detailing. Looked on Google for detail shops in my area and this facility came up. I called and talked to the son of the company and he informed me that they would do a great job on detailing my car, as well as remove bubbles from rear window. Didn't know until I got there that this facility is primarily for storing high end cars. I picked my car up after about 4 days, they gave me a great car as loner while they detailed and repair rear window. Car looked great however after a few days of driving I noticed my rack and pinion was broken. Cost me $900 to repair. This company broke a major part on my car that was very costly to repair. Please beware when taking your car to Top Storage. They are either thieves or very careless with your vehicles. read more

I won't take my Jeep anywhere else. Jim, Saban, and the rest of the guys are great. They know their stuff, and they're the only shop I'll trust with my '97 Wrangler. I've had it for 15 years, and they take as good of care of it as I do. I've been back half a dozen times for everything from a hard top to differential work, and they've always given me good quotes and done excellent work. My last time in I had to have my front differential replaced. It happened over a weekend when I needed to move and I was expecting to be without a vehicle. To my surprise, they loaned me a station wagon that was a huge help. I refer all my Jeep-owning friends there too, and they've all come back happy. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! The owner is unethical and rude and they do not engage in fair and honest dealings. In good faith I made a transaction with them where they would pick up two of my car tops to buy and offered me $1000... They then told me if I wanted to wait and only take 500 upfront, they could sell my hardtop cheap for more and would split the difference with me. I agreed to those terms and then had to call them repeatedly over the next 8 MONTHS to ever even receive a call back...to which I was then told by the rude owner, that the tops were of no value to him and he will not even pay me the remaining $500 I was initially offered. Top Store is a Godsend for the single Jeeper who'd rather pay a few hundred bucks a year for the convenience of having experts swap out and store your hard top for the seasons, rather than have to rustle up some help.... everyone I've dealt with from both the Chicago location and Berkley have been great. Get everything in writing with them and take pictures of your vehicle before leaving it with them. I stored my motorcycle on the premise that it would be started once a month and the side covers "mysteriously" disappeared. The guy doing the "maintaining" said that the covers were around. Now the owner claims they were never seen. Thuggish threatening phone call tactics used to collect late payments. read more

I'm angry at myself for not writing this review earlier....because people deserve to be informed about mistreatment from this establishment. I USED to store my winter tires at this place...did so for years. Never had any issues...then one time when i went in for my annual swap to get ready for the upcoming Chicago winter and they completely destroyed my wheels...then tried to tell me that it was like that when i brought the car in!!! Mind you the wheels are black so its incredibly easy to spot something like that, especially considering that I just came from getting the car washed and looked it over as I always do while the guys dry the car. They stripped the wheels to the point where it looked like someone took a screwdriver and dug out quarter inch depth 5 to 6 inch scratches in length on each wheel. I was livid...then the guy who runs the place tried to blame the place where i bought my car claiming that they did it!!! Unbelievable, he tried making up a couple of excuses before admitting that they started using a new place down the street to swap tires out because the old place shut down and they don't have the machine needed. I have never been more insulted in my life. After all that nothing was done to compensate me, not even an apology. It's beyond me how people like this succeed in life and get ahead. The people who work there are very nice aside form the guy who owns the place. The way he handled my situation should of had him shut down. But that's the world we live in. BEWARE. read more
