Kia is a Vivid Hair Specialist who has transformed my hair from its natural brown to teal, then pink with extensions, and now purple with a silver money piece! She's super sweet, and she's always been very realistic with me about what kind of maintenance certain colors or cuts need. (Despite how it may seem, I like low maintenance even though I still want fun colors.) For the time and service she provides, her rates are very reasonable. I've looked forward to every visit with her, and I feel like my self-confidence has grown not just because of my beautiful hair but also because of her positive and empowering outlook! Ariel is an amazing nail artist! I was never one to get my nails done regularly (low maintenance, like I wrote), but when I was getting my hair done, I'd see Kia's nails (always done by Ariel), and they were literally fantastic. So I gave it a whirl and got some fancy nails for a business trip. And then I asked for some fun nails for a wedding. The more I visited the salon, the more I enjoyed the ladies that worked there and the energy that I felt, and the more I wanted to come back. Now I come every 4 weeks for Ariel to do my nails. Each time I come with an idea or inspiration from Instagram, and Ariel makes magic. She's a true artist! I've never had her repeat a design in the nearly 2 years I've been going, and she's never once told me she wasn't capable of doing something I asked for. Even when I've arrived late (more often than I care to admit), she's been wonderfully kind and patient with me. Between these two wonderful ladies, I feel more beautiful and feminine than ever. I truly feel like they're my friends, and I'm so grateful to have found them and that I get to benefit from their expertise.

I was very clear with the receptionist about what I needed when I scheduled the appointment. I arrived a few minutes early and was told Emma was running half an hour late. When she finally came to fetch me she asked me what she could do for me. I told her. She said, "I don't cut short hair. My specialty is long hair." What kind of stylist can't cut short hair? She agreed to color it and tried to book me for the following week for a trim - with another stylist. I don't want to wait another week for a trim! The color she put on my hair was so dark it's almost black and does not match the color I already had. Guess I will have to start all over again from scratch. It's so very, very upsetting and disappointing.

I'm a natural auburn redhead and so I appreciated her. Still keeping my natural color but adding some blonde to it. That is not an easy task. KRESA is amazing at what she does. She made me feel so good after my appointment. To this day, I have not found anyone that can cut and color my hair like her. It's funny because when I first went to the salon in Ventura, it was because I was housesitting for my parents and since I live in a small mountain town I rarely get my hair done and I thought while I was there, I could do it. I was helping to plan my sister's wedding in March, and the bride and bridesmaids kept changing plans. People would want their makeup done and then change their mind, or they would want their hair done and then decide they didn't. There was a LOT of back and forth with Courtney, and she was SO helpful! She made all of the changes that we needed. She even scheduled one bridesmaid's hair the morning of the wedding because the bridesmaid decided that morning that she wanted it done! She was really lovely to work with! It was just something I washed and went about life. A close friend suggested Salon D'Mar so I reached out. BEST DECISION (even easier than Capital One) EVER! Mishel was receptive to my idea of a cut and color of black and purple. We were all set to go...until I saw a different idea I liked more and ruined the entire plan. Once again, Mishel listened to my new request and got what I needed for a purple and grey cut and color. I went to my appointment yesterday and 6 hours later had what I wanted. The salon does everything from nails to permanent make up. The place is clean and upscale. Fair pricing and good vibes/energy. The best part are the stylists. Christina, Veronica, and Mishel listen to what their clients want and offer suggestions but ultimately do what you requested. So happy I took the plunge and thank you ladies!

Through the whole process she asked me questions. What did I think about this? What do you think about that and really wanted an honest answer. We got all done and we looked at the picture and she said I need to cut some more here. She was really attentive and did a fantastic job. It's just really hard to get a hairstylist to listen and not make you feel like you have to settle , and then go home and redo the whole thing. I did not have that experience with Katie. She was fantastic. I would recommend her.
