So it was with a little happy 4-y/o friends kid accompanied by us, 3 adults (at least on paper I…read moreguess) that we arrived to Aquaria to see the shark-feeding mentioned on their homepage at 11:00. In the cashier charged all of us, including the little 4 y/o 440kr in total. Woooow!!! We were a little late so we were told to go in by the back entrance so we could see the shark feeding. I saw myself running through rooms for 5-10mins just to get there in time. But that was wrong, it's a 10s walk to the tank. The little room was packed with kids all excited so we had to squeeze us in close to the glass in order to see something. The feeding was a flop because you had to be in the so called glass tunnel (this looked massive on internet but was only like a meter long) which basically fit a handful of kids so most didn't see much. Few minutes later and it was finished. So what else was here but the 10m long aquarium? Well a few with jellyfishes, some exotic fishes, 2 starfishes and a couple of cute seahorses. Next room was much smaller and had a mini waterfall with some salmons in it and lots of vegetation, not much to see. There was a tropic room which was warm and humid with basically nothing much to see. But at least it looked cool walking in a jungle for 15m's around the room. Then there was 2 small containers with farmed salmons from 1-2 year which swam in a circle. Last it was a frog room (held in a 20 square meters) which was kinda exciting to see if you could find the different frogs. If you stretch it, you could spend 20-25mins and that is basically what you get for 440kr for 3.5ppl. If you have time go down to Copenhagen (actually just outside the airport) and you will see a real aquarium instead of this sad place. Or even go and see any of the free fish zoo-stores in Stockholm and have a nicer time. In the end you can spend the 440kr on a nice lunch with a beer or something which will fill you up and make you happy. Aquarium, it's a joke.

SEK 132 plus another 10 to use a locker for a mere four rooms. Luckily, if you purchase the Stockholm Card it's included. The exhibits themselves include a claustrophobic rain forest exhibit with hardly any marine life, a tiny tropical aquarium, frog room and a Nordic exhibit which has practically nothing. Definitely not worth your time and I suggest skipping this attraction.

The museum itself is definitely worthy of visiting. Suggest walk along the water trail in the park in front of the embassy area to get to the museum. It's so peaceful and beautiful! I came at around 3 not knowing that the museum closed at 5 so I would recommend going earlier if possible. There was free Wi-Fi and lockers to store everything. The bottom floor had 100 innovations and an interactive children's exhibit which I enjoyed. Since we were crunched on time, we browsed through the other exhibits pretty quickly so we could spend more time at the Game On exhibit. The Game On exhibit had every video game you could possibly think of. I really enjoyed playing the video games I hadn't played in a really long time and it reminded me how fun video games are. They extended the dates for the exhibit so I would recommend going before the exhibit ends!

Because it closes a little later than the Tre Kroner museum, I went here after touring the palace. I ended up saving the best museum for last (incidentally) and learned the most from this stop. The museum is organized as a row of several rooms progressing through different periods of Swedish royalty. Each section has incredible artifacts, from suits of armor and swords to royal vestments. The amount of history here was just astounding, and I also learned a ton about Swedish history- something that was (literally and figuratively) quite foreign to me. There are small tablets (in Swedish and English) you can take out of a cupboard that describes the items present in the display cases, which was a nice touch. This part of the museum already made it worth the money. But, there was also more to be uncovered. The basement holds the royal carriages. These go from children's carriages, all the way to full-sized carriages that needed 8 horses to pull them. Although these were interesting, it obviously did not take as much time to go through this section. It housed incredible works of art, but there was only so much time you could spend analyzing the building materials and reading the information. All in all, an incredible museum whether you're interested in history or not. At the very least, a great place to take kids who like knights in shining armor, and at the very most a place to deepen your knowledge about Europe.

If you're a history nerd like me, you will read about every display (in English and Swedish) which are grouped into centuries, and find the stories even more fascinating than the clothing. After the exhibits, you can view a short film (each showing alternates between Swedish and English) summarizing the exhibits which, in truth, gives you an opportunity to rest your feet and sit down. If you have additional energy to spare and appreciate Manga, there is a Manga version of Sweden's Monarch history upstairs. While the entrance fee is FREE, the price belies the wealth of history contained wherein.

After entering we decided to walk the path up to the park instead of buying a ticket for the funicular. It took roughly 10 minutes on a slight incline. Skansen was huge and does take time to go from place to place. Initially we wandered from building to building and many were not staffed or only viewable from the outside. While it was interesting to read the posted signs it wasn't too interesting. At the Oktorp farmstead, we finally found the first staffed location and got to see and learn about dying of yarn. Here we also learned which buildings were staffed and from that point forward gave us a plan of how to tackle Skansen and made the visit much more enjoyable. We had a great conversation about politics in the People's House which was very appropriate and compared it against present day in both our countries. Many parallels. We learned more about typical farm life in the Skane Farmstead while stooping low inside the house and that led to the Delsbo Farmstead. Delsbo was quite the opposite as it was ornately decorated with detailed wall paintings paid for by the well to do family per the staff. I highly encourage anyone visiting to engage with the staff as they were very enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge of the period or activities that went on in that particular farmstead, building, church, etc. We skipped seeing all the animals they kept towards the back of Skansen as well as the aquarium. Overall spent over 2 hours here and likely could've spent more if more buildings were staffed and open. Glad the weather held throughout our visit.
