I'm super torn about my experience(s) here.. I've been going to Tokyo foot spa for 5ish years on/off. They price point is probably the best in the area. I used to only go to an older Asian man they called Kevin however he hasn't been there in about a year. Everytime I ask for him they said he was on vacation visiting family out of the country but I am not sure I believe that. The environment is not private and this does mean you can experience snoring from others or the employees making quite a bit of noise either in the back room or while just attending to others. Not necessarily sure they understand medium vs deep pressure but I've shown up with a pretty bad multi day headache and they spent extra time on my neck and shoulder using the minty massage oil which I liked. To be fair, I've had great and okay experiences here. My last experience was very noisy and I left feeling it was not worth it however I will likely go again in hopes of better experience. read more

Overall great experience. The receptionist is super friendly. My husband and I definitely had a good massage from our feet to our necks. We both agreed the pressure is very hard though and they didn't really ask any questions or anything just jumped in a started massaging. So communication isn't the highest but the quality is there. I went here for many years, it used to be great. Now not so much, they raised their prices again and don't honor gift certificates at price they were purchased. Place is dirty inside and towels that they throw over your face smell. The people that massage your feet are not as good and they ask you to pay BEFORE you go in......unacceptable. Let me be clear, the one star is for the way I was treated today by the cashier. The therapists were actually great. I had the most horrific experience with the man behind the counter, that I literally wondered how this place was still open. My friend and I showed up for our 1pm appt, and I showed the man, Jay Xie, my $200 gift certificate on my phone. He said, "I don't know how to do this, you pay today." I informed him that he ought to call someone to figure it out because I was going to use the gift card. He literally said, "you can leave!" I did not, and told him he had an hour to figure it out while we got our massages. Another couple came in and asked to use their father's day voucher they had just purchased. Because the prices had gone up, they would not honor their voucher. Another argument ensued. After our massages, we came out and I was told he took it off the gift card and that I had a "few dollars left". I said there was $200, and the massages were only $90, so should have $110 left. He said I don't know, I don't know what to tell you. I said you can tell me what the balance is on my card. He said," I can't I'm very busy". (He wasn't) I asked him for the manager's name, and he said he didn't know. I said you literally work here and you don't know who your boss is? He refused to give me a name. I have no idea if he has used the entirety of my gift card. But to be honest if I had to deal with that again I don't think I'd want to go back anyway. Beware! Their customer service was horrific. I surprised my Boyfriend for his bday this Labor Day- thank you for being open even though it was a holiday to honor Labor. It was an overdue surprised and much needed. I decided to get one done with him and requested if we can lay next to each other knowing that their beds cater to one person at a time- they made it happen :) We walked in and Michelle greeted us in with a Happy Bday which was so sweet and thoughtful- she set the tone. We both had been here before separately - always a good experience but I have to admit they are hard on the body. I requested "soft" due to my sensitivity to my body and still at times was to hard. He left feeling great- I left feeling good and worked on. We felt relaxed and they arranged the room which looks nice. I think they should give each guest a card to fill out to pick the tensity of the massage and if there any problem areas before they start so the masseuse knows before he gets started, since it is quiet in the room- not much room to actually speak with the masseuse. We did the foot reflexology for 60 minutes. This was the second time I visited and I would say that my visit two years ago (on my last vacation) might have been a little better, it felt like the same two techniques for the entire time. Also, there was some talking in the back room that was loud enough to distract me throughout the massage. You will be in a large open room - so if privacy is importantly to you, they may have closed rooms? My husband did a back and body massage and it was in the big open room. The prices are really affordable- $38 for the 60 minutes foot and neck, so think of it like a fast food joint ... for feet. My mom received a gift card there. I went with her once. I thought the massage was extremely disappointing. I've had hundreds Chinese massages all around the world from LA to Amsterdam to Singapore and this was amongst the worst. She went to redeem the balance her gift card 3 months after expiration and they wouldn't honor it. As a small independent business you most certainly should. If you buy on Groupon the paid value never expires. This business lost many customers that day. Her friends will no longer return as well. read more

