All star recovery was involved in the repossession of our car. Now, we were a little over a month…read morebehind, I do understand that. And we've paid off the rest of the car with help and should have it returned today. Although the amusing thing is my husbands pay check would be dropping the day after they decided to repo the car. In other words, they could have avoided a LOT of trouble had they just waited one more day. However, AllStar handled this repo in an exceedingly unprofessional manner. 1) They are not legally allowed to threaten arrest UNLESS they have a court order. This is considered breach of peace. 2) The agent stated that he would return the car the next day as long as we made up the amount of which we were late. Turns out, this was a lie. It took almost 48 hours for the bank to get any information regarding the van...then another few days for us to pay them. It wasn't that we didn't have the money (family assisted) but that paying bank of america is a pain in the butt! 3) On top of this, they do NOT return the car by tow truck, we have to pick it up. 4) We were assured that if we willingly handed over the van, that we would not owe a repo or redemption fee. This too was a lie. 5) The man refused to tell us the name of the tow company 6) He did not let us get our tag off the car. In my state, this is illegal. We are allowed to retrieve our plates off the car. 7) YOu DO have the right to request a court order for the removal of your car. However, because he convinced us to voluntarily repo the car, our objections are now void. Obviously we regret doing that now. ...I understand the lies were meant to make it easier for him to take our car. But regardless, I do not being lied to or manipulated in order to get me to do something. ALthough, truth be told, I knew he was probably lying. But what can you do? WE were afraid of legal involvement and arrest! ON top of all of this, the repossession was handled so poorly and unprofessionally, that the bank and broker actually suggested we inform police because they suspected it had been stolen. So just a warning, if ever you are faced with Repossession from all star recovery, DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING, and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!
