Normally seven or eight screaming kids in tow with enough jewellery to bring Ratners back into business. Ask is tucked away on Priestgate so really quiet and pleasant. What I was most impressed with was the Manager's attentiveness. He was actively engaging customers whilst serving, something a lot of restaurants could learn from. My pricing score reflects the voucher I used, I'm not sure at full price whether it would be my new regular pizzeria though.

When we decided to visit Grantham for our honeymoon, the first thing we did was book a reservation at this restaurant so we could relive that charming evening. The staff was incredibly accommodating and welcoming, and made our return to this special moment a dream. I promised that night I would be leaving a sparkling review of their restaurant, but with the distraction of the rest of our trip and then just time in general, I never made it back to leave the review. Now that we finally printed our pictures - a year and half later (!!!) - I was reminded of this special place, and still find so much joy in recalling the two precious evenings I spent here. All in the bill was £48.00 which for that price is excellent value. I just wish the service was slightly better. We went on Sunday afternoon it wasn't at all busy. Staff are friendly but they have to get their act together. Secondly, because service is speedy and efficient and more German than Italian (think BMW not Alfa Romeo). Thirdly, the owner has an immaculately groomed moustache and is such a likeable fellow he will engage anyone in conversation. Fourth, it's unpretentious and after the first visit you're treated like a regular. A very affable service with a personal touch. This place really does remind me of Italy. When you're done eating and drinking here you can head out to the deli and purchase yourself some of the ingredients to take back home with you. There's another more upmarket version of Fratelli's (same franchise) in nearby Stamford but I prefer this one because it's as laid back as eating at your Mama's. Fantastico.
