A no great shakes utility cafe in Alto Palermo.
It draws a crowd at night to watch the football games.
The menu is standard. The cooking is adequate.
The price is on the cheap side which suits me fine.

Just a note for Americans trying the Argentine specialties.
I had an omelet, toast, coffee and orange juice all of which were fine.
I also had an Argentine specialty, a medialuna with ham and cheese.
Watch that one - the medialuna with ham and cheese.
Tolon's execution of the dish is fine.
But what you are ordering is the
GODAWFUL croissant you get served for breakfast on international flights.
You know, that croissant with something in it that comes in a plastic bag and sits in your stomach like a lump?
If you are not on an airline, you get a croissant that was freshly made that day,
And nicer ham and nicer cheese.
It does not help the dish one bit.
It is still an unappealing mess.
At least, because it is a fresh good croissant, it does not sit in your stomach like a lump.

Tolon's preparation of everything was fine including the medialuna.
You can eat here and do okay.
BUT RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET IS THE DANDY.
They have virtually the same menu in a much nicer room
And really really really good preparation.
The Dandy is where we eat when we are not on a special expedition to try something new or write a Yelp review.
Turn down the Dandy to eat at Tolon?
