Had a hibachi itch I needed to scratch. Was in the area and hadn't been here in a while so it was the perfect scenario. Ordered online and everything was ready in less than 15 minutes. I went with the hibachi steak and chicken. Prices are very reasonable. Was around $12 for this entree. Huge portions! Comes with fried rice and veggies, BUT you can substitute the vegetables for noodles for $0.99. I highly recommend doing this! Also added an egg roll. If you're in the area, this is an excellent option and well worth a visit. read more

This place came highly recommended by my sister, so I decided to try it. The food was simply delicious! There was so much, I had to split it into two meals. The service was swift and professional (we ordered takeout) and the restaurant itself was decorated with really cool signs. I had to take a few pics of my faves. I'd definitely eat here again! read more

Being seeing good reviews about this place on social media and wanted to try it out, and I am well pleased. The food is delicious. Was prepared quickly and cooked to perfection and tasted great. Of course I got the White Sauce which made it even better. Definitely going back for more. Great, friendly service. read more

Tokyo Grill - Steak, chicken, and shrimp Hibachi. - Japanese Near Me - Greensboro, North Carolina

Quick, no frills hibachi. We tried the steak and shrimp hibachi and the chicken teriyaki. Both came out hot, fast, and generously portioned. Chicken was tender and the sauce was great - nothing fancy but exactly what you want from quick hibachi. The steak was a little dry but well seasoned. The service was quick despite being busy. Very much an order and go vibe but still friendly. Ambiance is casual and low key. This is the second time I've tried this place and both experiences were consistent. I'll definitely be back! read more

One of my favorite spots for Japanese in Greensboro! Every time I go the food is great. I am someone who is picky about meats and their chicken and shrimp is always cooked well and tastes great. I think the dishes have a nice seasoning to them and are good on their own or with some sauce. The orders are usually ready quickly and I think the prices are fair. You get a pretty good amount of food in each serving. read more

The service is quick and friendly. I ordered shrimp hibachi, egg roll and a salad. My daughter got spicy wings. She said the spicy wings were good, but not spicy. I loved my meal. I probably could have eaten my weight in those egg rolls. Their spicy sauce could be sold in a bottle. It was very good to me. I will definitely return. They had a lot of seats for a traditional take out spot. read more

love Tokyo grill so much. very affordable and always fresh. also very polite employees

I usually say way too much in my reviews, but the beauty of this place is that they keep it simple, affordable, fast, and flavorful. So maybe I should do the same with this review? Tokyo Grill is your standard call-in and take-out kind of hibachi place with a small dining room if you do decide to order and eat in, which is what I did on this particular occasion. I ordered the shrimp and chicken plate, and it was ready in under 10 minutes. The price was affordable and always has been, you'll get a satisfying meal for your buck. The have all manner of sauces available, the hot mustard being my personal favorite mixed with a little of the white sauce. On this visit, the chicken and shrimp were maybe a tad over-done, but not dry. The rice, to be honest, it has never been my favorite, but you can help that a lot by mixing in some spice or mustard, it's fairly plain otherwise. The portion is definitely going to get you full, so don't worry about that. There you go, a good neighborhood place to get your hibachi! read more

First time visit making me wish I lived closer! My husband and I both ordered the hibachi steak without carrots and were very pleased with our meal. The steak was tender and plentiful, the veggies but especially the onions were perfectly cooked, and the rice was tasty! For sauces, I opted for the white sauce which was perfect. My husband got the ginger and the hot sauce--you could see pieces of pepper flakes in the hot sauce. Service was good! We would be regulars if we lived closer. read more

This has been one of my favorite places for quick Japanese food since 2010. I usually go to the one on west market but this particular day i was on lawndale and my son was hungry. We ordered inside and with maybe 10 orders ahead of us we didn't wait more than 10 minutes. The restaurant was clean, service was quick and my son was one happy camper. read more

This was one of the first spots my husband and I ate at when we moved here 11 years ago. The portions are large and the price is great. It's not the fanciest place, but the service is very good. We will continue to eat here! read more

This place used to be so, so good for "fast" Japanese. Well, they fell off... and fell hard. I ordered the hibachi steak. It was a nice portion, but I couldn't even get 1/4 of the way through before I just quit eating it because it's not good. I ate reheated chicken noodle soup instead... that pretty much explains it. But to be clear & paint a picture: Thin overcooked & chewy steak. Clumpy rice. Thin watery ginger sauce. Decent veggies.... Prompt service. read more

