After years of watching my daughter train, I was approached by Grand Master Kim about joining.  It was something I always wanted to do but was concerned I would not be able to keep up the pace with the much younger students.  However, Grand Master Kim assured me I would be fine. From the beginning Master Charles dedicated lots of  personal attention to ensure I was comfortable with the curriculum.  Before long I had noticeable improvements in strength and flexibility.   Today, I am stronger, more flexible, and healthier than I was in my early 20's.  I even participate in the sparring classes and compete in tournaments; something I thought I was too old to do. Above all other positive experiences I have had here, the bond my daughter and I have formed training together is something words cannot express.  I am forever grateful to Grand Master Kim, Master Charles, and my fellow students.

Because of this, the instructor decided to single out my child and punish them in front of the entire class. I mean, how is it a 5yr old child's fault for being late? Why would an adult do this? Because my son was new to this class and singled out for discipline, he became extremely embarrassed and ran to hide behind a nearby tree. The instructor immediately called me back into the class and explained to me, again, in front of the whole class, that she cannot abide kids running into the road (he went nowhere near the road) and so was kicking him out. I was shocked. What kind of adult needs to lord authority over children this way? Had she pulled me aside to talk about being late, fine. But punishing my child? On his 3rd day?! I'm left feeling like the people in charge here don't know how to handle small children. Take yours here at your own risk.

The instructors and students are a wonderful group of people. Beyond just teaching martial arts, they've helped me feel more confident and happy, welcoming me into their supportive community. I started with Saturday kickboxing--which was a lot of fun! --but I soon realized I wanted to go more often than once a week. I'm now working toward higher belts and attending two classes a week, which are about 45 minutes in length. The instructors are fantastic and incredibly welcoming. Having seen them work with both kids and adults, I'm impressed by the patience and respect they show everyone. Whether you are four or forty-something, I highly suggest stopping in for a class.
