Fun, friendly bar and tex-mex eatery marked only with a small hand-painted sign and reached via a back stairwell from the car park, making it feel a bit like a speakeasy! Once upstairs you're in a fiesta of bright colours and fab hand-drawn artwork (that we were invited to add to by the staff!). It's a casual place for drinks and eats and has a balcony where you can sip cool drinks in the sun. The drinks list includes several popular Mexican and American beers, wine, sangria and cocktails including a sweet tequila cocktail section. I had one of those - a Mayan Mule made with tequila, ginger beer, bitters, lime and mint, then a Tecate with my food. The menu covers American and Tex-Mex choices like burgers, tacos, ribs, hot dogs, nachos, burritos, etc. I had the veggie burrito and shared tortilla chips with guac and pico de gallo. The food was decent and we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. read more

Great Mexican restaurant / bar in Bathurst CBD. The music is at a level where you'll have to speak up to be heard, for this reason it seems more suited to the uni crowd or those who don't mind a bit of atmosphere. The food will not disappoint and is reasonably priced, it's better than all those pop up Mexican joints these days, serves alcohol too Carona around 5 bux. Allows split/itemised billing. Will go again. read more

about a year ago, my family of five went here. the atmosphere, was great, the staff was excellent. but what was lacking was the food quality. the steaks were over cooked. the burgers were long on out of season salad toppings, and less about the burger. and the burrito was forgettable. you go to a dine in restaurant and expect a burrito on a platter with sides available to add. theirs is hot meats mixed with cold cream's wrapped in a flour tortilla, wrapped in foil. the hot food is cold, and the cold toppings are warm. when you unwrap the foil, the tortilla tears with it. leaving heaps of loose meats that you have to cradle to avoid losing it. i could have literally cooked the same meal for my family at home for half the price and twice the taste. sad i must say. :( read more
