The location is very easy to get to from the Norfolk area. They have parking available but be very careful where you park. They do tow and they have signs displayed everywhere. You can also ride the ferry at this location on high street which is about a block away. There is a small fee for riding on the ferry. They accept cash only. The yacht we were on was so lovely. Had everything you could possibly need to stay overnight. Or longer. You get a chance to see all the boats docked nearby and the water was very calm. Would definitely enjoy returning if invited. I hope to be invited again real soon.

We had planned to haul out in a few months for blister repair and bottom paint, after observing we decided we found our place. Excellent work, reasonably priced, and impeccable communication. Great pool and bath house, laundry, floating docks, dog park across the street, with instacart and walmart delivery options. Great short ride to Yorktown via dinghy to enjoy the free hop on and off trolly tour. Can't say enough great things about this place we will defiently return.

There are a couple of beautiful flower gardens, not to mention the marina is nestled in a placid area surrounded by large trees. The entire marina is pristinely manicured. They have a full working service yard and haul out. The ship store is stocked with a wide variety of boater's needs. We are on the great loop and needed a repair to our bow thruster, the marina was happy to work us in even though they were booked through July! So much to do close by, Uber does pick up from here and food can be delivered. If you get the chance this is a great place to stay.

We met the regional manager, Rick, who encouraged us to move our boat there, but we needed to wait until our current lease expired. A few weeks ago, we met with the new dockmaster, Kathryn, who manages both Tidewater and Ocean Yacht Marina. The first thing out of her mouth was, "We do not accept liveaboards." We assured her we weren't looking to live aboard. She then said we could only stay on our boat up to 12 days per month and emphasized that staying even 13 days would be a breach. When she sent me the paperwork, it stated we could only be on the boat 10 days per month. The following Monday, after sending in all the paperwork and updating my insurance, I wrote to Rick to say we'd like to finalize the contracts so we could move the boat during a weather window on Saturday. Since Kathryn was out, Rick had another person contact me. She was also strongly opposed to liveaboards and said we could only be on the boat 8 days per month--down from 12, then 10, to now 8. She said she'd email us the contract by close of business, but two days later, we still hadn't received anything. I then texted Rick and said it was apparent they didn't want us in the marina. I said we can part as friends and when I come down to stay as a transient, I will go to Waterside and gave a smiley face. He responded with a two-word response. "Copy that." Decently outfitted ship's store with all the essentials and ordering/quick turnaround for non stocked items. Fuel, gas and diesel on site. Walk to on base gym, convenience store, barber shop, and food outlets. Walk a little farther..but still walkable, to full service grocery, marine supply, and multiple food/retail outlets and bus stops just outside the gate. Nate Harris, the manager, and his crew take care of business, get to know you, and are always willing to help. You can't go wrong if you are eligible to use this facility.

I called the marina, explained the situation and bought him a new shirt and had it shipped. When the shirt arrived, they included several stickers as well as a note thanking me! What nice people! Herewith my ActiveCaptain review of Cobb's Marina as of May 2018. UPDATE May 2018 This is really getting boring. I have nothing to complain about. I stopped here for fuel and a nap while waiting for the second owner to arrive for the last leg of a delivery. Dockmaster David Benns was hospitable as always. I consulted with David about a mildly creative approach to springing and warping a somewhat unwieldy 50' pilothouse ketch from the lift well bulkhead to the fuel dock to avoid backing down the fairway - it is clear David is as comfortable and competent on boats as in a marina. Many thanks--again--to all the staff at Cobb's Marina for their support and customer service. UPDATE August 2017 Another delivery and another stop at Cobbs, this time for a couple of days for some minor mechanical work and to wait out some weather. Frank in the parts department tracked down some obscure parts for us really fast. The entire team at Cobb's is first rate. UPDATE July 2017 Once again Cobb's Marina demonstrated that customer service is their priority during a brief visit for inbound C&I and fuel while on delivery. Many thinnks to David Benns for getting us turned around and on our way despite a later than hoped for arrival. Extract from previous review: We visited Cobb's in March of 2017. At the end of a difficult delivery that included a failed main halyard, a seized engine, and a tow from the USCG our arrival at Cobb's was welcome. Everyone on staff was helplful and kind. Dockmaster David Benns took care of us. Although we could not reach the fuel dock given our circumstances David made sure we could get diesel on the boat. The docks are nothing short of lovely with sturdy cleats and good bumper strips. Showers and baths are heated and there is plenty of hot water. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery. CBP clearance was a piece of cake. I will be back.

My husband was underway for a month cause he's in the navy and couldn't get to it. The guy I spoke to said he understood and would explain it to the manager. Judy got VERY upset over a simple mistake and asked if she could call him. I said no cause he's on a naval ship UNDERWAY. Family is all he can contact. Then had the audacity to say to me his wife who barely gets to see him "he's allowed to call you but not me?!" I've never been so baffled in my life. We will be leaving the marina very soon.
