This office is so welcoming and fun! The doctors are very dedicated and smart (and cute too)! LOL I could bore you with a 1000 stories but you should just go check it out and make your own memories. I will however tell you that ALL THREE of mine have been (and still are) patients here.... and here is my story: So I get a call two weeks ago on a SUNDAY. It was one of the ladies who works for Dr. Rankin and she is calling to respond to a call I had made on Friday (where I left a message). I had been inquiring on my daughter's new retainer (in week two of a three week delivery...so EARLY). She was so nice on the phone. We chatted for quite a bit because they really care about their patients and their families. I am amazed at the amount of effort this office puts in to support the best orthodontist I have ever seen. They have provided simple braces to Jennifer (now 25), pallet expander, braces and more retainers than I care to think about to Rachel (now 21) (the one I had been calling about) and my youngest (now 17) just got invisilign this week after being monitored for 4 years due to a facial injury in cheerleading. When Dr. Rankin saw the youngest for her visit, he told us to bring Rachel (and her baby) back with us so he could see the baby too. LOL He loves our whole family Their office and treatment rooms are so bright and colorfully decorated. They have expanded their office and I am hoping the artist returns to continue the scenery. The are constantly having drawings in their office and encourage the kids to do well in school for rewards. The have contests for designing Christmas ornaments, movie nights for patients at the local theater and so much more. They are MUCH more than a orthodontist office. I hope my grand daughter doesn't need braces but if she does, I will insist my daughter move back to New Bern to have Sammi be a patient there. read more

We love Dr. Rankin and Dr. Fiume. My husband originally started going as he wasn't the best at keeping track of his retainer as a kid and needed some realignment, again. And then we knew my daughter was going to need some help as her permanent teeth kept pushing 2 baby teeth for every one coming in. Not enough room! They followed her until it was time to do work and are so good about giving us time to plan further work. And at out last visit, I had a question about my youngest son (who wasn't a patient yet) and Dr. Rankin had him jump up in the chair. Dr. Rankin challenge this 6 year old and he stopped sucking his thumb within a month. The new office is wonderful. We love the separate adult area and kids area. And everything that the office does for their patients is fantastic. I never fear calling if I need to switch an appointment. And with some much of their clientele being school age, they always help with school notes or appointment times. We were so comfortable with Dr. Rankin, that it was a little weird for a new doc to come in, but we have been equally please with the care we have received from Dr. Fiume. We love that they talk to the kids as people too. read more

Dr. Rankin and Dr. Fiume are the best orthodontics in the world. Upon entering their office we as a family were made to feel like a family member and were welcomed. There has never been a time when I have called the office with an emergency (with 3 kids) with braces, appliance or retainer, that we have not been seen immediately. When we are on vacation we have been told if there is an emergency to contact the closest orthodontic office and that Dr. Rankin will take care of the billing. Tera in the front office is extremely helpful with juggling and scheduling appointments with regards to 3 kids, school schedule and other appointments. ALL of the staff at the office goes above and beyond for my kids, and is extremely sensitive to my kids needs, especially my oldest who has special needs. I can not say enough about this extended "family" of mine, and will always recommend their office to everyone who asks for my opinion or is asking for a referral for a orthodontist. read more

Hands down, Dr. Rankin, Dr. Fume, and their team of Dental Assistants are the BEST in the Orthodontics business! As soon as the patient walks in the door, he or she is greeted by the sweetest, friendliest, and most professional people in a medical setting! The doctors and their team of Dental Assistants are AMAZING at making the patient feel great about their choice to straighten their teeth! This Orthodontics team makes teeth look beautiful and the patient feel over the moon about his or her smile! We feel so fortunate to have Drs Rankin and Fiume practicing in our little town. Dr Rankin is so friendly and kind and knowledgeable. Tara at the front desk is so sweet and professional and does her best to accommodate school schedules when it comes to scheduling appointments. We have never had a negative experience and all the dental assistants are precious. The staff shows their true appreciation for our business as well by offering fun contests and other great opportunities! Both of my sons are patients and Rankin & Fiume. We are incredibly happy with the service we receive there. Dr. Rankin made my kids feel comfortable and welcomed, and when Dr. Fiume joined the practice, it was another great addition! The office offers many incentives and rewards for children. Even my 2 year old daughter likes to go because she gets a cookie and gets to play in the children's room. Emergencies are never a problem, and we even had one staff member come over to our house one evening to fix a broken wire. I highly recommend them! read more

I am very impressed with the professional atmosphere and knowledgable staff. My kids love to go to the office with their bright, beautiful rooms and fun games to play. Dr. Rankin, in one day, got my child to end thumb sucking and now her teeth have already improved. My child actually wished for braces but the expertise at this office started with the least invasive method first to correct her teeth and it worked! I really respect their practice for that and we will continue to follow up. We are so grateful! read more

We have been going to Dr. Rankin for years. Both of my boys are current patients. We drive from 45 minutes away just to go to his office. He has an amazing way of putting patients at ease! What I love best about Dr. Rankin is that each patient gets an individualized plan. I have been to other offices where new treatments aren't discussed and everyone basically gets the same "plan." Dr. Rankin does what is best for each individual patient. I wouldn't go anywhere else!! read more

The thing I liked the most about this office is they were not in a rush to put braces on the kids. They were both watched over 2 years before the decision was made. While neither of them really wanted braces, they are comfortable with the staff so that has made the entire experience easier. Both Dr. Rankin & Dr. Fiume speak to them concerning their care instead of about them to me. The recent office addition is wonderful and both teens enjoy being seen there now. read more

I have been to 3 different orthodontists throughout my treatment because we move all the time because of the military. This is the best by far! They are so nice and gentle. They really care about their patients! They always ask about you and your family. After I had my daughter they all wanted to know how we were.
