I could see if there was an interior to the cafe, and it didn't look like there were any tables set-up. The cafe did seem very small from the street and that's probably why. I ordered a small cafe Americano right there at the makeshift counter and the awesome employee prepared it right there on the spot. The coffee was decent, and I'm sure the rest of the food offerings are pretty good as well.

He has so many options, I wasn't sure however I knew that I wanted to get a latte. Upon the Owner'suggestion I ordered the flat white latte with a double shot of espresso and a little bit of milk added. What is so cool is that there are a myriad of photographs of chefs from around the world who came to visit this cafe. The latte is delicious but I'm not sure how the double espresso shot will affect me. I'm not really a daily coffee drinker even less an espresso drinker. I had a simple iced latte given that it was a warm morning and enjoyed it in the outdoor space in the back. It was standard enough taste-wise and carefully delivered to me at my seat. Fun and quirky seating in the form of colorful wicker-like chairs in the outdoor area. Bathroom was super awesome and had this interesting toilet with a waved seat. No people watching opportunities in the outdoor area but I appreciated the quiet and calm of the cafe.

Small cafe with cool modern ambiance with plenty of seating, right across from the famed Lalo! Restaurant. Barista was lovely and bilingual. Sounds like they mainly do medium roast pour over with several options. Although I was hoping for light roast ("tueste ligero") she gave me a small sample of their pour over from their carafe before I committed it. We also chose the cold brew nitro (as it was recommended by Reddit users). The pour over was well balanced, with some chocolate undertones. It was smooth with nicely aromatic. Neither super fruity, bright nor bitter. The delightful barista offered me another small sample when she brewed a second pour over for a different customer using Chemex, which rendered the same coffee lighter and a tinge more acidic, and slightly fruitier. Pretty cool! I will have to try their latte or espresso next time I'm in the neighborhood but with this saturated coffee market in CDMX, time is of essence to check out other places. Highly recommend getting breakfast at Lalo and saunter over to Almanegra for post prandial coffee! And bring a book, letting time pass you by.

We came around 11am and luckily were able to get a table quickly but by the time we left at noon there was already a decent line. The staff starts you at a table on the inside of the terrace but will move you to a bar seat facing the street and palace once others leave. It's definitely a great way to see the famous building and a nice way to take a break.
