Very disappointed today. i purposely went before 1000 today so i would be sure and have a vacuum bay. Half the bays were closed and was flagged to leave right after the wash. When i put my window down to talk to attendant, asked if i could get a voucher to come back later to vacuum--i was told that it all depends on how busy they are this week--didn't give me a good answer and didn't offer me anything. read more

(Edited to add that I'm finally putting this review in now because they have started sending me spam emails and texts again, obviously I requested, as I would never go back there. If they damage your car, you'll almost certainly have to get a lawyer to get them to take care of it and they know you can't sue for court costs in KS, so assume most people won't waste the money on the lawyer and just go away.) I can't stand it when people leave hyperbolic reviews on yelp. In general, I typically either just assume they have something personal against the place or our unreasonable in their expectations. That said, if I could give a negative star review to anywhere I've ever been or establishment I have been a patron of, it would 100% be this specific Tommy's express. I had monthly memberships for both my wife and myself for over two years when I decided to take my brand new car there to get washed on the way home from work. A large truck in front of me clearly had a rock come off it and get stuck to one of the hanging pieces that swish back-and-forth. When going through the car wash the rock not only scratched the hood of my car, all the way over the top and onto the trunk lid, but actually hit in the front of the hood with enough force to dent the metal and go all the way through the clearcoat, the paint, and down to bare metal. This was a two month old BMW 850. I noticed the damage immediately, took timestamp pictures, and contacted the car wash. Initially, the manager working at the time, seemed very reasonable, and simply asked me to send them pictures of the damage. I had to recontact Them multiple times before I even got a response a few weeks later after sending the pictures. They wanted me to bring the car up for them to look at it again, again having me wait and recontact them multiple times before getting any response. Eventually, I was told that they reviewed the video of my arrival to the car wash and leaving the car wash and it was not present on arrival or departure. when I asked to be shown the video they told me someone would contact me so they could have me come up and watch it. Again, I received no contact back from them until I contacted them multiple more times. The damage was over $2000 to be fixed. I know these types of places carry insurance for this very purpose. I also understand that sometimes things happen that are not necessarily within the control of a business. All I was asking was for them to submit it to their insurance to get my brand new car fixed from what was something that was very clearly from their car wash. The pattern of the scratch over the hood, and all the way onto the trunk even followed the back and forth swishing pattern of the hanging pieces of fabric. I am sure they figured someone with a car that cost that much wouldn't be willing to go to the effort of continuing to push to get them to do the right thing. I'm not that person. It required me getting a lawyer which cost almost as much as getting the car fixed was going to cost to get them to even submit it to their insurance. I then had to deal with their insurance adjuster multiple more times before they finally gave me a check to pay for the damages. I would not recommend anybody use this car wash unless you want to have your car damaged. Additionally, if you are going to utilize it, I'd strongly recommend taking a full video of your car right before you pull into line and check very closely with timestamp videos as soon as you get out of the car wash. Since that time I've told everyone I know not to use them and had multiple people tell me they have also gotten their vehicle damaged there, though none as much as my car was. They never did give me access to the videos they claimed showed the car having no damage on departure and I'm sure finally agreed to settle because it was evident on the video and they knew it was going to be subject to discovery when I took them to court over it. This was March of 2020, so I suppose they could have changed ownership since then and have someone ethical owning it now, as it was pretty obvious the owner was making the decisions about trying to just keep ignoring me and lying about the videos, but this was the singular most unprofessional interaction I've ever had with a business in my life. Note, the entire roof of my car was glass, so there wasn't scratch on the roof, but you can clearly see it up the hood and then on the trunk lid as well. read more

