Given covid restrictions, room doors are all open for health and safety and you can hear front area talk, but it was minimal. The language capability with staff is very limited, so don't expect long conversation. But, if you come for a relaxing & therapeutic treatment, this will certainly satisfy. Staff was very polite. Started off with a nice foot soak in hot tub temperature water. The massage was a nice combination of Asian pressure point, foot and leg massage. Was very similar to what i experienced in Beijing. Nothing fancy here, just a great treatment at a good price! I would come back.

One the man was hurting my feet so bad by pushing so hard but not in the right spots. Didn't feel well trained. I kept saying ow and pulling my feet back and he'd smile and nod but then do it again. The next two times I had two different women but they both spent most of the time rubbing my shins (not even my calves). One lady only rubbed the top of my feet, and I wondered if it was some sort of ancient Asian foot technique but no. I stood up and my feet were not happy. Very hit and miss.

Within minutes she works out the kinks and knots in my neck/shoulder and you can hear that crunchimg sound of the tight fascia tissue being released. Perhaps not the right terms but let me tell you, it sounds and feels so satisfying! I feel relaxed and a bit tender next day which is a sign of a good massage. The environment is peaceful and clean too. There is paid street parking in the front. I've tried many RMTs in the past and although this is not a RMT massage, Nancy has made me feel better than them because of how she can target those knots in my shoulder. Since I work during the day, I prefer an evening time which can be difficult unless you book a week in advance. I look forward to coming back!

They have more of an assortment of snacks versus the Natures granola bars now. There's a bit of a sell of products at the end of the facial but not too pushy... no samples to offer which is tough to sell with pricy medical grade products. Thuy the RMT is amazing at addressing any concerns and offers stretches to help with issues after. Tried out the new location in Langley. Spa is beautiful. Super bright and airy and big too. Booked RMT- unable to book online but was able to book via email with response promptly. RMT is only through one therapist which is only on Tuesdays... bummer, I hope there will be more options later since places like Spautopia has many RMTs so it's easy to have a spa date. This isn't the case with this particular location, as all that separates you between the rest of the mall is a relatively small screen.. That being said, don't let that put you off since you are left clothed (they still cover you up with a sheet). Furthermore, you can't see anyone else as you are lying face down on the massage table. Receiving a massage here is pretty fantastic. I've been to other massage clinics, and they don't do nearly as good a job as here. Having been here on several occasions over the years, I can safely say that they perform top notch massages. There has been many an occasion where I've come in with severe knots in my neck/shoulders from work or hockey, and each time I've felt relief after undergoing one of their shiatsu sessions. During each session (and you wouldn't think this to be the case) I tend to fall asleep, but there have also been moments of wincing pain where muscles have been really tight (but a good sort of pain, if that makes sense). Typically after a 40 minute session I am groggy and well relaxed. It just feels great. I brought my mother here who suffers from an extremely tense neck and shoulder muscles as a result of work-related injuries due to repetitive motions (she was skeptical about this place) and she is now hooked because they were able to really work out some of the tension in her muscles. Another plus is that the therapists really put effort into their craft and always act professionally. You can go at any time during the day and receive a massage and be well assured that it would be just as good if you were the first customer, or the last customer. This is quite a contrast to some other places I've been in terms of a consistently good massage. The only downside to Japan Shiatsu Clinic is that many medical plans do not seem to cover this type of massage. However, for my money, this place and the therapists that work here are top notch.
