Third stop and third cocktail of the night. The darkest place so far. One bartender managing everything. Pretty empty and 4 seats available at the bar - with a Reserved sign. I hate that. The freedom to spontaneously drop in at your favorite establishment is one of life's simple pleasures for many, an energy that can be stifled with reservations We were told we could have any seat in the mostly empty bar. We chose a large table. Oh said barman I'll have to move you if a big group comes in. Oh said we, then we will move sensibly to a table for two. The cocktails were good. We had an Ardent Autumn and a False Dawn. I think about $18 each. We left 45 minutes later, we watched other people turned away from the bar seats but no -one came in and neither did any large groups......but they might have! Awkward service indeed as others have pointed out. Our least favorite place on the expensive Sante Fe cocktail trail.

Great cocktails and an amazing bartender! It's a beautiful setting with jazz music - great for our night cap!

Located downtown Santa Fe near the plaza. Except for the small sign I would it have known it was there. It you are looking for an awesome atmosphere this is place is it. I think the inside is amazing. Seems this is the place to stop after 9. Kind of on the expensive side, but that is expected in Santa Fe. Waiter was nice enough to get a spit as soon as it became open. I had some French onion soup and It was actually really good. I would come back just for the atmosphere here

We came into Tonic as a party of 3 at 7:30 PM on Friday. We were seated instantly, and we got to admiring their cocktail names on their menu! I ordered the Cactus Coke (tequila + ginger + moroccan spices) for myself which was great. The moroccan spices left a wonderful aftertaste, and this was bubbly and bright. The absolute must try cocktail is the one named after Dune, the Sand of Arrakis. This was the most unique cocktail we had on the trip. While it wasn't mine, this is what I would have ordered next. We enjoyed our time here. Their craft cocktails are excellent here, and they have a lot of promise. I would love to return!

    Gorgeous light fixtures!

Can I give it a 10? Trying to find this place via GPS is crazy! When you walk up thru a small alley (not a scary alley), it's like walking thru a courtyard. The place is small and quaint and I was super excited to try the cocktails! Myrna Loy had my attention and it did not disappoint, maybe that's why I had 3? The menu is small, but I love that! Their special was Bison steak tartare, holy crap was that the most amazing and buttery tasting meat! It was served with toast points and it was so perfect! Fries were also a go to, they were so crispy and so yummy! Served with a dill mayo and some sort of tomato sauce (not ketchup). Yeah! Then the double cheeseburger with avocado and green chile, served on an English muffin.... Now let me tell you, the cheese was so meaty and so good.... Perfection! Two thumbs up!

Great cocktails - try the milk punch. It sounds odd but it is sooooooo good. One of the better cocktails I've ever tried.

We really wanted to like this place, great venue for music. Please consider adding several strong wine choices to round out the drink menu.

I ordered a cactus coke and this was possibly one of the best (top 3 best) tequila drinks I had on my trip.

Definitely the best bar we visited in Santa Fe…read more When we arrived there was still seating at the bar so we promptly sat ourselves there. We ordered a charcuterie and cheese board which was much larger than expected and had plenty of local options. I started with a See You At Dusk, which was a combo of Melleti, souchu, balasmic, ginger and walnut. I found it to be a very flavorful drink that paired well with the board. I next tried a Bywater which was rum, falernum, genepy and Averna. It was a very deep and rich cocktail which I also enjoyed. The bartender was very friendly and offered us small samples of a few unusual items they stock. Overall a very fun experience.

Martin insisted the Dark Winds cocktail integrate even more beets- so many beets that the mezcal itself was stifled like a flame under shovelfuls of fecund loam and that homey odor of fresh earth itself somehow overpowering a smoke-scented spirit- when this titan of imagination demanded more beet! in his signature drink, did he bang his closed fist against the table in passion? Did tears of certainty spark his eyes as he sat under those moody lights, standing firm that yes So Long, See You Tomorrow needs not one or two but three different types of sesame- what did he feel? What did intend to bankroll? And the sickest joke of all- the Bellow's Breath- a bone broth mocktail like some crystal cup of soup. Was that beverage intended to pogo stick my friend off the proverbial wagon into the depths of glugging Long Island ice teas just to feel something familiar again? Because it did. And my heart aches for that friend but I too would lose my mind if I were to stare into such a void and see whatever it is that stares back. Was this menu the vision of a team- a baffling Frankenweenie invented by committee- or the secret wish of one troubled mind? I see it all so clearly and yet I can't help but doubt my own memory. That many beets on such an expensive cocktail menu? Who salts blueberries? This total disregard for the green chile cult that runs this city like a delicious cabal? Had no drink technician ever walked from front door to car, inhaled the piñon perfumed air outside and thought, I can do something with that. I don't know what happened and I don't think I ever will but I know I did not like it. Also the bartenders were vacant and so confused that human beings wanted to order cocktails in a cocktail bar.

We had been few years back for our anniversary and ever since then we had wanted to go back. The waiter did his best to gather extra chairs and we were able to all fit at the round table. To my amazement, we had found a spot for the night to celebrate my birthday. The waiter asked what we had wanted to start with besides water for everyone. We got a bottle of red wine started and some margaritas along with a manhattan. Then afterwards couple of fish tacos and some carne asada arrived. We had great drinks and tasty food. Everything is delicious and so much great fun vibes. A definite memorable birthday to remember at this small but fantastic bar. Here's to coming back to the Dragon Room bar sooner.

Apparently moles aren't all dark chocolate spicy sauces ... ?!?? Loved the education and samples. I'm typically not a mole fan, but they were fun to try. We had the octopus but to me the sauce was too oily. The actual octopus was tender and delicious. Also had the duck skin tacos which were more of a minced duck meat taco and delish. The 5 stars go for impeccable service and the SOUP. This soup is not to be missed. Nothing on paper makes me think it should work but it totally does. It's a big lump of blue crap topped with creamy poblano pepper soup with whipped cream and amaretto and then topped with a spicy kick. Someone said cinnamon but for me it tasted more like hot red chili powder. Sounds incredibly weird but it was the best dish I've had in forever. We ended up sitting at the table early and having a drink there instead. We picked a pinto noir from the very extensive and well-composed wine list so it could open up a bit. A tasting of five moles was then brought to the table along with mini tacos to sample and choose which we wanted with our entre. I was partial to the red and New Mexico. As an appetizer I chose the foie gras which was slightly undercooked and had a bit too much berry compote. My entree was the seared duck breast which was also undercooked and difficult to cut. I was hoping for a crispy skin and it was rather soft and chewy. The dessert was good from the couple of spoonfuls I had but I was expecting much more overall.
