Patient Be ware: At the request of my ENT in Illinois, I scheduled an appt with an ENT in Florida while on vacation, Dr. Todd kupferman of Light House point, FL. I recently received a bill from his office for my portion for two procedures he did not perform. His billing office read his notes to me which said he did perform those two actions - a nasal endoscopy and ear wax removal. I called his office, spoke with Kimberly. I explained the situation with her, she said, " I will remove those two charges off your bill and resend". He did not do what my ENT doctor was hoping. Absolutely Horrible Experience - Beware! I went to Dr. Todd Kupferman (ENT) at 3126 N Federal Hwy, Lighthouse Point for a simple sinus problem, and it turned into a nightmare. Without any real consultation, I was given tests I never asked for, my sinus issue wasn't resolved, and I ended up with a $1,200 bill out of pocket. When I tried to discuss it, I was told I needed more tests (only at their office) and expensive surgery. It honestly felt like money mattered more than patient care. I left feeling completely disappointed and taken advantage of. Wow. What a COMPLETE sh*tshow. After making this appointment a little over a week ago, I have received no less than 10 text messages to confirm the appointment and at least half a dozen emails to complete registration. I completed the online registration four times because apparently the information was never saved. When I received the email to "check in" I had to complete the registration information for a fifth time. In spite of the fact that I prepaid my copayment online, they asked for it when I arrived because they had no record of it. What other service in the world do you pay for the service before having it? After patiently sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes (where it was approximately 50°), and listening to the receptionist argue with EVERY patient as they arrived or departed, I went to the window to ask how far behind they were actually running. The receptionist responded "About another hour and a half. You are gonna be here for a while" ummm, I most certainly am not. Bye. How unprofessional, disorganized and disrespectful. The appropriate thing to do would've been to call me even before I arrived and explain this or at a minimum mention it when I initially checked in rather than assume I was gonna spend two hours of my time waiting for an appointment that I made a week ago. Several patients had complained and commented about how cold it was in the waiting room and nothing was done to address this. Don't be fooled like I was by the positive reviews about this office. Just looked at the reviews on their Facebook account. Everyone is saying the same type of thing. How is this tolerated???? It's pretty clear what's going on here. I have contacted this office every day since my visit. My calls are not returned, and no refund has been issued. So I was charged (potentially twice) for an appointment that never happened. I came at my time. 3:15. They took insurance and I'd. I sat down. For 50 minutes I sat and watched 20 to 30 get called. The female kept coming to the door. I waited for a sorry, be right with you. Not a word. I was tired of being ignored. Not a word. As I was leaving I told the girl at the desk. I am leaving. Being completely ignored. She looked at me and not a word. PATIENTS BEWARE!!!!! I signed paperwork provided by the office that said I owed $0 for (unnecessary) allergy testing and that my insurance covered 100% of it. A few weeks later, I receive a bill from the office for $1400!! They said it was "their mistake but the best they could do is cut the bill in half". Leaving me to pay $750. I would have NEVER had this test done had they told me I would be responsible for the bill. I also told the doctor I didn't need this test done as I know for a fact that I did not have allergies and he insisted I had to have it. Surprise, surprise my tests came back all negative. He just wanted to bill my insurance over $3000 to have the test done. Not to mention the tools he uses in his office are RUSTY. read more

I was on a scuba diving trip when I experienced a problem clearing my left ear. As an experienced diver of 35 years, I had never had this painful problem before. I thought that perhaps this was due to a bout with Covid in May of 2022, and that I might have some unknown congestion in my sinuses. I was breathing just fine so, no indication of congestion. Upon arriving home, I looked for an ENT near me and scheduled an appointment with Todd Kupferman, in the Lighthouse Point office. Not only did I leave the office, after perhaps 10 mins with the doctor, with 4 additional appointments for testing which seemed unrelated to my problem, but also unbeknownst to me, 3 prescriptions waiting at the pharmacy I use. They also appeared to be unrelated to my clogged ear. One being for ulcers, which I do not have, one for acid refux, which I do not have, and a sinus inhaler for allergies, of which I have no allergies. I asked and was advised that each of the appointments required a co-pay, and as we all know, an additional billing of my insurance company. What really bothers me is that I am not a stupid nor naive individual. What is going on in this practice is quite clear and I will not go back. My bad...I should have Googled Todd Kupferman prior to my appointment. read more

