Fantastic real ale pub in a quirky building. A real gem in Stamford. Open fires, great food and friendly staff. 5 x hand pumps serving 3 regular and 2 x guest ales. From the Tobie Norris website: The building dates from 1280, and opened as a pub in December 2006.
We have won the award for national pub restoration + renovation and CAMRA pub of the year. The success of the pub is down to a number of factors:The amazing building, 7 unique rooms over 3 floors, and a large enclosed patio. The fine range of real ales. We have 5 hand pumps, 3 are dedicated to Adnams Southwold Bitter, Ufford Ales White Hart and Rupert's War Dog. The other 2 are for our guest beers. These tend to be from micro breweries the length and breadth of the country, plus a selection of old favourites from the regional and national brewers. We also showcase the seasonal and one-off brews from our own brewery, Ufford Ales. For more details please click on the above link. The food we serve is of the highest quality. We specialise in stone baked pizzas, cooked in specially imported Italian ovens, and we let you choose your own toppings, from the traditional to the slightly quirky! We also offer a selection of anti pasto, snacks, main dishes, and daily and seasonal specials, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. An impressive, and varied wine list, which regularly changes, displays the best of both the old and new world, and compliments both the food and the surroundings. We look forward to seeing you soon. read more
