We were hitting up a bunch of shows and rather than pay venue beverage prices we planned to enjoy a beverage at our hotel before strolling to a show. This liquor store is across from Kroger's and the parking lot is a triangle. The first time we were not sure where the entrance was located because of the odd shaped triangle lot. Seriously this is before we drank wine. They had a nice selection of wine and really good sale prices. We picked out a few wineries that I had never heard of like Portlandia and one other New Zealand wine that was on clearance. When we visited again in 2023 we noticed they had an extended selection of bourbon's including several Japanese brands behind the counter. As with the bourbon market these days the availability seems to be the favorable feature not competitive pricing. The staff is very friendly and they make really good use of the available shelf space considering it is not a big store. I would much rather shop Toddy's instead of a big box store because they have comparable if not better prices, good selection and the people we spoke to were very knowledgeable about their products.

Recently a guest from Franklin, TN surprised us with a bottle of Luli Chardonnay from the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey, CA. And Wow! What a treat it was. In fact so good, that it is now #1 on our Chardonnay list. So now comes the hard part: trying to find a wine store that carries it. We searched high and low and even at the local Big Box Wine store they couldn't get it. After calling 12 stores in Knoxville ... Bingo!! Ashe's had it in stock and they put it aside for me. I'm a happy guy and my guests will also be. Cheers

While visiting out of town I was looking for beer to pick up. This shop was not my first choice…read moresince they specialize more in wine. However, as it turned out it was a fantastic decision to pop in. Parking is very limited. Signage is there, but with the way the road is figured it would be easy to drive by. The lot and walks clean. I walked in with a friend and was immediately greeted by an older gentleman with a white beard. No it was not Saint Nick, but he was a kind old soul. He pointed out the beer area up front. It is tiny and they do have a cooler. TN law has the higher ABV items at liquor stores such as this one. The dark beers I enjoy are often over the 10% limit for beer shops to carry. I immediately spotted a gem of a beer. Oskar Blues Ten Fidy Barrel Aged and the clerk said no limit. I grabbed a few and was a super happy camper. The store has wine in the rear and liquor by the checkout. The shop is good size and I suspect you can find just about anything you want. The beer find was a big deal because it was a rare limited edition. Checkout was smooth and another clerk assisted me. A nice clean and friendly shop that I would return to.

Also, their selection is as good as anyone's in Knoxville. Their prices are fair. They're higher on some stuff and lower on others, but they're in line. I'll go to other places just to see what their store picks are, but Bob's is where the majority of my money goes. I would say the only drawback to Bob's is they don't have many bottles to sample from. It seems only the store picks have tastings available.
