I turn up to Cutting Quarters to have a trim. My hair reached my bum. I said I know I need about…read more5-6 inches cut off, which would bring it to the top of my waist. She cut about a foot and a half off. My brother measured it when I came home as he was so surprised i went for a shorter hair style as I have ALWAYS worn my hair long. This is a great place to go if you DON'T want long hair. I turned up and she kinda pointed to a round the corner and said Ohh just go sit over there. I was left swinging on the chair while she fussed around the desk area. I explained I needed help, but, I didn't once say I wanted shorter hair. I told her I wanted to keep as much length as possible. My hair now barely reaches my boobs. She even said yep now it's at the top of your bra strap like she was proud!! I will NEVER be going back. It will take me years and years to grow back what she decided to lop off. But what can I do.. It's not like they can glue it back on because frankly I don't want fake hair! Sick of hairdressers that don't listen. I reached behind me and said where is it. she said It will be right once I get over the shock of it. WTF!! p.s. There's another review around stating her hair required to be cut off due to such poor bleaching skills, and their Facebook seems to be edited to only show positive reviews. Nearly two weeks later and I'm still not happy. Must be the shock still I guess! ha!

An OurDeal voucher encouraged me to give Vee Cee's a visit while in the market for a new regular…read morehairdresser. Now, there are pros to getting cheap haircuts, and there are also cons. The cons usually win. My first impression, when booking my appointment over the phone, was not the best. I work full-time and like to book my appointments a fair way in advance (particularly when using vouchers) in order to secure the most suitable appointment time I can get. Vee Cee's advertised open hours on Saturdays and until late on Thursdays, so I asked for one of these times, and was promptly told that those hours were reserved for regulars. All of them. I ended up having to take an hour and a half off work one afternoon in order to use my voucher. As far as sticks and carrots go, way to use a stick to encourage me to become a regular! Despite the voucher having conditions, I was asked when I called up what I wanted done. Why didn't they save this question for when I came in? The only thing I could think was that they were trying to find out how long my appointment would need - despite there already being conditions to the deal. Looking for an upsell already? Anyway, I went with it and asked if the half-head of foils in the deal could be used in clumps, to create bigger block sections of foil colour, rather than evenly dispersed. I made the mistake of mentioning the word balayage, which did not go down well at ALL. I finally booked in for my appointment but wasn't looking forward to it. Still, I'd already paid my money for my deal. Vee Cee's is in one of those suburban clusters of shops with a small amount of off-street parking, which is nice. It's definitely one of your typical suburban hairdressers, which I wasn't expecting based on the voucher write-up (but I'm growing more and more wary of them). Some of my anxiety was allayed when I met the stylist, because she seemed really lovely. We discussed what I was looking for and it seemed to be received well - but then the young colourist got to have his turn and while trying to achieve what I wanted, it didn't really work at all. It's worked fine at other places in the past. He was very unsure of what he was doing. Also, hairdressers? Don't advertise head massages unless you're actually going to do more than squeeze my scalp a couple of times. The cut was fine (it was just a trim), the interactions were fine. I let the stylist upsell me some shampoo and conditioner because I was almost out and it seemed good. I was charged an extra $10 on top of the deal because of my "long" hair (it touches my shoulders?) - despite the fact that I only had around 1/4-head worth of foils on my hair in the end. Oh, and the "gourmet biscuit" that was advertised to come with my complimentary cappuccino? One of those plastic-wrapped hotel-type sugar biscuits. Spare me.

So great to have her back, as she is one of few stylists here in Brisbane that knows how to cut hair. Cannot recommend the rest of the staff highly enough as well. Love going there. So friendly and helpful.