Boyfriend visited on Saturday January 28, 2024. He didn't have his truck bed completely cleaned out and was told he wasn't allowed to run through because it could damage the machines. Ashley was polite, concise and she communicated well. He understood why, and went and fixed the problem and still got his car washed. Employees always happy to help and I've never had a bad experience here. I've live around the area so I've seen the progression of this car wash with seeing friends work in and out of this establishment aswell. As much as they might not like work the people(teenagers) they hire are always respectful and kind which is asking a lot! Is it possible to LOVE a car wash? OMG, I feel so shallow by loving this place but I was bowled over. I had to pick up a friend and her 2 children and I wanted my car to be sparkly clean. I do not live in this area and did not know much about the car wash situation in Johnson County. I only knew where I did not want to go and that is Waterways. I remember seeing this interesting looking building on a trip to town and decided to give it a try. WOW. Sure glad I did. There are many different lanes depending on which wash package you are getting and how you are paying. It certainly made the line quick and easy. I also purchased a Clean Car kit for $5.00 which was quite the bargain. It contained a rag, two window washing sheets, a car smell tree, and an Armor all wipe. Great bargain for $5.00. I purchased the top dollar wash and it was so easy. Nothing touches your car. Nothing except for soft, fluffy brushes. The car is on a conveyor belt thing and you just zip zip through. The best part is that my car looked better than it has ever looked. It was all shiny and show-room bright. One incredible perk is that they have FREE vacuums. Not only are they free but they are set up in a way that you do not have to move your car or re-park to get the hose to fit. You park between two hoses so you have one for drivers side and one for passengers side. These vacuums are not for wimps, either. The vacuums were very powerful. There was plenty of room to navigate and get your floor mats out. Perfect set up. If that weren't enough, a very nice attendant gave me a coupon for a free drink at the eCafe next door. What a treat! The only reason I did not give Tommy's 5 stars is that before I went here, I downloaded the IOS app. There was some glitch and I accidentally signed up for the $21 monthly package. Yes, it was my fault but the app was designed in such a way that it was not very clear what you were signing up for. I thought it was an app that you could pre-pay or pay with a bar code or something- like the Starbucks app. I did not realize when I gave them my credit card that I was actually signing up for a monthly membership. I emailed corporate but heard nothing back from them. When I went to this location, the attendant at the window was very nice and she and her manager fixed it for me. I've been really happy with these guys and gals. The wash gets off nearly any Midwest winter grime and the vacuums always have great suction. I though I had sucked my debut card up into the vacuum and asked an employee for help. After the last snow, my car had so much salt and grime that I couldn't see out of my window! I stopped by and the guy at the window was so nice, I ended up getting a month! 2 washes and it pays for itself. I love the conveyor belt. I am from out of town and stopped by this place today. This is not the type of car wash I normally go to so there was a bit of confusion when I needed to put my car in neutral. My transmissions electronic and putting it in neutral can be tricky it takes just the right touch. Instead of the young lady being helpful her response "well I can't help you I don't drive a Mercedes!" Car was not that clean after a 15.00 wash. Drove into Tommy's car wash in March of 2019. The car wash was packed people were backed up to get in. My membership was the best one they had to offer. Because I paid by the month for the best Wash. when the car wash starts it sprays your car and then visit with cloth strips. When you get towards the end of the wash brushes pop up and do your wheels. As I exited the car wash there was no place to park to wipe it down because they were so busy and there were cars right behind me so I had to exit. I went straight home to my home which is 3.9 miles away open the door to my car got out and seeing the damage to my car. I got right back in the car called him at Tommy's car wars corporate and told them what happened that my car was damaged. They said bring it by Monday and they would look at it. I said no I'll bring it by right now. I was back at their place in less than 15 minutes. Then  the Man came out and looked at it and said what happened. I said something went wrong with your car wash and did this damage to my car. He took pictures of it and said someone would get a hold of you in a few days. The manager wasn't there. The manager Kelsey Coil met with me and said she had the film of my car and The car wash didn't do any damage. I told her I drove straight home and straight back. Within 15 minutes and I didn't damage it the car wash did. She said she had it on film that showed it coming out OK. I told her I always stop and wipe my mirrors but I couldn't that day because they were too busy and I went straight home and then I came straight back. She said it wasn't her problem and didn't try to find out what happened. I called corporate office of Tommy's car wars corporate and told them what happened. They said it's a franchise in the owners would have to solve the problem. I got a hold of the owners and met with them and they said the film cleared them because when it came out it didn't appear there was any damage. I looked up the film and ask him if the dates could be changed on the film because I went in there a lot and had my car wash a couple times a week. They didn't answer my question they just said they would never do that. When I looked at the film it was quite fuzzy you couldn't see up close and I ask him to blow it up so I could take a good look and they told me no they didn't have too. They didn't make any effort whatsoever to find out if it did the damage to my vehicle or not and said no they weren't paying anything to have it fixed. I didn't damage my car they did. The machine you can see spun on the side of the chrome as if it was a motor something hitting it over and over. The customer satisfaction  is non-existence because they don't care. read more

We have the Unlimited Membership and we love it! There usually isn't a wait to get into the car wash, and if there is we have our own designated lane and get priority over others in line. They offer free vacuums as well as microfiber towels once you are out of the wash, and we also can get free air fresheners. They have a mat washing station for your floormats as well. read more

**Wears the paint off your vehicle, management won't reply** After two years of membership my Escalade received wear marks on the painted window trim equally on both sides. My vehicle was five years old when I started taking it there and it's always garaged with yearly cut, buff, and sealant applied. I requested someone to look into it and was advised to stop by so a team member (I believe his name was Luke) could review the issue. I showed him the horizontal wear marks on the trim and how it was fairly even on both sides. I pointed out perhaps the most obvious indicator that the wash brush system wore the point off the trim is that I always fold my mirrors in during the wash cycle and the portion the trim behind the folded mirrors have perfect paint with no wear or brush marks. The employee took a few photos and advised me that his manager would review the photos and get back to me as he "deals with this a lot". I never heard back from anyone and submitted another ticket. No one has attempted to reach out for the past five months. My vehicle required $800 worth of parts plus installation to fix. I cancelled my membership and will never go back. read more
