We stayed here overnight on a trip to Las Vegas. Our check-in was later, around 9. You get to roll dice for a free room if you get three of a kind. The attendant allowed both of us to roll. We missed but it was fun. The rooms are not modern but the bed was very comfortable. And the floor was quiet. They offer military and senior discounts. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant in the morning. Opens at 6 am. The breakfast offerings are ample for any appetite. We had pancakes, three plate sized pancakes, light and fluffy. Also the eggs and bacon with hash browns, English muffins. Very good coffee. Our server continually checked in on us. We had to stop to tell the chef how good his food is. Don't know how he cooks his bacon but it was amazing. Like ham. Very good start to our day. They have a full lunch and dinner menu with breakfast all day. The hotel casino is decorated old miner style. There is lots of parking and RV spots in the rear. The hotel was $20 cheaper than elsewhere in town. Great stop.

Someone left their personal soap in the shower.

This is the first and last time we'll stay here. I felt bad for the employees, as most of them there were doing several jobs during the day. I know they have a shortage of employees but there is no excuse for dirty rooms, tables in the restaurant were sticky and had a greasy film on top. This place is old and it shows. The entire hotel needs a very deep cleaning. The carpets are filthy. Pigeon feathers and poop blowing in the back entrance. Then it's tracked inside rooms and restaurant. Our group (3 rooms) all had dirty carpets, no stoppers in the sinks and leaking faucets. Two of us had the floss / teeth picks on the floor. Someone left their personal bar of soap in the shower. The window sills are very dirty and little mold. Our bed king was very old and hard as a rock. the springs were so noisy that I couldn't roll over or get out of bed without waking my husband. If the health department inspected this place it would probably be shut down.

2.5/5 stars rounded up to 3 We stopped here for dinner. We were starving after being on the road for 10 hours and tired, too. We had scattered internet so I only caught glimpses of reviews before getting here. We chatted with Diana at the registration desk. We asked to see a room before booking and she was kind enough to let us see one. The elevator takes you to the rooms since all are on the second floor. There are stairs between sets of rooms so it is a bit of exercise. The hotel was built in 1980 and renovated in 2003. It is past time for another renovation. The carpet and bathtub has stains and the walls have some splotches but the price is half that of other places in town. The bed was clean and bedspread was bright and cheery...and I check edges- no creatures roamed. The only thing I didn't check until late that night is the shower wouldn't turn on-or I wasn't strong enough to turn it on. This needs to be fixed, too. The coffee shop was nice and bustling. They had a ground round patty for entree served with soup or salad, mashed or baked potatoes and a vegetable. Dinner was plain but good. The soup (once reheated)and salad were both really delicious. The ground round patty was just plain-no onions or mushrooms but very good and the mashed potatoes and gravy were tasty, too. Breakfast was ok. Diced ham and eggs were really good. The country gravy was not great. But again service was nice. The Tonopah Station is an ok place for a night. It's not the best place I've stayed but it was quiet and safe. The casino smells horribly like smoke. They could use a better air handling system. Service by Diana and the staff in the coffee shop was wonderful. They earn a star by themselves.

Driving to Vegas for a birthday trip, we decided to stop and stay the night I'm Tonopah. Tonopah Station is an older hotel, but despite that, the accommodations are great. The beds are very comfortable. The carpet is old, and it does smell musty and smokey, but they do have a casino on the first floor, while the rooms are on the second floor. There are stairs that lead to the rooms, so it may be a bit difficult if you need special accommodations. I almost won a free room as you can roll the dice at check-in to try to win a free night. I would definitely stay here again as it has some cool history and decorations.

Not so wonderful with really inadequate staffing. If you sit at a machine and hope for a drink... good luck! We played for over 15 minutes before we were able to get ahold of a guy who obliged us and found us a cold beer.. Probably a place the locals hang at. We tried getting lunch. Fiasco. The one waitress was off to the side doing something.. no customers were seated or in sight... and the cook was actually front of house and said someone would be with us in a minute, but she never reappeared. We left.