I've been a long time fan of Tokyo grill but hasn't visited in a while, which I've learned is a mistake. I ordered my food for pick up over the phone and the gentleman taking order was kind and patient. I waited about 15 minutes before heading in and when I got there my food was ready to go! I ordered the hibachi steak and chicken add noodles with a spring roll and egg roll. And of course white sauce! For a "fast food" hibachi meal, this was delicious and filling! The white sauce was a little watery but overall the flavor was there and I enjoyed my meal. read more

Stopped in tonight for take out dinner and something different. They did not disappoint. Two chicken hibachi meals for under $20 and I'll have half for lunch tomorrow. Food is always great and service is fast and reliable. Takeout is fast and the price for quantity is amazing.

Have seen this place many times and have never stopped in. They have a simple menu and I ordered a spring roll and the hibachi steak & shrimp. Comes with 3 white sauces per plate, which is great. The spring roll was nice and crispy, good flavor. The hibachi steak and shrimp had great flavor, every part of the plate was seasoned; steak, shrimp, vegetable and rice were all seasoned. They have smaller portions than other hibachi places but the was good. I would stop in again if I find myself on this side of town looking for a good meal. read more

I do not like to write negative reviews but last night I quite possibly had the WORST meal of my life here. My friend ordered filet mignon for me and filet and shrimp for him. Both of our filets didn't even look like filet. It was so tough and overcooked WELL over well done (I ordered medium, he ordered medium rare) I could not eat it all because I could not chew even a tiny portion of the meat without feeling like I was going to choke! I cannot believe this place gets by with cooking meat like this. Their vegetables and rice were very very bland. Their mustard sauce was thin and very sour tasting. This was my first (and last) time eating from this establishment. This was the worst hibachi take out I've had from any Asian place in all of Greensboro. If you read this review and still choose to go there....just know, you have been warned! read more

Called it in, 15 mins later picked it up. No waiting on the food once I got there. They give a lot of white sauce which is nice and the portions are large. Currently it is take out only due to covid. read more

We have been getting take-out Japanese food from Tokyo Grill for years. I even have their number saved in my phone. The food is always tasty and the portion plentiful. I have ordered every combination of meats they have and all are cooked well. This time I got steak and chicken. Their rice is always the right texture and I feel they give you the best variety of vegetables. You also can substitute the rice for double vegetables for an extra charge which is cool for healthier option. I love sauces so I usually get their ginger, white, hot, and hot mustard. Their hot mustard is my favorite. Sadly this time (and the last time) I ordered take out here they gave me just hot sauce instead of hot mustard. Disappointing as I love it so, but honestly their food is good even without sauce (but sauces makes everything better!). If you want good Japanese, but don't need the bells and whistles of the full restaurant and show, go to Tokyo Grill. read more

Normally a good place to eat but after 7 hours at the hospital I placed an order to go. I drove home (40 minute), and realized the sauces was wrong. I wanted one mustard sauce and 3 ginger sauce. I got one mustard and four white sauces. The food was very bland without the desired order. Very disappointing read more

TL;DR great food for the money if you can stand up to the hostile service. I used to love eating here. At least once a week. For the money the food was good. You get your moneys worth. And being able to see them making the food is a nice touch. Can get around the sticky tables. But I normally get take out anyways. Let's get to the hard part; you have to stand up to the horrible mumblers taking the orders and handing them out. You know, the kind of service where you've already inconvenienced them by even calling to place an order? Believe it or not, they don't even want your tips. They fought over not wanting the tips in the tip jar, while saying they make more doing their other job. While waiting for my food, I watched them treat smiling customers with disgust, no "thank yous" or "have a nice day" read more

This tiny, unpretentious place puts out some great tasting hibachi dinners, well sized, and very reasonably priced. This is primarily a takeout place, though they have 8 or 10 serviceable tables for dining in. The menu is rather compact - composed mainly of various hibachi choices - steak, chicken, shrimp, and combinations thereof - with veggies and rice. The offer Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, and Chicken Wings, a few bowl choices for kids, and related sides - more veggies, more rice, more meat, etc. The hibachi dinners here are very, very tasty - the rice, the veggies, the whole works has flavor not matched by many in the area, no matter what you're paying for it. The veggies and rice are so flavorful here I'll order an extra side of each. The Egg Rolls were nice as well - large and with a nice amount of shrimp. The Shrimp I tried were outstanding - fresh tasting, really nice - so often with hibnachi the shrimp comes out tough, and rarely tastes really fresh - try them here. I actually had the Steak & Shrimp ($7.50), and the steak was ok, but somewhat overcooked. I'll stick with the shrimp next time, or maybe combo with chicken. The serving size was more than ample on the dinner. For a quick hibachi fix, or meal at the desk, or a grab and run for dinner, this is a great place to try. The value here is excellent, as is the quality, and the service is nice as well. We'll be back. read more

