I have used Thompson Upholstery two times: once for a wing chair and once to replace the seat on an…read moreantique rocker. I am very picky, but I would rate both jobs outstanding. I don't think Michael is inexpensive, but I do think he is fair. To give you an idea, he estimated to repad and recover an antique rocker bottom (his leather) would cost $150, but when I went to write the check, he said it would be $85. He said it didn't take as much time as he thought it would. How is that for fair?! Michael is extremely nice and will tell you upfront if he can do the job and what it will cost. He gets it back as fast as he can. I used to go to Dixie, which Charlie owned. After that wonderful shop closed, I had no one. I am so glad I found Thompson's Upholstery.

They honestly have a wide selection of designs and colors and as long as you have constant communication, then things should be fine as they call you and also email you. I have made some pretty awesome designs with them from Pikachu pocket shirts to Koifish hoodies for the organizations that I am a part of at Emory University. People who pre-order with me are super happy for the cost and quality. The people here are very nice and they really do whatever they can to make you happy. A lot of times, it's the price that turns me away but for them, you can always talk back and compromise. The graphics designer really tries to make sure to create what you want. There was a design of a koi fish that I submitted, but the image was in low resolution. At first, he made another whole new design, but he saw how sad I was and how I really wanted the original one. He took it upon himself to get back and spend extra time to make it work. At the end of the day it worked and no one asked him to do that. He wanted the challenge and to give me a smile at the end of the day. The process normally takes about 2-3 weeks, but you can always speed up the process to as little as 1 week with extra costs. Superb group. I am super happy for this company and I will continue to come here for anything I need as I create my brand or help a club out during my College years. I love this place and the people.

One of the 4 posters snapped on the foot board about 1/3 of the way up and then again at the top, as well as having small pieces splinter off, so you could see into the unstained wood. John gave us a reasonable estimate, completed the work diligently, and took care of moving the footboard in and out. He even helped us set up temporarily bracing for the bed while the footboard was being repaired. When we got our footboard back, I was SHOCKED at how good it looked. I had low expectations because of the severity of the breaks and splintered pieces, not because of John's ability. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS NEVER DAMAGED AND YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW! The stain is well-matched, holes are filled in, and we had to even get down and stare for a couple seconds to find where the wood originally snapped. My grandparents gave us this bed, so I was devastated when it broke, but now I'm so happy to have it fixed!
