This is a unique and creative experience in nature that's small yet mighty. Getting here is going…read moreto be a workout! Here's what you need to know: 1. Wear your most comfortable flip flops and bring a pair of walking sneakers and socks (in case the flops wear you down) 2. Bring a fannypack/tote filled with string and a sharpie. Also pack water and a snack. 3. Go to the bathroom before you hike it'll be a walk! 4. If you park stay on Mandalay Ave and park alongside the street before the roundabout that leads into the residential area. When you get a meter stsnd or by app reserve 2 hours 15 min. Trust me - it's way better to overestimate your walking time. We reserved an hour and a half and underestimated by 15 min. We were power walking at near nighttime on the beach. The parking fee was super cheap! 5. Go down the street and walk to the beach facing the water and head immediately right following the shore. You'll follow the shore for 2.5 miles. Yes, that far!! Once you've gone to the way way way far side you'll hit an L shape of trees that form a Grove collection of shell decorated art trees! 6. Grab a shell with a hole, decorate the shell with a message from your sharpie. Hang it on a string or let the branch hang it for you! Enjoy the views! It's quite secluded but a nice getaway. Go an hour and a half before sunset. It's a 5 mile trek round-trip. When we went it was right at near sunset and getting dark. We cut through the Regatta beach club and walked the sidewalk down to our parking spot. The artsy shells on the tree are a treat to see and some are blank. No matter what just admire the one of a kind trees created by others in nature.

The City of Largo truly deserves a five-star review this place has such a welcoming, laid-back…read moreFlorida vibe that makes it easy to enjoy whether you're just visiting or spending real time here. What stood out to me right away is how clean, well-kept, and community-focused everything feels. It's the kind of place where you can tell people take pride in where they live. The local food scene is a big win. You've got reliable favorites like Starbucks for a quick coffee run, but also plenty of great local spots and casual restaurants nearby where you can grab anything from seafood to burgers. Everything feels accessible, and there's always something close by no matter what you're in the mood for. We really enjoy the WingHouse and Finleys Irish pub. Where Largo really shines, though, is its parks and outdoor spaces. Largo Central Park is an absolute highlight beautifully maintained with walking paths, open green space, and a peaceful atmosphere that's perfect for a morning stroll or letting the kids run around. The Largo Central Park Nature Preserve is another gem, offering a quieter, more natural setting with trails and wildlife that make you feel like you've escaped the city for a bit. They have a local mural too. The attractions and nearby spots just add to the experience. You're not far from some of the best beaches in Florida, and there are plenty of places to explore, relax, and take in the scenery. Whether it's a family day out, a quick stop for food and coffee, or just enjoying the outdoors, Largo delivers across the board. Overall, the City of Largo feels safe, friendly, and full of little things that make a big differencefrom the parks to the people to the places to eat. It's the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you'll come back. We enjoy coming here year after year

There is not much here in the way of culture, but the local stores are well stocked and have friendly and knowledgeable employees. Overshadowed by Clearwater & St Petersburg, Largo is a great gateway to both cities.

Ughhhhhh. I had such high hopes!!!! The parking is not handicap or challenged children friendly…read more You park a mile away. By the time your handicapped person gets to the correct door...he's done. Finds a seat and sits while you try to get some Christmas spirit while your lived one is miserable. There are other places closer to park but they are wrapped off to accommodate the late arrivers. Real nice. Signs everywhere...No parkong...space for the wellness center on aging....ironic isn't it? Florida is full of old people and ya know, it's hard enough to get them out of the house to do something with you because as a partner to a handicap spouse, you still deserve to have fun. So as we are walking in, my husband is almost run down by a bunch of singing elves. So I voice my unhappiness with the grand pumba who is collecting the CASH. He could care less. He is collecting money in a big roll he puts in his pocket. Another red flag. There is no accountability. He just keeps pocketing the donations. There is no counter and no tickets and no receipts. How do they know how many peoe were there? How do they reconcile the money they received with the headcount accurately? They can over or understate the crowds to the charity and/or public/news outlets. Zero checks and balances. Not even a camera angled at him that I could see!!!!!! I guess I would be carefree and not care what problems are evident. He does not want to do better. Hummmmm. Also, had to tell a volunteer about people sneaking in the back door!!!! They either wanted a freebee or they got tired of walking from Timbuktu to the remote entrance!!!!! So we are on our way to the next Festival.of the trees. Hopefully it won't be armature hour revisited.

So you're getting in the Christmas spirit AND supporting a good cause? Sounds like a win-win to me. At the door, they collect a $5 donation for adults, children are free. Definitely worth it if you ask me. There is a beautiful variety of uniquely decorated Christmas trees to admire (and purchase, if your heart desires). They also have some great local vendors selling everything from handmade Christmas ornaments to candles and pet treats. There is also a chance for kids to see Santa, get their faces painted and see some live entertainment on stage. My mom and I went yesterday and had a great time. I may even go back again before the season is over.
