Wow, they are the Walmart of dentistry and that's not good. The New Bern office especially. The…read moredentist struggled with a tooth extraction on my husband. They did a bridge an over a year ago and he still has issues. A year after the bridge was done they sent me a bill and wanted an additional $135 for their billing error. When he brought it up, the girl in charge of billing was very rude and did NOT want to hear anything he had to say even though the insurance agreed with us saying we should not be charged. No one has gotten back to us 6 months later and they still insist we owe $135. I GUESS PAID IN FULL DOES NOT MEAN PAID IN FULL! This dentistry has many of the same complaints. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. Do your own research before using them. There are plenty of complaints about them out there!

But I have thought long and hard about this and I don't want others to suffer from this practice. Is the staff amazingly nice? Yes. However, I found the cleaning to be incredibly painful, the worst I have experienced in my adult life. That's not even the reason for this review. After this incredibly painful cleaning where she claimed my teeth were in bad shape (which I have never heard before), the dentist came in and claimed I had 3 cavities that needed fixed immediately before something worse happens. And at that point I felt incredibly pressured to make an appointment as soon as possible for the invoice they presented to me at the desk. They truly made it seem like it needed to be done as soon as possible before significant damage occurred. Alarmed at the cost and the fact my teeth were in such poor shape, I went home to share this with my husband. Also alarmed, he told me to visit another dental practice in the area to get a second opinion. Their assessment: my teeth were just fine. I canceled my next appointment with this practice and started going there instead. This was over 2 years ago, and I am still cavity-free with no issues. Based on my experience, it felt like they were sending out "deals" to obtain new customers who were frankly on a budget, then treating them like an ATM. After this experience, I did some digging and apparently, this is not uncommon...some dental practices will push solutions that are unnecessary to simply make additional income. But I don't want others that may be experiencing hard financial times (or otherwise) to come across this practice.