My 1st and last time to this place. The staff were nice and friendly but the food was horrible. Everything was overcooked and under seasoned. It tasted like my college friends tried grilling for the 1st time on their new grill. Very disappointing. read more

Tokyo Grill is the best place for fast hibachi. The food is always great and their service is always quick.

What a pleasant surprise. Other than forgetting a salad we ordered, the food was fast, fresh and perfectly cooked. Not greasy and full of flavor. Going to see if I can do a double order of vegetables in place of the rice. My son enjoyed the children's portion of steak which forgoes vegetables. My wife had the steak and shrimp and me, the shrimp and scallops. All in all we are fans. read more

It's fast Japanese Hibachi. It is served on loads of rice, very few vegetables and the blandest hibachi steak I ever tasted. I was not impressed. But at lunch time, the place was packed and the cooking efficient. I won't go out of my way to return. Pretty average to below average. read more

Take out service was fast, food was over cooked...veggies were cut very thin and cooked to the point of shriveled and some burnt. Some rice was seasoned some had nothing on it. Chicken portion was seasoned well but still overcooked/dry. We did eat it, but won't be returning anytime soon better choices for our money on takeout. read more

This is the best hibachi I've had in a while! While in town visiting for work, I was CRAVING hibachi and I'm so glad that I picked this spot. They are located in a strip mall that is easy to find. Be aware of your surroundings, as on the 2 occasions I have visited, there have been some aggressive pan handlers. The inside is a small building with a long line and limited seating. You will see the various staff members moving quickly so the wait isn't long. Both visits I ordered the same thing: #11 (Shrimp and Scallops) with no rice and extra vegetables. The cost is near $12, which appears to be the standard dinner cost in town. The food was DELICIOUS. The seasonings were perfect, it wasn't overly sauced, the veggies were the perfect size, and the seafood was fresh. I will definitely be returning the next time I visit. read more

Ordered the Hibachi Chicken with Zucchini and extra rice. Didn't get the extra rice. Rice is pretty cheap, and the standard portion they offer is relatively small. So I was surprised they neglected to give it to me, as he repeated my order correctly. The chicken is diced into bits and on the dry side. Zucchini is also diced into bits. The rice has good flavor. If you were to re-assemble the chicken breast and zucchini squash they used, you'd see they're either a small or halved chicken breast/squash. I wouldn't recommend spending 6.50 on it. There are better take-out Hibachi restaurants in Greensboro. But this place is in no way "bad". I'd say it's very average. read more

I've been going to Tokyo Grill for about 7 years. This is a great spot for takeout or a casual dine-in. Delicious and always quick.

Excellent food and service. Utilize this restaurant numerous times and the teriyaki chicken and shrimp over rice is always delicious!

Great food! Tried the chicken teriyaki today for a change and was very happy with my pick. The taste is slightly sweet due to the teriyaki sauce (which I like), fresh veggies and white sauce for the win. Stop by for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review of this place until now. I've been too many times to count and always leave full and happy. They cook their proteins and veggies so they are caramelized and delicious. Brown food tastes good! The rice is always great as well and the mustard sauce has quite a kick, which I love. Tokyo Grill is close to our neighborhood so we patronize them frequently - sometimes as much as once a week. If you are looking for delish Japanese/hibachi style food for CHEAP come here. You'll have plenty of options to choose from with chicken, shrimp, pork and veggie items with either white or brown rice. They also carry smaller choices such as chicken wings. I'm a big fan of the chicken selection with mixed vegetables. My girlfriend goes with an all-onion option. There are probably 10 or so tables available but we almost call ahead and get ours to go as we head home from work. Warning: they get their food done very fast so get moving! The other great thing about this place is the friendly service. After just a few visits, they knew our name and called us by it as we entered. Very cool. If you are in the Lawndale/Cone area be sure to give these guys a try. Food: 8/10, Service 10/10, Value 9/10 read more
