After moving to Tucson four years ago I have been seeing Dr. Tyson Polley, who is perhaps the best…read moredoctor I have seen in the last decade. The entire practice is housed in a very modern facility in Oro Valley. It is always clean and well kept. Wait times are minimal and everyone there is friendly and efficient. For myself, it would very hard indeed to replace the experience I have there.

Our family has been w/ this practice 25 years! Have seen Dr. Doner, the originating partner, now…read moredeceased, Dr. Garcia, retired, and for the last four years, Dr. Tyson Polley, DO,. He attended Ironwood HS at the same time as my kids and med school in Phoenix, so he knows the area. Never seen a DO before. The only difference: he isn't one to prescribe antibiotics freely-he often discusses alternatives, if any. He also discusses medication cost- and whether ins. will cover them. Never had a doc do this-really appreciate his unrushed, personal care. On Dr. Doner's death, my husband switched to Dr. Donevant-and I consider he and NP Aracelis "Sully" Von Rueden saved my husband's life by exerting themselves to find a cardiologist who could see him same day! Willingly took my elderly, near deaf mother into a then closed practice, so she could see the same doctor as myself and NP, Von Rueden-who was so sweet and compassionate. Willing to talk loudly(!) so mom wouldn't feel excluded, during the last stages of her life. Have absolutely no complaints on the care here. There seems to be an almost constant change in the front desk and the PA's-I don't know the reason. It's a very busy practice. Sometimes, one waits for 30 minutes or more. When this occurs, i mention this to the front desk and am usually called next. No rudeness! As with any doctors, one has to be self-aware; speak up in own or loved one's behalf. As a family, we have chronic conditions that require long-term/complicated care. Thanks to OVFP-we've survived!

I absolutely love Dr Lokale. He's a D.O. and is completely supportive of my working with a…read morefunctional medicine doctor who does more alternative things. He maintains eye contact when I'm talking, I feel he is fully present and attentive, and I never feel like he's impatient for me to just shut up so he can go see the next patient. The office staff, however, is a huge problem, and from what I've heard it's a widespread one. I can typically expect to have to make multiple phone calls to get the right information conveyed to my doctor; and even when they write things down there is often missing information, misinformation, etc. I've left messages requesting a call back and it can be days, weeks, or never. I've finally resorted to only dealing directly with the office manager, who seems more able to make sure things get done correctly -- but she shouldn't be having to do other people's jobs as well, so many things she's playing traffic cop for should be able to get done by the people who've been hired to do them. If I could have found another doctor who is as wonderful as Dr. Lokale, who's covered by my insurance, and who's within a couple of miles further away from my house, I would have left a long time ago, but so far Dr Lokale is worth the incredible hassle.

Two days later, I was called and advised I couldn't have two appointments, that I would need to be seen by a physician before the wellness exam. Okay, that's fine. I kept the appointment for October 1 and cancelled the other on September 28. I did not receive a reminder for the appointment on October 1 so I called to confirm two hours before the appointment. I was advised there is a note on my chart that states "no show" for an appointment their office cancelled for September 28, therefore, they could not reschedule me. Furthermore, they said the appointment scheduled for today was a "scheduling error." Now i'm left with no appointment, a note that prohibits them from rescheduling due to a "no show," and back to square one, except this time it's urgent. I need the wellness exam to continue with my medications. One last point, the person I spoke to was aggressive and rude and obviously defensive that the mistake was on their end. No thank you. I'll find another doctor.