The doctor is having personal conversations with patients while you're sitting in there for two hours it's ridiculous. Be aware that if you go here, your going to be taken advantage of. As I'm sitting in the waiting room, I ran a search of reviews and should have walked right out the door. I made it very clear that I did want any additional procedures done during my initial visit that would incur additional costs. Dr Kupferman said that the copay is just to see him and that additional services rendered could/would be submitted to insurance. He looks in my nose and ear, tells me I need to schedule 4 separate appointments and he submitted extra charges(procedures to insurance when I told him I did not want that). This doctor overbooked appointments significantly. They advise you that your wait time despite your appointment time will be about 1.5 hours. My experience was that once the doctor finally came into the office to see me, I love He had not even reviewed my file and I had been there five days before. I Had some very specific issues but had no recollection. Instead of addressing the immediate problem, he told me I needed to have a full battery of allergy testing, plus a CT scan and gave me two medications that I didn't need in my view. In other words there was a complete oversell of services with several follow up appointments that of course would be billed to my insurer and I feel set me up as an allergy patient. . In South Florida, I find more and more of this type of oversell in medical and dental offices. Today I went to see another ENT and could not believe the amazing difference. New ENT group is incredibly professional and their offices well run. read more

I was a long time sufferer with vertigo who had been treated unsuccessfully by other doctors. I tried Dr Kupferman based on a neighbor's recommendation. After a full battery of tests, Dr Kupferman recommenced an in-office minor sinus surgical procedure to relieve pressure on my inner ears. I was skeptical but desperate at this point because I was having long lasting regular episodes of vertigo that were devastating. Like a miracle, the vertigo went away after the procedure which was 17 months ago. I recommend this doctor and he is worth the waiting room time. Let me start off by saying if I could give it zero stars I would because I strongly feel one star is too generous. This is a lengthy and detailed review to strongly discourage anyone from choosing this place. I rarely write low rating reviews but feel I need to for this establishment. Monday I am also contacting my insurance company to file a complaint. I was thankful on Tuesday that Bonnie instantly got back with me and offered a Thursday 10am appointment. Wow off to a great start. She said she never received the referral fax, however, my doctors office sent it immediately~no problem papers get misplaced. Arrived with no greeting or acknowledgement 20 minutes early for my appointment since I thought paperwork would be needed to be filled out. After 5 minutes I went back to the reception area and saw my name highlighted, asked for my paperwork and was told I had no appointment. Why highlight my name and not tell me this 5 minutes earlier. Checkout lady was beyond rude, would not hear me out and said we can see you at 11:15 and dismissed me and told the other lady to "handle her". I needed to be seen so I waited and was told that they would get me in earlier. 11:10 (true to their promise by 5 minutes I suppose) I was called back. Got my vitals done by the ONLY professional/friendly nurse that the doctor would just scream her name out from whatever room he was in. After vitals i was taken to room one. Doctor came to the room looked saying nothing and nurse came in and moved me to room 2. Doctor comes in introduces himself and that is about as pleasant as it got. Dr. Kupferman seemed to have a smart reply to everything I or my husband had to say. (I was very thankful my husband came with me since I believe he would not have believed me if he was not there of how bad it was.) Simple statements such as "they wanted me to see you" were quickly replied to "who is they". I assumed he was looking at the computer screen that he had my medical records pulled up. He seemed to have gotten stuck on the fact that I like to clean my ears with Q-tips and that my ears were impacted. He claimed he had to move the wax and it actually hurt when he pushed it to the side to see in my ear canal. He never removed anything but when I looked at my discharge paperwork it was billed. (That afternoon I felt the wax in my ear.) I continued to discuss the reason that I was there and my husband added that I was unable to swallow or breath and the doctors reply was "did she turn blue? If not then she wasn't choking and was fine." He seemed to think that my problem was only that I breathed through my mouth and If i breathed through my nose only I would "reset" my vocal chords and no problems. He prescribed a weeks worth of steroids~not sure why since he had stated that if I breathed through my nose I would have no problems. I have a severe deviated septum and is the reason I breath through my mouth and he said "you have two nostrils so breath through the other side"!! During the scope he would stop and say you're not listening to my instructions. Claimed there was nothing wrong but wanted to see me next week to have another look. Also he wanted me to come back in a month to do a audio/hearing test?!?! He and the original nurse mentioned that we would owe them because we had not met our $300 deductible and would owe or be billed. With our insurance we pay only a co-pay. During the visit I would often start gasping or having to stop mid sentence to swallow only to hear "see she's not breathing through her nose" directing the statement to my husband. I could not wait to get out of this place. When we checked out the original lady that did not want to "handle" me became sickingly sweet going as far to complimenting my husband on the shade he was wearing as if I was all right. Again there are absolutely now exaggerations to this review or opinions but only facts. read more

