We have visited a few times and are always impressed by the sevice of the outstanding waitresses, who seem to appear just at the right time. For large weddings the bar/restaraunt closes to local and becomes excusive to the wedding party.

Ilan, the barman, welcomed me with warmth and respect that felt effortless and deeply genuine. I'd recently lost my father, but without knowing a thing about that, Ilan made me feel comfortable, valued and at ease. He's got that rare old-school barman ethic -- calm, sharp, and always switched on. Not over the top, not distant, just perfectly balanced. He's also got a brilliant sense of humour and it's clear he respects the place he works in. You can see it in how he runs the bar, how he keeps the atmosphere right, and how he treats people. In a town full of good pubs, Ilan stands out as the kind of person you're lucky to meet. A proper gentleman, a family man, and someone who makes you feel like a regular from the first pint.
