I had stopped for gas and then decided to go in the convenience store for a soda. When I came back out, the car wouldn't start as the automatic shift knob was stuck in neutral. Figured out how to remove the boot over the shift knob and push a yellow clip and unfreeze the shift knob into Park. Car still wouldn't start! Travis arrives in the tow truck and finds the issue is the shift cable was missing the bushing that holds it to the transmission. He said he had a mechanic that may be able to fix it if the part could be found. Unfortunately, no part was available and car was towed to VW Dealer in Marion, ill (55 miles). Monday morning, the dealer called saying they could only get the complete cable installation kit and it would cost $1977.00 installed. They also said the Part wouldn't arrive for 3 days. I called Travis and he sent me the number to a local mechanic. The mechanic had me picked up from my motel and we went to the dealer and towed the car to Johnson's Auto and Truck. The part was delivered and I was on the road back to Kansas City. I was saved by Travis with Jason's Collision and by Johnson's Auto and Truck repair. Turned out that I was Lucky, Lucky, Lucky! Two weeks later the transmission gets stuck in neutral while being used. It was towed back in. We were told the shifter had been replaced, but then they put the old one back I. I am not sure how they managed this, but the ignition had to be replaced because the key would not turn. It was fine while we had it. Finally after 3 weeks we got it home. The first day we go to use it, the transmission is now stuck in Reverse. They also told us the air would be Repaired. Not done. During the 3 weeks it was in the shop they refused to return any phone calls. WE ARE VERY DISPLEASED WITH WITH THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED.

Our Rav 4 is 6 months old and damaged enough that we couldn't drive it. Toyota roadside assistance dispatched Jamie to tow us to the nearest dealer. While on our way to the dealer, I called the dealer and they told us no Toyota dealer in the area does body work. Jamie said he could do the job but didn't want us to feel "any pressure to do business with him." After being with him about 15 minutes, I had a lot more confidence in him than any car dealer I've ever dealt with--the guy is impossible not to like. He drove us to a car rental place in Murray, although his shop is in Hardin. He recommended restaurants in the area and offered to take care of the tomato plants I was hauling home. More importantly, he was specific about when he could get the parts and the job done. This was a Friday and I talked several times that day with my insurance company. My insurance company eventually told me they could not get an adjuster there until Monday but that the local adjuster knew Jamie and on that basis authorized him to start work immediately without them having to see the damage. When we went to get stuff out of the car Friday evening, he had already started work. He got the job done when promised and we finished the rest of our drive home this afternoon without a hitch. And I defy anyone to tell me the car was severely damaged 9 days ago. It looks and drives as good as new. We invited Jamie to visit us in Colorado and take him to a ball game. Can't say I've ever been so inclined with any other car dealer/repair shop.
