It is abit of a walk from the station (-1 star) but at least you''ll be all warmed up by the time you get there They have a gym, 2 Swimming Pools, 3 Exercise Studios, indoor cycling, function hall, sauna, 3 Squash Courts, beauty therapy, creche, a playzone, free car parking and a cafe where you can unwind after a hard workout. My brother is a street/hip hop choreographer and he always hires one of the studios to teach and he is never disappointed. I attended one of his classes and I was very impressed with the space that the studio offers. It is very modernised, spacious, you have a personal wardrobe, huge mirrored walls, a stereo and there is AIR CON (yay for the cool recycled air) and staff are friendly! They always have special offers, so be sure to call and find out. So any dancers exercise teachers out there, this is the place to be!

It was just down the road from me so I walked, but they have a decent sized parking lot, and a nursery for you parents. I didn't use their regular gym, although it looked nice, with a good variety of machines. I was there for yoga. I am a total beginner at yoga, and I took my first class here. It was easy to fit in, the instructer was clear about what to do which was good because everyone except me seemed to be a repeat student! They provided us with mats, all you need is yourself and you'll probably want a water bottle. They have a really varied class schedule, with different levels and times throughout the week. You can sign up for a lot of classes and get a discount, or come on a first come first serve basis- which I never had a problem doing, and pay about 7 pounds per class.

Lots of classes to choose from, some good and some not so good teachers…read more Changing rooms are average with them taking 5 months to replace a light bulb in the toilets. The exercise studio is a disgrace. Flooding damaged the ceiling and the floor, classes were cancelled so they could repair the floor but they didn't and when they cancelled them for a second time they only replaced parts of the floor and left large damaged areas unrepaired. Cheap and cheerful but don't expect anyone to return your calls or answer emails and staff are generally kept in the dark so unable to help much. The booking app is abysmal, regularly doesn't work, was supposedly updated and now doesn't work again. You can't book by phone as they don't answer. Booking via the website is ok if you know what class you want to book, if it then it's a nightmare.

It did get a bit annoying in January when the post Christmas 'new year new you' crowd were in, but thankfully it's returned to normal now. I haven't used the swimming pool or attended any classes here (I've tried to book on to some classes but they always seem to be full!), but I've heard good things.

A great respite from the London heat. I visited on a weekend and easily found parking on the street…read moreright by the lido. There was no queue and it was relatively painless to get through to the pool. I wasn't able to use a locker however as I only had a £2 coin and reception had no change to provide me with pound coins for the lockers. Luckily I hadn't brought much of value with me so I hopped in and kept an eye on my belongings. It was quite busy with it being a blazing hot day, people had obviously been there sunbathing on the concrete all day! The lanes didn't feel too busy though when I was in the pool swimming. The pool is not heated so it can be a bit chilly when you first get in until you've got used to it. It was a delightful swim, to be swimming outside in England felt very novelty! It was generally clean, but a few things did float by on my swim. The changing facilities aren't the best, with only one small communal female changing area, with just one cubicle for privacy. It would be nice if they had some cubicles by the side of the pool like the Charlton lido, but maybe they didn't feel they had the room. There is a cafe on site, which by the look of it you had to access from outside, but there is a window that serves snacks and drinks. The only seating option when you are pool side is the bare flat concrete, so make sure you have a couple of towels with you so that you can lie out, I also took some flip flops for when I was walking about as opposed to going barefoot. I would definitely recommend this lido and I'm sure I will visit again, although I have now discovered Charlton lido, which is a lot closer to my home. The Art Deco style at Brockwell is much more aesthetically pleasing though!

Surprisingly we got a space in the car park (we know this was pure luck!). The parking is (I think) 2 hours free but it's not very clear whether you have to make a note of that when paying, so we just paid everything... hope they are enjoying getting all that free money Mr Parking God. When we got there the queue was way out the door at about 30 people deep we didn't have to wait too long to get in though. Once in we headed for the lockers which are few(!) And are located outside. There's about 40 lockers for the 100 people there. We walked into the changing room...and quickly walked back out it's very open and smelly. Standard. The pool itself is wonderful and fresh and you don't feel like you're swimming on top of people which is nice (especially as half the pool was closed when we visited). There's a cafe/bar (which is slow serving but worth the wait). The flooring isn't great, you're laying on concrete, bring a squishy towel. Apart from that it's a decent day out for some sun and a swim. Be warned sitting near the deep in. The kids jumping in and dive bombing constantly becomes tiresome. The poor lifeguards, is all I felt for the next few days! They deserve a medal.

I mostly used the swimming pool and hire the badminton courts a few times. To hire the courts, it's quite cheap, it might of changed now but it was around a tenner between two people for 2 hours. Not bad... It's usually quite quiet on a Sunday afternoon. The swimming pool is a really good size. However, the pool gets really busy with Mums and babies in the afternoon so I'd suggest going in the morning or the evening. I liked this place. It's got a nice family feel but isn't always hugely busy which is a nice change as most London gyms can be pretty heaving more of the time. A nice, cheap alternative to the bigger, corporate gyms...

Very irresponsible management team. The swimming pool water is murky and because it's very popular with young children, you'd find pieces left behind to swim through. Half shower's locks broken, holes in partitioning walls. I tolerated it for a while just because I live nearby, now moved to a different leisure centre, different company, much happier, never stepped in Latchmere centre (or any DC centre) ever again.

This is a wonderfully old-school and sophisicated London members club - perfect for a game of lawn…read moretennis or just hanging out drinking tea and reading a book in one of the beautiful conservatories or on the terrace (I did the latter!) You can only get in here with a member - and most people are either married into or born into membership at Hurlingham because the wait is around 15 years - but luckily members can bring a bunch of people at a time. The grounds are gorgeous and with a perfect weather weekend you can spend hours wandering around and taking in the beautiful scenery. If you decide to opt for a membership, by the time your name is at the top of the list 15 or so years down the track, you may just be about nearing the right age to fit in with the clientele here. Yes, I'm talking OAPs. This club is a million miles away from the media crowd you find in most well known members club, this really is a place for the old-school English gentleman in his suit - which gives it a special vibe. Oh and don't forget your crisp whites on the tennis courts, no other gear allowed here!

You feel like you've stepped into some alternate universe where everyone is friendly and nice. There's a great playground for children, an outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi i think, tennis courts, croquet lawns etc. There are the usual rules regarding wearing only white. The restaurant is also quite yummy though I wouldn't say it's mind-blowing. The BBQ in the summer is delicious though! Obviously the down-sides are that it's ridiculously expensive to become a member and the waiting list is close to almost a century.
