On Friday June 30th, my fiancé, her mother, and I went to the Tommy Hilfiger store located at the Jersey Gardens Mall at Elizabeth New Jersey. To say that my experience there was less than desirable would be sugar coating it. To make a long story short, my fiancé's mother was there to buy a large quantity of shirts for us to take to our family in Brazil. Our combined families are very large, and she was planning on getting the men t shirts. After spending approximately 25 minutes waiting in line, we proceeded to the checkout area, where the cashier who was supposed to ring us up, didn't. Instead, she called the manager, who after looking at the amount of items we had, asked me if we were buying to resell. Keep in mind, I wasn't the one making the transaction, I was just there to drive the car and carry the bags. So without giving it much thought, I said, "I'm not sure." The manager, whose name is Kia, immediately took all the items away and handed me a flyer about the company policy regarding reselling. After my mother in law explained the situation to me and why she picked out so many shirts, I tried to translate that so that Kia would understand as well. I genuinely didn't know, however I did not confirm her accusation either. She just kept repeating that I had already told her that we were reselling and that she would not allow us make any purchases, not even my fiancé's blouses! I felt angry, mortified, and annoyed. The worst part is that none of them were able to get the t shirts they wanted. Now, I don't care about Kia, you guys can promote her for all I'm concerned. All I ask is for an apology letter. She didn't even hear me out after I specifically explained that it was just a misunderstanding and told her what the actual situation was. She was extremely disrespectful and did nothing but belittle my attempts to properly explain the situation. Regardless, I don't plan on ever being a patron at this location ever again, and I will make sure to let others know what happened and why they shouldn't spend their time and money there either. Thank you. read more
