So I drove up, was greeted and she didn't make me feel like I needed to go up although my car was a HOT mess covered in bugs from a recent trip to Austin. She did ask me if I wanted to pay the extra $5 for tire shine however I politely declined. As I'm writing this I also realized that I didn't ask if they towel dry with that tire shine or what but I'll find out on my next trip. Get to the drive through, the guy guides me to turn my wheel (left, right, right - you know the deal) however I rolled my window down and yelled "hey, can you spray or scrub to loosen up the bugs?" He has me pull back a little and proceeds to spray down my car and scrub my hood and spray again and scrub again (what can I say, lots of bugs) and then sent me on my way. Now this isn't a bunch of heavy ropes slapping your car, it was brushes and at the end it wasn't air that felt like a tornado was coming but more like a big rag that rolled over your car. I go to vacuum out my car and a guy comes over and asks, did all the bugs come off to which I tell him "no" and he says I'll be right back. In my mind they were gonna send me back through the wash again however he comes back and wipes the spots the bugs didn't come off at. (Oh, he has my attention!) Another guy comes over and asks why I didn't get the tire shine and I explained and he says mind if wipe your rims off as a courtesy (why, yes please!). Overall I left feeling like this was one of the better washes my car has had in a long time (I used to have a guy who did hand washes for the same price but you know, inflation). I will definitely be back, I'm looking at the monthly plans AND they informed me that they have someone who will wipe out the inside of your car and vacuum (for an additional charge of course). If you are in the area, give them a try!

When I caught the charges and complained, they offered to refund one of the months but declined to credit for both of the unauthorized months. That didn't end up mattering because they never credited any charges, just kept the money. Perhaps my fault for trusting them, I'd recommend paying for each car wash separately and don't subject yourself to the subscription or believe anything they say when trying so sell you on the idea. Or just find another car wash.

I haven't been in store yet but I did get gas here a few weeks ago and I found them on DoorDash yesterday. I just had to order a breakfast pizza. I got a large veggie+bacon. It was pretty heavy on the onion which didn't bother me but my husband had to add taco sauce to cut the onion a bit. The pizza was hot and fresh even being delivered 15-20 mins away. I am so happy to know we have a Casey's nearby!

The tacos at Fuel City rival some of the best ones I've had in the Lone Star state, but bring cash and make sure to read the menu carefully - cheese, for example, is extra. I've had the pleasure of visiting Fuel City in both Haltom and Dallas, both providing delicious tacos, fun taxidermy, and some live animals to boot. Eating 7 tacos pushes you over $20, which is sit down restaurant territory for some quick grab and go food. For the price of each taco, you will get two layers of tortilla with a sprinkle of meat and onion. Let's do the math: for the price of just two of these tacos, I can go to In N Out and get a Double Double. That gets me two 100% pure beef patties packing 37 grams of actual protein, and I will leave completely full. What am I supposed to do with two Fuel City tacos? Use them to fill the spaces between my teeth? Also, skip the snacks inside. They price gouge like crazy! Sometimes nearly 2x what you would pay at 7-Eleven or Tom Thumb (which are not even cheap to begin with). Last time I checked, a bag of Hot Cheetos here was 6 bucks! For perspective, they are $3.97 at Walmart and $4.79 at Target. It is a total rip off. The final straw was the horchata. I bought two cups at 6:00 PM, drank one, and put the second straight into the fridge. By midnight, it had completely curdled and turned sour. It was clearly spoiled and at the end of its shelf life when sold, and it gave me a case of the runs later that night. This place survives solely on ancient hype, out of town truck drivers, transients who do not know the area, and nighttime biker meet ups. No local should pay a massive premium for gas station tacos and food poisoning when authentic neighborhood taquerias and actual burger joints offer real value for a less money.
