Very nice place for coffee during the day and drinks later on. We have been there multiple times…read morealready. The coffee quality varies somewhat between baristas, but is generally high. It's not a cocktail bar, but they try to accommodate mixed drinks with the ingredients they have. They also have eight beers on tap, four staples (three of which are lagers) and four rotating handles, with some appealing choices. We have not tried eating there yet, so cannot comment on food at this time. Definitely a great place to stop by for liquid treats though.

My girlfriend and I have been walking past the Nook on a regular basis for a while now, having seen…read moreit as a work in progress and the delightful little coffee shop and more that it's blossoming into. At the weekend, we finally got around to stopping by and I'm very glad we did. The Nook, as the name would suggest, is a small and cozy establishment in Heaton Moor offering a range of teas, coffees, snacks, ice cream and other goodies. I'd estimate there's maybe seating inside for around 20 or so people, with a few more seats outside but in the current weather you'd have to be very brave to use those! The staff were very friendly, prompt and helpful. Between us we ordered a latte and a pot of chai masala. The latte was good, though if you're used to a latte from a chain this was stronger with more coffee flavour. The chai masala tea was amazing. Full flavoured tea with a good hit of spice and warming ginger; exactly what was needed on a miserable windy November weekend. The cups are also huge, the pot held two full cups easily; so at less than a fiver for both of us this was a bargain. I think I put this in a tip, but they are in the process of introducing movie rental on top of their other offerings. Not content with just adding this additional service to the neighbourhood, the profit from the rentals once they're underway are being donated to good causes and charities based around the Heatons so there's even more incentive to go and use them! The only reason why I'm not giving the Nook a 5 star rating is the door. Maybe it was just because we went on a day where a named storm was ravaging the North West with 65 mph gusts, but the door just wouldn't stay closed so everyone was unfortunately sat in quite a breezy environment. There was one lady sat by the door who attempted to keep it shut with her foot. Though, I didn't really feel the cold thanks to the tea I was gleefully drinking.

Popped in for lunch the other day as I was in the area and had read some great stuff on Yelp. Well…read moreYelp did not fail me as this place is brilliant! Cute little cafe in Stockport with a rather extensive menu for it's style of venue! I was split between ordering a Panini or a Jacket Potato, which means I now have to go back and try the former as I chose the latter. I had beans and cheese on top and it was fantastic. Along with my food I had a Flat White (shock I know) and then because I was feeling rather fat from stuffing my face all week, I had a Broccoli, Pear and Kiwi juice drink and to my surprise I loved it! All this set me back £10, which is pretty much unbeatable, especially when you consider I used their free wifi for the best part of 2 hours! If you are ever in Heaton Moor, or even the wider Stockport area, Juniper is well worth a visit for a spot of lunch or a cake!

I found myself out for a day in Heaton Moor and if the truth be known was horribly hungover from…read morethe night before. As my companions I had my wife and 8 month old baby and as the day went on more and more, the crushing pain in my cranium and need for coffee and stodge was getting stronger and stronger. My daughter was sensing I was not feeling the best so decided to cry as much as she's ever done in the afternoon, thus prohibiting our entry into many a coffee option but just as it looked like we were giving up hope and I'd have to rely on a quick coffee to go, she fell asleep and we got a kick ass table inside the lovely juniper. A favourite of my wife and her baby group, juniper is a very cool deli and coffeeshop with room for about 10 people to sit outside and about 30 indoors. The staff were friendly and the place was cool and well decorated throughout with a family friendly environment. So basically I got to the promised land and I nailed an amazing ham and mozzarella panini and a macchiato - wow this was good, like heaven. I once received an emergency blood transfusion and this was the next best thing as it really brought me round back to who I was. Juniper - I'll be back, less hungover and wanting to try more on the menu!

Really really enjoyed popping into this super cool and super chilled coffee shop in Stockport…read more A really nice setting with you guessed it, a cycling theme - their flat whites and lattes really hit the spot and were cheaper than city centre prices! Really friendly staff, great tunes and an ambience making it perfect for any time of the day - I look forward to going back to try their food. *they also do evening supper clubs with the excellent Nasi Lemak and whiskey tastings so keep an eye on them for more details.

I needed to nip into stockport today to buy my husband a food processor (always marry a man that…read morecooks!) and thought this would be the perfect excuse to nip into Tandem....whom i'd being meaning to visit for a while. Its slightly hidden away, bit higher up the street from Robinsons and a bit lower down than Richer sounds...so isn't likely to pick up passing trade as easily, but i think its worth the 2 minute walk off the main highstreet. Spotlessly clean and with delightfully lovely staff it was a real pleasure visiting Tandem today. I had red pepper and houmous bagel for just £2 - nicely priced and makes working from a coffee shop more affordable and therefore something i can do more often. Wi-Fi is free and streamed the programme i was watching without any glitches...so another tick for working from there. And a final tick for providing a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. My favourite thing though....they are one of the only coffee shops that have delivered a hot chocolate to absolute perfection. Hot, not too much foam, not too thick, but still absolutely chocolately (and with teeny marshmallows). I am so impressed (as you wouldn't believe how many people seem to get this wrong). when i asked about it she said it takes a little longer than normal to make as they have to melt the limini drops slowly (that's the chocolate) and whisk it, but in my opinion it is well worth the wait. I will definitely definitely be back and look forward to trying their panini's.
