I would recommend reserving your tickets online and picking them up at least 30 minutes before the film begins. The food counter is a bit pricey for the limited selection, but its a normal cost within the Vienna area. The kino itself is clean and has various size auditoriums for different films. Today was a cool, rainy day in Vienna - a perfect day to go to the movies - and since I had no plans for the evening I stopped by the local Film Casino. The movie they were showing (this is not a multiplex) was awesome and really funny (A French film by a Portuguese director with German sub-titles), the seats are super comfortable, the concession stand is well-stocked, and the admission price is really fair. The interior design of the theatre is classic retro (except it's the real deal). This cinema both outside and inside looks like it stepped out of the fifties or at least what I imagine a movie theatre in the 1950s would have looked like. And the variety of films here is really diverse as are the film festivals they hold. This week is their "Slasher" film festival (in time for Halloween) .... and sometime they might have a French New Wave, or an American Gangster, or a Gay festival.... whatever. If you only feel comfortable seeing films in English, still check out the schedule because if the film is originally in the English language, they will show it in English with German sub-titles. Anyway, just go and enjoy a cool night out at the movies in Margareten!

The little boxes on the sides of the cinema are kind of adorable and I wish I'd gotten one of those seats instead. Slight visibility issue if you're in the back due to almost no slope, but they do space the seats in such a way there won't be a person directly in front of you. The screen is also positioned high enough it shouldn't be an issue. Wonderful place to stop by and see a film if you're visiting.

The image quality is decent, 3D sucks and reduces the image quality, but there isn't much choice as pretty much all the movies are shown in 3D now. The sound is pretty good, not amazing but definitely acceptable, even for audiophiles. Don't get there too early, as the cinema room will only open like 5 minutes before showtime.

I've been there twice now - once in the winter and once in the summer - and both times it seemed to have 40 degrees in there! It was so uncomfortable! But worst of all, the lobby smells like a dive bar. It stinks of cigarettes and alcohol. Not very welcoming! Overall, I think it is overrated. But if you wanna go, don't forget to wear your hipster glasses and bring your cloth bag.

We got there super early because it said online to not pick up the tickets later no than 45 min before the start time. About ten min before the start time we tried to open the door to the theater and we hear the woman in the concession stand yelling," No!" So we found out the hard way that they run movies back to back and you need to wait until the previous movie is let out and they open the doors. In terms of concessions, the popcorn was not great. Get candy if you need something to munch on. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if you are itching to catch a movie it's in a good location and will do the trick. Inside of the theater itself was clean and the seats themselves were clean and comfortable. Note that by US standards the seats are very narrow. If you have bigger hips/are overweight the seats may be snug or you may not be able to fit in them at all.

Watched the latest Tarantino in No4, fell into propper movie chairs (probably velvety bordeaux, was dark, but thats my guess) and enjoyed the 22.15 screening to the fullest. Also, they do get to the main part almost straight away, meaning: not too many pre-views or adverts shown! Popcorn ( xxl) and the mega master soft drink for around 8€, okay-ish priced, they also do Ladies and Men night which I have to investigate further more soon.

For those who are used to big, modern cinemas in the UK and US you may get a shock coming here...It appears to have never had a make over since it was opened. But looks aren't everything. Big, old, comfy chairs are everything. And Artis delivers. Ohhhh yeah! The screens are smaller than what I am used to in the UK but we are talking about a cinema built into a city centre building, space is obviously an issue. The fact that they managed to fit 6 screens in here is impressive! Snacks and drinks are slightly over priced but in what cinema aren't they?! They do deals on drinks and popcorn/sweets too which are good for sharing. There is a bar for alcohol as well should you feel the need! Staff speak English and German and are always friendly and helpful in my experience!