This place and staff were awesome. It feels so nice not being stared at by staff and them actually talk to me and not just my husband.

It's an old and historical location. Good updates that are comfortable. Didn't eat at the restaurant. Would stay again when passing through.

We liked the place. Restaurant and small casino and a decent price. We'll be staying there again.

Lots of locals and plenty of tourists having a great time. Pool table near the DJ, good selection of whiskeys and freshly brewed beers on tap. Let me start off by saying the front desk on this visit , I dealt with two of them. Mallory and then Todd. Both of them had excellent customer service and were super nice. Now let's get to it, is this place haunted. Yeah I would say so. The weekend that I went up there with my wife around 1 o'clock in the morning, the curtain rod just flew off the wall. Nobody was near it. Nobody touched it. Our suitcases were not near it at all. It just decided to literally jump up off the wall. my wife wasn't very happy. She's not into that kind of thing but I loved it. I loved it so much. I came back up the next weekend with my brother and my daughter who both like to do ghost hunting ,on that weekend. Idon't remember the two ladies names that I talked to at the front desk, but however, again they were both excellent . We went on the ghost tour, which was OK. Later in the middle of the night we walked around with some of their equipment and we caught a lot of strange video and audio.

Jim Butler Days - A little bit of Americana

Jim Butler Days

Every year during the last week of May, about a 3-hour drive from Las Vegas, the town of Tonopah,…read moreNevada hosts a homegrown festival called "Jim Butler Days." (It is also called "Founder's Day.") The story goes that in 1900 Jim Butler was camping around Tonopah Springs when his burro wandered off, causing him to follow, where he found gold! (That's right, GOLD in them 'thar hills!) Mines were built, and Tonopah produced in excess of five million tons of ore, as well as, a bustling economy and happening town. Many Serbian immigrants came and exerted influence on the community and culture. Tonopah had its heyday of being a gold rush town in the early 1900s. But then the gold dried up, and it became all but a ghost town. Today Tonopah is back again on the rise, reviving as one for silver mining. You see Teslas at charging stations on the main drag. So that tells you where things are going...And interesting, historical features like this annual festival continue! Come and join the parade of local politicos handing out candy, free live music shows, raffles, rodeos, and general Western charm and spirit. It's lovely, small town fare, with wild children and show horses, where you will feel instantly at home. There are nice places to stay, including a couple of newly renovated, historic hotels right on the parade route. Casinos are not prominent here like in "Sin City." And if you do something wrong up here, you may end up in front of a stern judge with deer and elk heads adorning the courtroom walls, and likely a pistol in his pocket. No kidding. (Not that I have any particular reason for knowing this or anything!) Being at a higher altitude than you are in Southern Nevada, you will find the temperatures very moderate in May when Las Vegas temps are already reaching the 100s. Bring a sweater, though; it can get a bit cool at night. You can check this festival out online for next summer. A good way to see more of the great State of Nevada. Don't neglect to bring your Stetson hat and cowboy boots!

This was a great decision. We got one of the suites which was one of the most unique hotel rooms I've ever stayed in complete with 19th century French books and turn of the 20th century charm. Our suite was unique with a smallish living room connecting to an old timey bedroom and bathroom. Everything was clean and very comfortable. I really liked the Belvada themed shampoo and soap. I don't usually sleep well in hotels but the hotel bed here was great. We also had a nice view down onto the street and the Mizpah sister property to the Belvada. There was a coffee machine, refrigerator and microwave. We really enjoyed our evening in this room and it was perfect for what we were looking for. The location was excellent with a couple different places to get food including an A&W and a casino restaurant just across the street. There's also several shops and amenities within a block or two. Really helpful for travellers. There's also a really neat casino with all sorts of things like written checks from different celebrities and a neat stuffed bear over there. Tonopah is one of the more unique places I've ever been with the vibrant history of the late 19th and early 20th century still echoing loudly in that town. The locals were friendly. Probably one of the best places to stop in the vast, expansive and gorgeous Nevada desert.
