If you decide to go, just know that there is no admission fee and you are free to come and enjoy the beach and sculptures, but it will cost you $5 per hour to park plus a small convenience fee and parking is quite limited. I was disappointed to see that though sculptures made with sand from treasure Island. I assume there was a logistical reason, that it seemed a little strange to me. I was also a little surprised by the designs and styles of the sculptures. There were actually very few that had an ocean or sand theme, with many artists choosing things that work personal to them. It was a very interesting experience. Also they leave the statues up, so if you are unable to attend, you can come and see the statues for a few weeks after the event.

It is located on Teasure Island Beach in front of Sloppy Joes. If you get there early enough there is the beach parking you can use but also plenty of event parking throughout the area that you'd just have to walk a little from. The beach parking is hourly so if you plan on spending some time down in that area walking around or eating after you see the sculptures it may be worth your bang to get into one of the flat rate parking locations. This event had an opening weekend with all the works, vendors, music, etc but was open all week basically 24/7 because it is not in tents or a secured area like the Sugar Sand Festival in Clearwater is. I went during the week early to avoid as many people as I can for my photos. They were also having an encore weekend the following weekend that would also have all the vendors, etc. Each piece you could fully walking around to get different angles for photos and see just how much detail went into these temporary pieces of art. Just beautiful and though a little windy when I went, the weather was perfect. This is a free event but they did have a donation box out that noted to help keep this free, donations are welcomed.

Mother's Day Madeira Beach…read more May 2026 We waited until later in the evening to finally walk out onto the beach after the Florida heat cooled down enough for us to enjoy it safely. The Gulf was is so beautiful at this time of the day , the breeze felt soft against our skin, and the fine white sand stretched endlessly beneath our feet. My mother is in her 80s now, and as we walked slowly together along the shoreline, I found myself thinking quietly... how many more days... months... or years do I have left with her? Life is so precious. Time moves faster than we all realize. Being able to spend quality time with my mother is a rare and precious gift.. moments like this at the beautiful ocean with the sound of the waves crashing along the shoreline... the warmth of the sunset wrapping us with tactile and visible heat .. At this moment in time I cherish every single moment I have with her. Nothing is forever

Gorgeous scenery, never ending blues that fade into pure white sands, beach-houses so spectacular the design cognoscenti applaud for their visuals gleaming in the sun kissed backdrop of "La Florida" The Land that Ponce de León claimed for his king and faith, naming it "La Florida" AKA "Feast of Flowers." OuiOui. What a beautiful feast indeed, non-commercialized, natural, secluded, what seems to be a never ending dream.. a paradise, as far as the eye can see, never crowded. Keep walking, ponder life's journey, then, keep going.. breathe in the sea air, you become "elated." To walk or tread on air is to feel "elated." Every breath you take, every step you make, walking, breathing, free flowing breathing, living in the moment, breathing in the Madeira beach sea air, breathing in the precious spark of life, inhale, exhale, the name of God, reminds me of the story of the name of God.. "There was a moment when Moses had the nerve to ask God what his name is. God was gracious enough to answer, and the name he gave is recorded in the original Hebrew as YHWH. Over time, we've arbitrarily added an "a" and an "e" in there to get YaHWeH, presumably because we have a preference for vowels. But scholars and Rabbi's have noted that the letters YHWH represent breathing sounds, or aspirated consonants. When pronounced without intervening vowels, it actually sounds like breathing. YH (inhale) ~ WH (exhale) So a baby's first cry, his first breath, speaks the name of God. A deep sigh calls His name - or a groan or gasp that is too heavy for mere words. Even an atheist would speak His name, unaware that their very breath is giving constant acknowledgment to God. Likewise, a person leaves this Earth with their last breath, when God's name is no longer filling their lungs. Being alive means I speak His name constantly. In sadness, we breathe heavy sighs. In joy, our lungs feel almost as though they'll burst. In fear, we hold our breath, and we often have to be reminded to breathe again in order to help us calm down. When we're about to do something challenging, we take a deep breath to source our courage. When you think about it, breathing is giving him praise. Even in the most difficult moments. God chose to give himself a name that we can't help but speak in every moment that we're alive." All of us, everyone, everywhere forever walking, sleeping, breathing, with the Breathtakingly beautiful name of God on our lips. "YH" inhale, "WH" exhale.. breathing, walking Madeira beach, on moi path, "elated" treading on air, Glorifying moi life force, moi Chi, moi Aura. Glorifying YH WH. "Added to my list of top 10 beaches in America." Highest Recommendations.

One would think that any city along the Gulf Coast of Florida in the Tampa Bay area would try to be…read moreas friendly to its visitors as possible, given all these cities are competing with each other. They all want as large a piece as possible of the visitor dollar pie, whether it be room nights in the hotels and associated bed taxes, locals staycationing or day tripping and generating sales tax revenue, people passing through while going up or down the beaches, etc. Well, if that seems logical to you, you haven't experienced Treasure Island. TI's government, and by extension police department, seem intent on wringing anything they can out of visitors. There effectively is no more public parking; it's all metered, even spots nowhere near the beach. Beyond parking is the police, who I can only assume work on citation quotas because they will pull you over and ticket you if you do absolutely anything that can be considered a moving violation, no leeway, no warnings. One mile over the speed limit? Ticket. Incomplete stop, ticket. Non-moving violations are even worse; park an inch outside of a space, stay a minute past the meter, park your car facing the wrong direction (i.e. right wheels must be on the curb side per TI statute), believe me, you're going to get a ticket. Never had a ticket there before? Doesn't matter, first time offender means first time revenue source for TI, not someone to give a break to. Want to know how serious they are about writing tickets? They don't even handle the process beyond pushing a button as they walk past each violator; they use software and hardware from a company called Complus Data Innovations, Inc. who advises "We offer the most comprehensive and efficient computerized parking ticket software and parking citation system available to municipalities". Yep, TI has a very 'efficient' ticket writing operation; they should be proud. If you receive a ticket, you only have 15 days to pay or the fine doubles. Want to pay it online? Sure, add on a $3.50 fee per ticket. Even if you pay by check, they don't handle that themselves either, they simply write too many tickets to keep up with. Your check will be going to Complus up in Tarrytown, New York. Complus brags about how good they are at collecting your money, "CDI clients enjoy parking violation collection rates as high as 96%. Outsource parking enforcement with the most comprehensive, full service Parking Ticket Management solution available and together we'll make your collection rates soar." Awesome, TI's collection rates are clearly soaring! Anyway, beyond the 'great' interactions with the police, TI is even considering adding tolls to get into the city on the main Central Avenue road. That is telling; let's charge people just for the privilege of driving into TI. Given there's only one modern hotel in the city, and perhaps two decent restaurants, I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're trying to decide where to vacation, the downsides and attitude of the city towards its visitors just leave a bad taste. You can get far more variety and bang for your buck in St Pete Beach a couple miles south, Pass-A-Grille (part of St Pete Beach), Madeira Beach to the north, or even Clearwater Beach if you're looking for a resort-style experience.
