One of my favorite spots for Japanese in Greensboro! Every time I go the food is great. I am someone who is picky about meats and their chicken and shrimp is always cooked well and tastes great. Tokyo Grill is your standard call-in and take-out kind of hibachi place with a small dining room if you do decide to order and eat in, which is what I did on this particular occasion. I ordered the shrimp and chicken plate, and it was ready in under 10 minutes. The price was affordable and always has been, you'll get a satisfying meal for your buck. The have all manner of sauces available, the hot mustard being my personal favorite mixed with a little of the white sauce. On this visit, the chicken and shrimp were maybe a tad over-done, but not dry. The rice, to be honest, it has never been my favorite, but you can help that a lot by mixing in some spice or mustard, it's fairly plain otherwise. First time visit making me wish I lived closer! My husband and I both ordered the hibachi steak without carrots and were very pleased with our meal. The steak was tender and plentiful, the veggies but especially the onions were perfectly cooked, and the rice was tasty! For sauces, I opted for the white sauce which was perfect. I ordered my food for pick up over the phone and the gentleman taking order was kind and patient. I waited about 15 minutes before heading in and when I got there my food was ready to go! Have seen this place many times and have never stopped in. They have a simple menu and I ordered a spring roll and the hibachi steak & shrimp. Comes with 3 white sauces per plate, which is great. The spring roll was nice and crispy, good flavor. The hibachi steak and shrimp had great flavor, every part of the plate was seasoned; steak, shrimp, vegetable and rice were all seasoned. I do not like to write negative reviews but last night I quite possibly had the WORST meal of my life here. My friend ordered filet mignon for me and filet and shrimp for him. Both of our filets didn't even look like filet. It was so tough and overcooked WELL over well done (I ordered medium, he ordered medium rare) I could not eat it all because I could not chew even a tiny portion of the meat without feeling like I was going to choke! I cannot believe this place gets by with cooking meat like this. Their vegetables and rice were very very bland. Their mustard sauce was thin and very sour tasting. This was my first (and last) time eating from this establishment. This was the worst hibachi take out I've had from any Asian place in all of Greensboro. We have been getting take-out Japanese food from Tokyo Grill for years. I even have their number saved in my phone. The food is always tasty and the portion plentiful. I have ordered every combination of meats they have and all are cooked well. This time I got steak and chicken. Their rice is always the right texture and I feel they give you the best variety of vegetables. You also can substitute the rice for double vegetables for an extra charge which is cool for healthier option. I love sauces so I usually get their ginger, white, hot, and hot mustard. Their hot mustard is my favorite. Sadly this time (and the last time) I ordered take out here they gave me just hot sauce instead of hot mustard. Disappointing as I love it so, but honestly their food is good even without sauce (but sauces makes everything better!). This tiny, unpretentious place puts out some great tasting hibachi dinners, well sized, and very reasonably priced. This is primarily a takeout place, though they have 8 or 10 serviceable tables for dining in. The menu is rather compact - composed mainly of various hibachi choices - steak, chicken, shrimp, and combinations thereof - with veggies and rice. The offer Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, and Chicken Wings, a few bowl choices for kids, and related sides - more veggies, more rice, more meat, etc. The hibachi dinners here are very, very tasty - the rice, the veggies, the whole works has flavor not matched by many in the area, no matter what you're paying for it. The veggies and rice are so flavorful here I'll order an extra side of each. The Egg Rolls were nice as well - large and with a nice amount of shrimp. The Shrimp I tried were outstanding - fresh tasting, really nice - so often with hibnachi the shrimp comes out tough, and rarely tastes really fresh - try them here. I actually had the Steak & Shrimp ($7.50), and the steak was ok, but somewhat overcooked. I'll stick with the shrimp next time, or maybe combo with chicken. The serving size was more than ample on the dinner. For a quick hibachi fix, or meal at the desk, or a grab and run for dinner, this is a great place to try. What a pleasant surprise. Other than forgetting a salad we ordered, the food was fast, fresh and perfectly cooked. Not greasy and full of flavor. Going to see if I can do a double order of vegetables in place of the rice. My son enjoyed the children's portion of steak which forgoes vegetables. Take out service was fast, food was over cooked...veggies were cut very thin and cooked to the point of shriveled and some burnt. Some rice was seasoned some had nothing on it. Chicken portion was seasoned well but still overcooked/dry. We did eat it, but won't be returning anytime soon better choices for our money on takeout. read more

This is the best hibachi I've had in a while! While in town visiting for work, I was CRAVING hibachi and I'm so glad that I picked this spot. They are located in a strip mall that is easy to find. Be aware of your surroundings, as on the 2 occasions I have visited, there have been some aggressive pan handlers. The inside is a small building with a long line and limited seating. You will see the various staff members moving quickly so the wait isn't long. Both visits I ordered the same thing: #11 (Shrimp and Scallops) with no rice and extra vegetables. The cost is near $12, which appears to be the standard dinner cost in town. The food was DELICIOUS. The seasonings were perfect, it wasn't overly sauced, the veggies were the perfect size, and the seafood was fresh. I will definitely be returning the next time I visit. read more

Ordered the Hibachi Chicken with Zucchini and extra rice. Didn't get the extra rice. Rice is pretty cheap, and the standard portion they offer is relatively small. So I was surprised they neglected to give it to me, as he repeated my order correctly. The chicken is diced into bits and on the dry side. Zucchini is also diced into bits. The rice has good flavor. If you were to re-assemble the chicken breast and zucchini squash they used, you'd see they're either a small or halved chicken breast/squash. I wouldn't recommend spending 6.50 on it. There are better take-out Hibachi restaurants in Greensboro. But this place is in no way "bad". I'd say it's very average. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review of this place until now. I've been too many times to count and always leave full and happy. They cook their proteins and veggies so they are caramelized and delicious. Brown food tastes good! The rice is always great as well and the mustard sauce has quite a kick, which I love. You'll have plenty of options to choose from with chicken, shrimp, pork and veggie items with either white or brown rice. They also carry smaller choices such as chicken wings. I'm a big fan of the chicken selection with mixed vegetables. My girlfriend goes with an all-onion option. There are probably 10 or so tables available but we almost call ahead and get ours to go as we head home from work. Warning: they get their food done very fast so get moving!
