ATTENTION Buffalo family and friends. I usually don't do this but I felt it necessary because of…read morethe level of disrespect. Do not go to Anointed Hands African Braiding on Bailey next to the Rose Beauty Supply and deal with Marcy. She is very rude and condescending. Got my hair braided in a style I never tried before. When we started I asked her to leave my baby hair out (my hair is very soft and I didn't want to damage my edges). We talked a little during the service, she was telling me about the program she was watching on TV. When she was done she wanted to clip my fly always and I told her that I was ok I usually get mousse on it when it's done and she got snippy explaining how she went to cosmetology school and how ppl who only use mousse and not cut don't know what they are doing. I politely said again "thank you but that's ok". Mind you, long ago I've gotten fly always cut from braids and it damaged my length and ends of my hair. So I know what I'm talking about but I didn't tell her this, so anyway....at the end of the service a part of my braid was loose and I asked her if she could redo it and she started to say I was a difficult customer and how she won't braid my hair again and began mocking me to her partner in the shop. All because I asked for my fine baby hair out and because I asked her fix a braid that clearly was loose. I was really thrown back by how she reacted. Her attitude was sharp and very nasty. She did fix my braid though she was persistent not to and her pict posted on the wall said you can discuss any issues before you leave. I will NEVER go back to that salon again and I encourage you to look elsewhere. When you are paying for a service, you should be respected and you should feel that the services rendered was worth the money. I can't believe the level of disrespect. I was planning to tip the woman and compliment her on the cleanliness of her shop but I did not because her bad attitude outweighed all of that for me. Although I like my hair FIRST IMPRESSION IS EVERYTHING and I will not give my hard earned money to a place that doesn't value the customer that's helping them make a living.

Well that initial visit sold me. The lady who cut my hair was attentive, professional and cared about giving me the exact style of cut I wanted. I have been a loyal patron for the past 6 years. She's been trained the old world way by an Italian barber has 25+ years experience and she has a good eye for detail. It's more expensive than places like first choice, but I belief you get what you pay for. The shop itself is not pretentious but has a classic, clean, laid back kind of feel. You just can't beat old fashioned, personalized service.

It's so nice when you've had the same stylist for a while and you don't have to explain what you want, she just does it, and it always looks great. I also got my hair done here for my wedding. Amanda did a great job on my hair, and my maid of honor also goes here for her haircuts so her hair dresser, I believer her name was Michelle, did a great job on hers as well. My mom also sees Danielle so I really can recommend many of the stylists. The salon itself is very nice. It has a modern look and there is always music playing. The place is always clean, and they are prompt in sweeping up the hair from around each place. There is plenty of parking, and it is easy to get to, not far from Niagara Falls Boulevard. The prices are decent too. Not cheap like the chain haircutters, but I have learned you def get what you pay for. But not too expensive either. Haircuts run about $30 each.

Simple haircut but he said he couldn't do the hot towel shave because he didn't have any towels prepared. He didn't talk during the whole haircut, which was fine, but he almost seemed slightly annoyed that I was interrupting his time by being there. After he finished I asked him how much and he said $30. I showed him my credit card (I didn't have cash) and he said he would have to charge me the credit card service fee. I said that is fine and he charged me $39. $9 for a CC service fee? I said thanks and goodbye and he didn't respond, just turned around and didn't say anything. No receipt and no goodbye or anything. I felt like I was being an inconvenience to his time and then being overcharged $9 for a service fee. The haircut and experience was absolutely NOT worth $39, nor the feeling that I was a burden to him. I will definitely not be going back. It really seems like the other barbers were smiling, interactive, and happy to be there. Maybe I just got the guy who was having a bad day. Either way, I won't be back.