Now I see why this Dr has such bad reviews. 1 his staff is rude and unprofessional. 2 He will bled you're insurance company for as much as and as long as he can and you will let him. When I went in there and told him what my issues were I will give him credit he diagnosed me and the medication he put me on made me feel 100% better. But he sent me for so many test that I know I didn't need just to keep hitting me up for my $125.00 copay and my insurance for these test. They tried too have me make multiple appointments in 1 week or 2 and they will unless you tell them. I told them you have me coming 2x a week for a test that I don't feel I need and will cost me $250 in copays. My complaint was a nasal drip and he's sending me for hearing test and things like that. When I went too him in September I explained too him that I would like to get any procedures done to fix this before the new year simply because I had met my deductible. That went in one ear and out the other. By the time he told me what he needed to do it was a new year and he wanted me to do the procedure when I wasn't even close too meeting my deductible. Once I told him I could not do it until later in the year that I will just have to continue my medicine they wanted me too come in for a follow up. I told them why do I need a follow up if you know what needs to be done. You just want me to pay another copay for no reason at all. They also would not renew my scripts unless I came in for a office visit each month wow really so you can bang me over the head for more copays. So I just went and got my records from them and moved on. I now have my primary Dr. Calling in the prescriptions I need. My primary even had my prescriptions that are pills a 60 day supply unlike this Dr who was only giving me 15 for each script when I had too take them 2x a day so basically he was having me pay for a prescription every week. Instead of doing what my primary did for me and gave me a 40 count for each prescription. This Dr is all about banging you and you're insurance company over the head. No wonder why he only has 1 1/2 stars. read more

STAY AWAY! ACTUALLY.... RUN AWAY! Unprofessional, unethical and finds ways to charge you. He is short, rude, and quick with his words. Rather than say, "I can't help you, here is a doctor that can", he'll prescribe something that doesn't work and keep you as a patient. Had a 3:30 appt and wasn't called in until 5:30. Dr. Kupferman spent 7 minutes with me. Proceeded to perform a so called "procedure" which I didn't need so he could charge me extra. The so called "procedure" wasn't even in the area that was of concern. He prescribed something that I could have gotten myself and told me make another appointment, even though he also said, "you will need to see a specialist". Then why bother telling me to come back??? It wasn't till we were walking out that he told me I would be charged extra. If 0 stars were an option, i would choose it. Waste of time and money. read more

I went to this location for a radio frequency skin tightening session, just to try it out. I was seen by Sara, she was very friendly, professional and highly knowledgeable. I can't honestly say if the procedure is effective since it was one session instead of the average of three, but I would definitely return to try their devices since the location is clean, had a professional atmosphere and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. read more

If I could give minus stars I would. I had a 4PM appointment and arrived early, to fill out paperwork, etc. There was only 1 person in the waiting room so I assumed I would be seen fairly quickly. Wrong! At 4:55 I asked the nurse/receptionist when I would be seen and she said "she'll be right out" but no one came out, except for employees who started leaving at 5PM. At no point did anyone speak to me about a delay, etc. Another person had come in after me and was taken in, but no one even acknowledged my being there. At 5PM I told the nurse/receptionist she should cancel my appointment and I would find a doctor who had more consideration for their patients and their schedule. Totally unprofessional. read more

He is a thorough medical professional and has a very pleasant "bedside" manner, and is very eager to provide explanation for the procedures he is doing. I rarely write bad reviews as I am myself a health practitioner however this was such a case of incompetence and could be even considered medical negligence and I want to make sure that it doesn't happen to anyone else. I started seeing Dr. Todd Kupferman in Spring of this year for my chronic sinuses/headaches. The office is completely disorganized and they do not communicate with each other and each person blames the other for their lack of responsibility and follow through. The first issue I had with them that they billed me for service that I wasn't even there! Even when I told them that there was an error the receptionist didn't want to bother checking what the issue was and kept insisting that they I had an appointment on September 29th that they billed me for while in fact this was completely wrong. Finally Marsha, the only exception in this office in my experience, was kind enough to clarify to me that they billed me for allergy shot mixture that I never received! Actually I had cancelled allergy shots as it is too far for me to drive from Delray Beach to their Light Point Office. I also had to deal with major gynecological issues and was not able to keep appointments and since there is a 2 year commitment and my insurance is ending the end of this month I called them I will not be doing it which was plainly ignored and they proceeded to bill my insurance company! The worst of all was however when I had to reschedule sinus surgery (rhinoplasty) since they failed to communicate with me and my PCP office that they needed additional referral. The person responsible is Bonnie who is in charge of authorizations. So this was the second time that there was lack of organization and communicating effectively. Actually I had to go to my PCP in person and take time from work to get things moving. Still, time and resources were wasted as I run my own business I don't get compensated for lost time. To top it all, I had a follow up appointment scheduled for the following Tuesday 12/27/16. They called me on Friday 12/23 to confirm the appt which I did in good faith that they finally took care of all the necessary authorizations. To my surprise Bonnie leaves me a message that they again don't have a referral and I called my doctors office twice and left messages (and my PCP is no better and there is a separate review on this). I called the office and spoke with the receptionist who assured me that "Bonnie will call me right back." This was on Friday morning and when I didn't hear from them by Monday afternoon I left a message that I am cancelling my follow up appointment since I didn't hear back from Bonnie regarding a referral. I certainly didn't want to waste more time and taking time from work - my fiance as well. I didn't hear anything until after 11 am on Tuesday and I assumed there will not be any appointment. To my surprise, Sally who called me had no clue that I cancelled the appointment - so they don't even bother to check their messages! All she could say is that "I don't work the phones". Finally I hear back at 12:45 pm saying I can come in and that they have a referral (I wouldn't even have enough time to come and my fiance would need to take time from work and make arrangements to drive me). I told her that they didn't give me enough time to make it to the appointment they should have called a day before or at least first thing in the morning. The last straw was when at 3 pm doctor Kupferman calls me - obviously without even checking with his staff - asking if I am running late. Are you kidding me? Do yourself a favor and stay away from this doctor as you might have the same issues I had and that is unacceptable. They simply don't care about their patients. read more

