Review for Dodge's Gas Station, S McKenzie, Foley, AL…read more I had a really disappointing experience at Dodge's Gas Station on S McKenzie recently, and I feel it's important to share. My boyfriend and I walked over from our hotel to grab some DayQuil and tobacco products before he headed to work. Madison, the cashier, provided absolutely HORRIBLE customer service, which made us feel uncomfortable and borderline disrespected with a hint of racism. Here's what happened: Madison asked for my ID, which was confusing because just two days prior, she sold us alcohol, cigarettes, and an e-vape without asking for it. My boyfriend started to show his ID but she insisted on she must see mine. We went back to the hotel to grab my ID, and when I returned, it seemed like she had alerted the other staff about us, possibly making them aware that we was walking back in and to stop talking about the situation. When we got to the counter, she goes to get the merchandise and proceeded to THROW it onto the counter, demanding my ID again. It felt overly aggressive, especially since she didn't even check my boyfriend's ID. She was only focused on harassing me about mine. After I showed her my ID and paid, I asked her to hand me the merchandise in my hand, but she outright refused, saying she didn't have to put anything in my hand. When I told her that it's basic customer service to hand products to customers, her response was dismissive. She said " why should I have to put something in your hand" A black employee then stepped in and handed the products to my boyfriend, saying "this is too much." I couldn't tell if she was referring to my request for basic respect or Madison's lack of respect and customer service skills. Either way, it was frustrating but I still thanked her for putting it in his hand. I won't be returning to this store because I know you guys not going to fire her it clear as day she is use to it , and it's disheartening to hear from another customer as we are leaving out that Madison's behavior has been reported multiple times without any action taken. It leaves a bad taste and makes me question whether Dodge's supports this kind of borderline racist treatment environment. I truly hope management addresses these issues because no one should feel unwelcome or disrespected, especially in a service setting.

Typical TT, if not a bit shabby and due for a remodel, as many of the busier stores have had in the past year or two. What I found remarkable (hence these remarks) is that this location has, as far as I can remember, the only Tom Thumb-branded car wash that I have ever seen. It's in a detached structure and I didn't get a good look at it, but from what I saw, it looked like it was in good repair and not neglected. I should've snapped a picture, but I wanted to get my shipping supplies and go eat a couple of banh mi sammitches, so I was definitely on a mission. I had an absolutely awful experience at the Cumberland Farms on Sunday, February 7th. Fair enough--except for the fact that both employees were just standing around at the register, doing nothing. When I asked if they could help or give me an idea of when the restroom would be available, they rudely dismissed me and basically told me it wasn't their problem. Another customer mentioned that the restroom had been closed since 7 a.m., which makes me think this had nothing to do with "cleaning" and everything to do with pure laziness. Not only was the staff completely unhelpful, but their attitude was downright nasty. If you hate dealing with the public that much, maybe you should find a new job! Cumberland Farms, you should seriously reconsider who you're hiring because this level of customer service is beyond unacceptable. I won't be coming back, and I'd recommend others take their business elsewhere too.

This store is so much cleaner and the buffet so much nicer than any of the New Orleans area locations I've frequented. It is nice to get my New Orleans staples here like Rouse's house brand Creole Mustard and their superior 100% olive oil Rouse's Olive Salad in regular or jalapeno. They even have Hubig's Pies here! Rouse's has what New Orleans folks need to stay sane when they are down in the culinary wilds of Lower Alabama where finding just regular mustard is often quite a task much less the BEST mustard option of creole mustard is nearly impossible to find at local restaurants unless you bring your own. I always keep creole mustard in my vehicle at all times as I have frequent mustard emergencies whenever I have to deal with the culinary shortcomings of Alabama. I was so happy when I went down the spice aisle to find my McCormick seasoned meat tenderizer. I can't find it in any grocery store in Florida and it was a staple in my pantry for many years. I have been ordering it on Amazon for a ridiculous price. I got two. One for Pensacola and one to bring back with me to Panama. Now I don't have to drive all the way to New Orleans to get great Cajun and Creole faves. I'm also pretty excited about the hot bar. Seafood Friday 999 a pound and the only day they serve seafood gumbo. I'm sure the chicken gumbo is great but there's nothing like seafood gumbo. What's even greater is the customer Service at Rouses! All of the workers are superduper, friendly, and helpful. My son got fresh made popcorn and cotton candy. The sushi chef hooked me up with sushi exactly the way I like it. You just can't go wrong with Rouses!!
