The shop is quaint and small with a few freshly baked items behind a counter along with some prepared frozen foods, jams, etc. I grabbed a few tarts and a bear claw- honest review the tarts were good- but I do prefer mine with some nuts in them! Unfortunately, they were closed for most of my stay in the area and I could only visit on my last day. I picked up a box of 6 of their butter tarts, half original and half raisin. To be honest, I couldn't tell the difference between the two. I was a little disappointed with the butter tarts when I picked them up. Some looked burnt and they were all cold. I picked up the box of butter tarts at 10am, so it was just an hour after the bakery opened. I was disappointed when I bit into the first tart. The filling was extremely sticky and congealed and stuck to the roof of my mouth. It wasn't the gooey soft filling that I was expecting.

First, the takeout container for the fish was amazing. My leftovers stayed warm for another 30 minutes after I finished eating. The curry lentil soup was pretty good. Lots of veggies and flavour. The perch was battered and fried. The portion was quite large - but that's all it had going for it. Each piece was a bit dry and zero flavour. Even the lemon juice and tartar sauce didn't help. The yam fries were alright. Nothing special but not awful either. My wife had the burger and she said it was average. Overall it's what you'd expect from a small town diner. The lady there was friendly. They sell homemade buttertarts also... though I dropped mine so I can't comment on it this time.

It is definitely the best food we had in Tobermory by a long shot. There are lots of patio chairs and tables to sit at outside. It looks like a food truck pulled into personal property with a house and cat meandering about. It does take some time for the food to come out, but considering it's two people working a food truck, it's not bad for speed. Would certainly come back next time.

They have a large variety of fudges and other sweets. Definitely on the pricier end of things but it is the only one in town selling these kind of items. We got the ice cream here. It's very busy during tourist season and have about 3 ppl working just for ice cream to move the line along. The 'single scoop' is actually really big and you can get 2 flavors from it (very confusing since 'single' means one but hey, get to try 2 flavors and it's pretty big!) The flavors were quite good. We got the st Jacobs Apple pie which has chunks of Apple pie in the vanilla ice cream. The Apple and cinnamon flavor really compliments the vanilla ice cream. The chocolate peanut butter was very rich and decadent. The two flavors also complement each other really well. Service was good - pretty quick and efficient. Stop by here for an ice cream - you won't regret it!

Service: 5/5, very nice and friendly staff Food: average…read moreburger/fries/fish and chips Price: around $15/person We went here during our Tobermory trip and saw this place has a very nice rating. It was pouring rain that day and we could not do camping like what we usually do, so we went out for food. To me, the service is good, friendly waitress. The restaurant is clean and modern. However, the food is like typical food-court food: burger, fries and famous Tobermory fish and chips. To me, the burger and fires are what you are expecting, like McDonald's or Costco, nothing special. The famous Tobermory fish and chips are similar to the ones I ate in Toronto. These food are comfort food. There are very few restaurants in Lion's Head. So I guess it is why it costs a bit more than Toronto. If I ever come back to Tobermory, I would not just come here. However, if you are in the area and you need to eat, with limited options, unlike some of the tourist trap in Tobermory, it is pretty safe to eat here.

Arrived from out of town after assisting a customer in the area. Asking the employee I was…read moreassisting, I discovered either this place or Rachel's to choose from. Decided this place had more things I could eat - and gluten-free to boot! Anywho, I walked in and was directed to take a seat anywhere after a few minutes. Signage to sit where you like lacking - however not the end of the world. Was just the one server running the show while I was there (hitting 18:12 only a few tables of six & one couple). I ordered the chicken mushroom burger with cheddar, and side fries and coleslaw. All was well except the coleslaw tasted a bit off. Not bad; just watered down and no flavour. I hadn't seen that they had gluten-free buns on the menu (as I originally was just going to go bun-less as they DO state the burgers are gluten-free), but upon ordering she let me know they do. If you are getting the GF bun, tis just two slices of GF bread. I'm not picky though and it still tasted good. For burger sides it was the usual soup, salad or fries w/ coleslaw (appears just the fries comes with coleslaw unless I read the menu wrong). Price was slightly below average ($11.xx before tax for my meal, minus drink). Would go again in dire need if in the area. If that happens though, I will likely try Rachel's next time for comparison. All-in-all, a great little family restaurant. ^_^