Really rude service to be honest. And when i was about to leave the person checking me out said 20% tip required. Really? It is required if the service wasn't good? I just paid it to get out of there but a business shouldn't require a patron to give a certain tip and make you feel bad and have you charge on card. A Diamond in the rough, amazing place! You'd never guess from the nondescript exterior that this is a haven of relaxation. From the moment you enter voices are hushed; go into the huge main treatment room and you'll see rows of people totally zoned out in couch-like chairs in silence except for calming music, with light projections floating on the ceiling. My husband got the 60 min full body massage in a private area within the larger room, while I got the 60 min foot treatment. He was completely thrilled w his massage, especially as it included focus on usually ignored areas like the head and even stomach. The foot treatment includes much more than feet-- starts w shiatsu on the shoulders, neck, hands and arms before progressing to focus on the below the knee area. I can't say enough how amazing it was -- especially for someone who does a lot of leg based exercise and gets calf cramps a ton. The foot reflexology was incredible but so was all the focus on calves, shins, ankles too. All performed while lying on this comfy chair covered by a towel, with eye mask, and phone far away! Truly unplugged. Needless to say between the quality of the massage and the price Tokyo Foot Spa really can't be beat -- our favorite massage place in the area by far and we can't wait to return. Great place and so unique! What a treat to try with visitors from out of town or just a quick way to relax! Have a foot massage and finish with a fully clothed back massage. That's right- fully clothed. And be prepared as you enter a big room with several stations on each side to be escorted to one of the empty stations. The lighting is soft and not too dark. Folks are so friendly. If you're looking for a private place of relaxation - this is not for you. As I stated, there is only one room and stations on either sides of the walls. Had a 4 pm appointment for a 60 min option A. They took me (and wife) at 4:15. Only gave a 45 min massage. Called them out on it when it was time to pay: 1. First response was the person before me was late -- not my problem. 2. Second response was they made no money on option A -- once again not my problem. 3. They offered me $3 off. I can't recommend doing business with people who are rude and unethical. If you must go and they take you late... before you go for your massage verbally confirm what time it is to the person taking you back so there are no discrepancies in how long your massage is supposed to be. I can't honestly gauge the service because I left before it started. I was not informed prior to walking in, that there would be an open room with about 25 chairs and a party light. My friend and I had requested a room Together. They said no problem. I didn't realize it was one large jammmed with odd chairs room. Upon seeing the the debacle, we asked to be side by side. They said no and put us on complete opposite sides. I was seated next to a topless male and he was sat next to a woman. We could not even see each other from our respective spots. It appeared to have one masseuse serving the entire room. Before even sitting down, we walked out saving ourself from the protection viruses, cleanliness issues and sub par experience. Terrible experience today at this establishment. They were very busy granted, but a massage is supposed to be relaxing, correct? Well this was the complete opposite. Staff was talking throughout my hour massage which was so distracting. They even moved furniture to make more room for more clients. There was so much noise. My friends massage person wore gloves and used no creams. Huh? We should have left from the start. I spoke to the supposedly manager/owner with my complaints but he was nothing but rude. One of the worst massage experiences I've ever had. It was not relaxing but more like reflexology with the masseur poking all over me. I literally had bruises from the man's fingers digging into my back after I asked for less pressure and was saying, "ouch!" The staff were very professional and polite which is why I gave 2 stars. I absolutely love going and getting pampered with a good foot massage. It is clean and the employees are very professional. I do wish, however, that they would better enforce the no cell phone request that is on the door as you go in. Today a gentleman received a phone call and took that call. He proceeded to be on the phone talking for a solid 3-4 minutes. I understand that often there are important calls to take but a considerate person would time their appointment around that call. My husband and I have been going here several times a month for over 6 years. That will not be the case anymore. New owners are horrible. We gave it 3 tries and each time it's worse. Today the guy didn't even do my glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps, and calves. My husband kept telling his guy that he was hurting him. Then he would hurt him more. Very rough. We took my in-laws. We paid almost $200 in cash for the 4 of us. After I complained, I still gave a tip. The receptionist actually looked at the tip and said it should be at least 20%. I told her I used to tip 30% and reminded her we were not happy. We still gave 15%. Extremely rude of her! We gave them 3 tries with the new owners. No more. read more

I went with a friend for the combo. My friend had a great experience but I had a guy who used light pressure even though he was told medium. The reflexology part ( majority of service) felt like someone was just rubbing in oil. I did t want to disturb anyone around me as the place is close quarters with not much space between people. Finally, when he asked me to turn for the body massage, I asked quietly for more pressure. That part was better. When I mentioned it to the front desk upon leaving, he just said "ok"'and still expected $10 tip. I paid it but I wish they would take feedback and try to improve. read more

Today we booked appointment for Kevin and Yo-Yo at a specific time and when we arrived they said neither were available. Owner was rude and offered no solution. When spending money for a service it is not unreasonable to ask for the same person who has performed services for you 15 times. Hence why we booked appointment for specific people. Extremely rude service!!! I asked for medium to light NOT too light to too hard, but never received medium pressure and very UNRELAXING!!!! Just stressfull super QUICK STROKES! However I had a female who was so fast and so light, I could hardly feel any thing then when i said medium, she was going so FAST, that it was like she started this session wanting to get it over as soon as possible, so I was finished! I asked for a different (man) he started with very fast strokes, super light, like this was some kind of joke, and it was like he was purposely bad, going soooooo fast and light, again then super hard and painful, so I just got up and said I am finished! When I told the receptionist she was soooooooo angry, telling me that every one is professional, and now she is full and has no one else, Not many people were even there, She was sooo nasty, Instead of listening and giving me one good person, and keeping the customer......I was the customer! She could have gained me, and the many I would have referred to them.... now not only has she lost a client but all my friends and family that I would take and refer!