Dr T Kupferman is shady! I left his office feeling like he just played a dirty trick on us! And never mind I noticed his dirty lab coat half way through the visit. He i vents problems that don't exist and tells you he is going to do a CT scan! This is something he tells you after uses tools that I now question! (weren't cleaned!!!!) I later called the office , spoke to the nurse and asked who cleaned the camera that the dr looks up your nose with and she replied "I don't know" . He also doen't wash his hands before treating you (Nor does he wear gloves ). I started reading about him on the internet. I searched random reviews and EVERY review was similar to mine! Dr was very nice, but the office staff...RUDE to say the least. I called to reschedule my appt later in the day she said fine. Then calls me to tell me it's tomorrow. I told her I can't make it tomorrow and she got rude and just said "FINE, BYE!" So I cancelled the next 5 appointments they made for me too. Reading other reviews, I hope I don't get billed for the other stuff Dr did while I was there, like cleaning my ears when that's not why I was there. After seeing this doctor today for a sinus infection ,I must say he is one of the most professional, competent and thorough doctors I have seen in a long time. He did not rush, exam was very in depth and treatment was ordered. Office staff very friendly too! Thank you Lynn and Leeann. I would recommend this practice to all needing ENT services. Even to a snow bird like me, I was even given an appointment within 48 hours of calling! Exceptional time frame for a specialist. I'm looking forward to his follow up next week (and hoping to feel better) I am not aware of the prior reviews accuracy but I am a retired RN from NEw York. I cannot agree with any of the negative reviews based on my experience with this practice. The doctor is an ENT ...checking all 3 areas is appropriate when there are issues noted...Patients should check insurance Coverage and prices before services are rendered. Patients also have the right to refuse treatment. However if they do, then they are responsible for possibly interfering with prudent medical care and treatment. read more

My initial encounter was OK, everything else was TERRIBLE! I received the bill today. $280 for the doctors visit, $420 to look inside 1 nostril and $130 to clean out ear wax. I called the billing dept in a different city, their only response was "That's what the doctor charges" I called the doctors office to speak to the office staff about the billing, they don't discuss billing. The whole encounter with the doctor lasted about 7 minutes. I still can't believe he charged $420 to look inside 1 nostril, and $130 to clean out my ears, after he said "since you're here how about I clean out your ears" I thought it was just something ENT doctors do as part of the visit. I needed to see an ENT for some symptoms I was having and my PCP referred me to him. I have worked in the dental industry for 30 years and never have I ever walked out of an office, but today I did. My initial visit with him consists of switching to multiple operators rooms before he finally comes in to see you, which totaled an hour of waiting in rooms to meet him. Upon meeting him, he is not at all a gentle doctor with his procedures. He pulled waxed out of my ear, which I cringed in pain, then a tube went in my nose and tears came down my face. He then referred me for a CT scan, which I had and went back to his office for results. Once again, we played musical rooms before he finally comes in to talk to you. Another 1 hour wait. We then did the allergy testing and today was the hearing tests and then to see him for the results, which I already New from the nurse that did my allergy testing, and the audiologist that did my hearing. Once again, transferred to multiple rooms, 3 to be exact to wait for him to come in. I waited a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes in his room and he still didn't come in. I got up, walked to the front desk, interrupted the reception who was waiting on a patient, and explained to her that I had worked in the field for 30 years, and this is unacceptable and I am leaving. She said you need to sign papers, I stated I am not signing anything and walked out. If your time is important to you, stay away from this office. Ridiculous is an understatement read more
