I was also pleasantly surprised that they brought me the left over fabric, from my re-upholstery job. It is not too much, but it is enough for me to take right back to them, and order a few small accent pillows to match the daybed. (Which I plan to do soon.) They could have discarded the fabric or made pillows to sell in their shop, and I would never have known the difference. The honesty meant a lot to me. And speaking of fabric ... they have zillions of beautiful choices, in all price ranges. They were very patient with me and I am a person who does thorough research and takes her time, before I finally make a decision. I will admit a lot of places would have likely become annoyed or frustrated with me, for taking so much time and visiting the showroom to look through samples, over and over and over again, requesting pricing. But they were very kind and pleasant and willing to check pricing for me on many fabrics, many times. I also felt they charged a very fair price, especially considering the craftsmanship and turn around time and their willingness to do the pick up and drop off. The turn around time was so much faster than I expected. It was the holidays and I had to request they hold the daybed a few extra weeks for me, due to my extra traveling and holiday activities. True to form, they were very accommodating and understanding. If you find this review, consider yourself DONE looking for a quality re-upholstery business. 5 Star Custom Upholstery has earned a customer for life, in me. LA is such a talented craftswoman with a real passion for her work, which ranges from woodworking and restoring antique pieces to reupholstering furniture (and much more I'm sure). Our pieces look better than ever, and LA's attention to detail is incredible! We paid an extra fee to have the furniture picked up and delivered by her friendly delivery team and it was well worth it. Invoicing (50% deposit and 50% upon completion prior to delivery) is simple and paperless via Intuit Quickbooks and scheduling was a breeze thanks to Adia in customer service. I don't think Michael is inexpensive, but I do think he is fair. To give you an idea, he estimated to repad and recover an antique rocker bottom (his leather) would cost $150, but when I went to write the check, he said it would be $85. He said it didn't take as much time as he thought it would. How is that for fair?! Michael is extremely nice and will tell you upfront if he can do the job and what it will cost. He gets it back as fast as he can. I used to go to Dixie, which Charlie owned. After that wonderful shop closed, I had no one. I am so glad I found Thompson's Upholstery.
