I asked for a trim and then got it quite a lot shorter with some layers, she talked me through the whole thing and before cutting each layer she held it up and showed me exactly how short it would be, this was so perfect for me because she could see how nervous I was to be going shorter.. She did a fantastic job, I am thrilled with the style and length. Definitely found my new hairdresser! Plus affordable! The cut was only $20! (and there is a great op shop a few shops away!)

I'm pretty sure it dates back to when I was a child, a hair dresser decided my also curly haired sister and I needed side burns. Yes side burns. On little girls. Screw you 80's. Anyway, long term scarring aside, I find it difficult to trust again so I was pretty cautious when I first visited Crow Hair on the recommendation of a friend. To start with the space and the staff are gorgeous. Hilarious owner (who is great at hair if you can get in to his busy schedule) and delightful girls who all seem to be stylish and talented and good at making frumps like me feel good. They are also very complimentary of my curl and never mention the tide mark of old colour invariably found in my locks, which is super polite of them. I walked out with straight hair (free, done as a challenge by the owner and probably not my best look - I looked like the love child of a real estate agent and a news anchor) but when I wet my hair I was relieved to see a really sensitive cut that kept my length but lifted weight off so my curl had a chance to, well, curl. Lots of great advice (I had no idea permanent colours contributed to breakage) and the prices are VERY reasonable compared to city salons. I'll go back within a much more sensible time frame I promise.

I went in on Wednesday and they were able to fit me in for an hour later for a cut. All the seats seem to always be full though so I think I was just lucky. The price was fantastic and way less than I was expecting. My only problem is that my haircut is so good that now I am TOO cute and it's affecting my life because I have too much self confidence now so I think maybe next time I'm going to ask for something uglier. From my first phone call to make a booking I have felt like we belong here. I think just about everyone of the friendly caring staff here has either washed, cut, styled or blow-dried mine, my husband or my kids hair and every time we walk out we feel like royalty! The always remember what we do and don't like, nothing is ever a problem, and they genuinely care about us. There is never a problem with parking, no other shops to distract me (or the kids!), the coffee is great and the wifi is free!!! I would recommend Lunatic Fringe to anyone after a wonderful group of hairdressers - you will not be disappointed.
