Arrived to find a tree down and another very large old tree about to fall. I called them in the late afternoon and they arrived early the next morning. They did a great job looking over all the trees surrounding our home and the trees that were unsafe were quoted. The quote was reasonable. During the next few weeks another tree on the edge of our lot became a hazard - it was a giant black oak and was threatening the neighbors house. I got three estimates on a tree removal. I opted to go with Appalachian. Of the other 2 estimates…read moreone never showed as promised, and the other showed right away but had too many bad things to say about ALL the competition I opted not to use him. Appalachian showed up for the job on time, had 4 guys with a 5th that followed, and did the whole job in just over an hour. The entire tree including the trunk was ground to mulch. They appeared to work safely and I was pleased. Tree came down and all was well! Yes I would use them again if I had another tree that needed to be removed. The only reason I didnt put 5 star as they left a quite large pile of mulch. I heard that they normally take that with them. They didnt ask if I wanted it and it could have been shoveled into the truck. In this case it was not an issue though as 2 neighbors in the park took some for their gardens, and I bagged several bags just incase the hole sinks over time as it settles and the wood chips decay. If however you DONT want a big pile of mulch, make sure you discuss that part first.
